Guest Tony Williams Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I am curious as to how much faster the performance pack is. I installed the custom rom when i got my vega and havent paid for the pack as the vega doesnt seem slow to me. I wanted to see how i got on with every intention of adding it later. However it doesnt seem worth it. So can someone explain what difference it really makes then? I downloaded quadrant and it scores 2077. Tells me that compares well. So rather than us just arguing please can someone post what the result would be after adding the pp. many thanks Just tried quadrant on my vega with performance pack and it scored 2288 however i'm not sure how comparable the score is as it seems to vary depending on what other apps are running at the time. What i can say for sure is that the device as a whole feels much smoother in operation, scrolling, switching between apps etc now that the performance pack is installed. In all honesty i was happy to part with the money to go ad free anyway as i know a lot of time and effort goes into producing the mod pack regardless of perceived performance increase.

Averaged 2074 before, 2137 after. That said, don't care much for non-baselined benchmarks. I get wildly different scores on quad from one flash to another. Proof of the pudding is in the eating and as many others have testified, it tastes much better afterwards.
Guest nicksxi Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 The performance pack totally transformed my Vega. With the stock rom it was fast but had nothing much more than a browser. Installed the r5 with all the brilliant features that make android worth having but much slower and laggy. Paid for subscription and baked a custom rom with PP included and now its a dream. Seriously fast and responsive. And I can attach flash drives and external drives. Brilliant. Take that all the suckers out there who think the only tablet worth having has an apple on it!
Guest awarner Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 ELTel2 have you tried what gdwhitehouse and SilentMobius have suggested? Rather than post comments unrelated to the initial post let's keep this discussion back on topic please.
Guest terminaljunkie Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 2072 Was my best score with stock release and a fresh boot 2312 Best score with PP and a fresh boot. Thing is that the unit now feels fluid as opposed to feeling as though it was fighting me at times prior to the baked release. I am well happy with the unit now, and for the money I think it does exactly what I expected of it.
