Guest stanno Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 anyone got a rough estimate of ho much ewtra charge the 8 quid orange thingybob ould give the san fran In my experience you get about 1.3 charges or thereabouts. I've noticed that if you leave it plugged in and switched on for a long period (e.g. overnight) then it will drain completely (i.e. it doesn't switch itself off when the phone is fully charged - it just dribbles away).

As you would expect it to as the phone will takes its power from the external source in preference to the internal battery. Until of course when the external battery is drained.

Guest Borderland Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Having bought the PowerChimp, PowerMonkey, FreeLoader and generic 4xAA battery pack, previously I have been disappointed with these devices. Last week I bought the Veho Pebble XT and it seems a big improvement so far. I've fully charged my Blade off it twice so far and the Pebble is still going strong off one charge. Should charge 4 times in theory and holds way more charge than any of these other devices. Micro USB tip is also included along with all the other standard stuff like NDS, mini USB etc. Because the output is female USB, you can charge anything you have a USB cable for too.

Guest Vansphone Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Does anyone know of an external battery charger that works with the San Francisco? I have one with a USB out and it will charge most small electrical things like a PSP, DS etc but it will not charge the SF. Thanks

Thanks How about this: http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/vn/products/xp8000/ It's pocket sized & will charge anything that takes a usb charger as well as most laptops/netbooks. It has an 8000 mAh battery. I picked one up at Maplin for 40 quid (it was a clearance item reduced from £110).
Guest Vansphone Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 This post should help you: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-for-the-blade/ I get confused with the mini usb plugs. Does the one in the link come with a suitable cable for the Blade? Thanks
Guest agreenjesus Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I get confused with the mini usb plugs. Does the one in the link come with a suitable cable for the Blade? Thanks The blade uses a micro usb connection, if the charger has a usb output you should be able to use your original cable if an adapter isn't included. Alternatively you can pick up extra usb cables off of ebay for about a quid.
Guest shpal Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 There are several options here http://www.portablepowersupplies.co.uk/index.htm I am thinking of getting the AA battery one as it is only £7.50 and if I buy some good quality AAs I reckon it should do until replacement batteries for the SF are available at a reasonable price.
Guest Vansphone Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 nice one £10 including P&P ain't bad. I have just tried to buy one but it says "coming soon"
Guest digisol Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Vansphone - about to write a review for a battery charger I've got - it's a beast thou. All these small capacity chargers are too small imo, I've got a 11,000mAh one... - review is imminent...
Guest gooner10 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Hi Everyone, This is my first post, but i want to thank everyone for all the useful info on here, especially being a first time android owner. I have been reading up about external battery chargers and wanted one that wasn`t too bulky as i only really need it for emergency ( usually near charger or in car) and i opted for a Nexxus Powerpack Pro charger. It comes with AC and car charger, 10 tips including ( NDS, NDSi,PSP) , 2000mah battery and carry bag for £14.99 on Amazon (sold by Choice Stationery). I have used it a couple of times seems very good got 1 and 1/2 charges. SF sees it as an AC charge. Considering it has the AC charger (5v 1000mah), and a car usb charger i think it was good value for money.

Hi that does seem a good price for quite a lot of stuff and it's always useful to have a personal recommendation. Is it as neat as it looks in the photos?

Guest 90180360 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 I've already mentioned them in the other thread: 9600mAh Rechargeable Portable Emergency Power with Phone Adapters 9600mAh Portable Emergency Power Rechargeable Battery Pack for Cell Phone/iPod/iPhone/MP3/MP4/PSP Is it just me or do they beat the crap out of most other options?
Guest gooner10 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 thanks for the update - I think I'll go for it, I've been trying to decide what to buy for AGES Same here, it`s not got a huge capacity but i think it`s a good compromise between size, compatability and portability. I ordered Tuesday evening turned up Sat morning from Guersney. Order from Amazon from Choice Stationery currently £14.96 , if you order from Choice Stationery`s own website they are charging £19.49.
Guest Rotmann Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Hey, Does dealextreme.com ships to germany too? The Solar Powered one which madnav linked sounds very interesting. Yes, but it lasts 2-4 weeks. Someone reported on the other thread that it's useless and it does not charge as the solar cells are too small and the phone needs too much battery.
