Guest Edzilla Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Alpha2 solved my flashing problem (I did not have to manually copy /system from the zip), and of course the superuser issue. I'm feeling happy right now
Guest Edzilla Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Do you think you could modify the battery meter so it doesn't lie? I hate it that when I'm under 50% of battery, the battery icon is still at two thirds...
Guest Paul Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Haha, yeah, I plan to do this (another reason for 're-signing' - it's needed for that). P
Guest d3mone Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 When my Galaxy Tab is off and I plug the power, the battery animation get stuck (I cannot see the battery level). Any idea ? (Modaco kernel EXT4 + Alpha1) (I'm upgrading to Alpha2)
Guest Paul Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Yeah, I think this is provided by the recovery normally, but it's not supported by ClockworkMod. P
Guest d3mone Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) If this is provided by the recovery, I can tell you that before it was working with ClockworkMod and a RFS kernel. (Roto KM2 + CF-Root-Tab-KA1-V2.2) So, maybe a bug of the ext4 version ?! Edited January 25, 2011 by d3mone
Guest Jeff Nussbaum Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 This rom installed fine and everything worked out just as you described,There was one problem I have a phantom voicemail icon on my notification shade that I can't get rid of. Any help would be appreciated! Otherwise great job Paul
Guest Paul Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 How bizarre! Will have a ponder on that one... P
Guest ritdaw Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Loving Alpha2, thanks for the work and the Exchange Fix. Tab is so fast now. Looking forward to whatever comes next! Edited January 25, 2011 by ritdaw
Guest domaboul Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 ok, i've just installed the rom. install OK boot very fast market working. 1668 points with quadrant (1092 before with jme) only ebook reader missing, is it possible to have the .apk ? thanks for your work.
Guest Paul Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Ah yes, i'll post the eBook files tomorrow. P
Guest roy8846 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Any chance of changing the csc to one that has most apps for Samsung Store?? (XEU?) Think that sounds right anyway , hope you know what I mean lol
Guest JeffSmith215 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Ah yes, i'll post the eBook files tomorrow. P And also maybe the readers hub apk? This device makes for a great ebook reader especially now it is so fast so really benefits from these two bloatware apps. Maybe a kitchen option for these apps in the future? Nice work on the rom/kernel so far btw
Guest Paul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 CSC change and Ebook app (why the readers hub, does it really do anything?) just two of MANY changes coming up in alpha3. P
Guest Paul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Lots of changes in alpha3 (coming up soon)... it feels even more responsive, and even benches a little faster too. P
Guest bcmobile Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Cool. Would it be necessary to wipe before flashing from Alpha2 to Alpha3?
Guest Paul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Alpha3 will automatically wipe your device. P
Guest bcmobile Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Alpha3 will automatically wipe your device. P Thanks Paul. You're always quick with the good news. I'll assume you also muttered "sucker!" when you hit the reply button :) I was loving Alpha2 so I started to treat it like it was permanent. I should have learned by now that, with a new MCR, the Tab was going to be a volatile environment a week or so
Guest domaboul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 CSC change and Ebook app (why the readers hub, does it really do anything?) just two of MANY changes coming up in alpha3. P thanks for that... i can't wait, the ebook apps is my "everyday use" apps...
Guest Paul Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 alpha3 will be the only 'wipe' update... so from then on you should be able to just upgrade MCRs in place! P
Guest DazColl Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Paul, You are amazing - I only received my Tab yesterday and after a few hours trawling through MoDaCo and XDA I thought I'd give Alpha2 a go - it all went very smoothly with the R2 kernal and the device seems very responsive with no issues that I can see as yet. Must admit I've only got my days with a Dell Streak several months ago to compare it to, but I'm very impressed so far - both with the Tab and the MCR. Android has come on a long way since 1.6.... Thanks once again
