Guest pinglis Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 In Market ... "Keyboard from Android 2.3' ... seems to work very nicely! Thanks for that
Guest harry_m Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Are these tweaks proprietary or "Open Source" ? That's a good question! ;)
Guest DBLobster Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 That's because you signed-in via wifi! It's a known "bug" I think ... no idea if somebody is working on that. Thank you~ I will test the new version de-crossed.
Guest brtbrt Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Hi, has anyone tried to do a TPT install for this rom? Does it fit into a 128MB partition?
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Hi, has anyone tried to do a TPT install for this rom? Does it fit into a 128MB partition? Welcome to the Forum. You can answer that question for yourself! At the bottom left of each forum page (just above the links to other pages of the thread) there is "search this topic" facility - which seaches ONLY in this thread. If you put in 128mb as your search term, then you will both find your answer AND learn a useful skill ... ;)

I already used that feature and searched for "TPT" ;) I will try to search for "128mb" !
Guest baiIvan Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, Does anyone have problems with the WiFi on this ROM? I am getting disconnected all the time. If something is using the connection there are no problems but if it is not used for 2-3 min it'll disconnect. I haven't had any issues with the WiFi on the 2.1 de-oranged r8 ROM. Another thing I noticed - a phone with the original Orange ROM is much snappier then mine with either And 2.1 or And 2.2. I have 7-8 applications installed and no fancy staff, I have further removed few extra things from the de-crossed r2 ROM before installing it. So at least in theory my phone should be at least on par with the other. Quite often my phone would need few swipes before responding, unfortunately, I don't remember having that problem during the initial hour when the phone was with the factory ROM. I hoped that after few restarts and with time these issues will fade, but they did not. Anyone having similar problems? Or is this the expected behaviour? Cheers, baiIvan Edited February 6, 2011 by baiIvan

Have a look which servoces/apps you have running in the background and restart you phone a few times. If this continue wipe data, and reinstall a custom rom again. All 2.2 roms have minor issues, and there is no perfect rom for everybody. But most of the custom 2.1 roms in the forum are fault free.

The first boot after a wipe is allways slow,, its doing a bunch of stuff, and downloading any updates from the market (if you have signed in) so you should never expect it to be an improvement on first boot... give it 30 minutes and then reboot and see if it helps... And its not just the Blade, I've been messing about with my Nexus One, and its just the same
Guest Kthulhu Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 About the wake up menu button, I know it is odd, but I can not find the reason why this is happening. It is not always possible but most of the time it works! It is not wifi related, and my battery is running normal..... Well not so normal....I found that my phone with this rom was all the time syncronizing to google services - this make posible the easy wake up, I guess ,but also wasted more battery (about 20% more). I do not have time to find a solution so a move back to my backup of the De-soft.
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) @Seb I've been running DX2 since its release. That means I reckon it works pretty well. So thanks again ... BUT ... I suspect that the Nexus market fingerprint might not be without a downside. I've noticed that Market refuses to show me Vlingo. I had reinstalled it from an Astro backup (so no market link) and it is running beautifully (apart from the Android 2.2.0 bluetooth bug, said to be fixed in 2.2.1 and later). So I thought I ought to load it properly and be notified of any updates - but Market won't even show it to me. Going to market.android.com it says Vlingo isn't compatible with my 'device' which it lists as a zte blade (and it doesn't seem to want to allow anyone to edit that!) I wondered if this was due to the New Market, or something else. So ... I did a nandroid and restored my nandroid of jj7 (with Vlingo installed) ... With jj7, Market (from the phone) is prepared to search out Vlingo for me, and knows its installed. There is no new version, no update available, so its not Vlingo that has changed. So, I'm now presuming that Market is spotting an "incompatibility" that has to do with a difference in the way that jj7 and dx2 are presenting themselves to Market. And one thing I'm aware of is the fingerprint. Perhaps you could try and confirm what's going on? For a "cleaned-up stock rom" this behaviour seems a little bit quirky! Vlingo itself ain't a problem. Its installed and running very sweetly (even doing Bluetooth voice dialling.) What worries me is that I don't know what (else) Market might be hiding from me! :P And in another area completely, the weirdness of wiper with wbaw's "faster fixer" seems to be related to the fact that the X doesn't have AGPS as such - and no on/off settings switch. It behaves like AGPS is off (despite the .conf setting) and consequently, with wbaw's fix DX's GPS only works properly if wiper is edited to 0 in his .conf file. Edited February 7, 2011 by oh!dougal
Guest WAWA72 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I can not register my Google Account with 3G and not with WiFI. Anybody a trick? Over market i can also not register.
Guest jr866gooner Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Anyone else have trouble with maps finding your location?
Guest mELIANTE Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) I've had some random reboots until now, about 4. Anyone having them? Also, with data turned on, there is a very big difference in battery life, in relation to having data turned off, is this the way it should be? I thought 2.2 was supposed to have better battery life than 2.1 but de-orangeated was better in that field :P Edited February 7, 2011 by mELIANTE
Guest manji Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 No reboots here. I'll try data on for a whole day and get back with some feedback.

I'll check up and see what JJ has got for its fingerprint, and see if I can see anything that might help clear it up for you
Guest mELIANTE Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 No reboots here. I'll try data on for a whole day and get back with some feedback. Hi. This past weekend I had data off and no reboots happened. Today it rebooted again, maybe it is in someway related?
Guest defcrash Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I have data turned on and no reboot so far, instaled this rom on saturday, and yes, with 3G on consumes alot of battery.
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 ... with 3G on consumes alot of battery. I really don't find this. Its pretty economical on battery and 3g mobile data (auto-Google-sync-only) uses very very little power compared to being awake and running wifi! Have you successfully downloaded anything from the Market? I wonder if some of these problems might be due to persistent trying and failing to login to something like GoogleTalk. If you've downloaded anything (at all) from Market, then GoogleTalk isn't the cause. Are you auto-syncing to Facebook or anything like that?
Guest WAWA72 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 My Problems are Blown Away Set to Factory, Reboot, Put 3G on and after this i can register my Google Account
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I can not register my Google Account with 3G and not with WiFI. Anybody a trick? Over market i can also not register. Try doing a "factory data reset" (clear cache and data) then try again. Long ago, I had to do that to get into Market for the first time ever (with the totally stock Orange firmware!) You might first want to backup stuff like sms messages that will be zapped by the data clearing ...
Guest Sebastian404 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Hi. This past weekend I had data off and no reboots happened. Today it rebooted again, maybe it is in someway related? Can you leave your device connected to you PC, run logcat and then turn data on and leave it till it reboots, then we'll be able to see what's going on/wrong

It might take a while because there is no pattern that I can see. It just reboots out of nowhere, but always when I'm doing something with it, never when just idling. And it didn't happen that much either :P Edited February 7, 2011 by mELIANTE
Guest defcrash Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) Have you successfully downloaded anything from the Market? Yes i did, my first download on market was from my 3G connection. Are you auto-syncing to Facebook or anything like that? I dont use facebook or any other social network, all i have is 4 mail accounts (its set to check 2 accounts every 30min and the other 2 every hour), my weather widget (fancy pro) to check every hour and 3G watch dog to update every 30min. I say it uses alot of battery cause if i turn off 3G the battery barely drops (last night i went to sleep, disabled 3G, battery was on 47%, i woke up 6h later and the battery was in 46%). I did a batery recalibration the same day i installed this rom, will see in the next's charge's how the battery performs, i don't mind cause i charge the phone every day so.... i'm really happy with it. :P Edited February 7, 2011 by defcrash
