Guest Lennyuk Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 I knew someone who had a desire that did this, it would also randomly change time zone's too. never got the the bottom of it.
Guest Rhysd2 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 well mines going back today /sigh tried to return it last night but couldnt reflash the original rom in time to get there before 8pm because the sd card went loopy after I formatted it and it took some time to fix. Talk about a string of curse words coming out my mouth :( just hope this next one works. My wifes swapping it as she has the day off and shes under orders to make them demo the time/date sticking before she leaves the store lol
Guest bobchiba Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I got a vega couple weeks ago, have the same problem. Quite irritating when u want to turn it on quickly to sync with mail/apps etc. Got an app to auto sync but it annoys me. From a consumer point if view would Currys give me a refund over this fault or would they only want to replace it. I kind of want to wait and see if the blackberry tab is any good.
Guest Donkey Oaty Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I bought a Vega on Monday. Upgraded to R8 and then noticed the problem with time and date resetting everytime it was turned off for more than 10 seconds. I put it back to stock and it was still the same. Returned it to Currys and got a refund.
Guest Captain Crouton Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I bought one of these for the wife yesterday and this morning it had reset the time and date, I haven't been able to install the rom everyone installs to get the market yet so I guess I could just return it for a replacement. Assuming I do eventually work out how the Devil to install this rom, how do you return it to stock if necessary? Do you backup the original somehow?

The latest stock ROM and instructions on how to flash it can be found here: http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/ Look under 'Downloads'. warwound
Guest BillBong Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Me too ......... I just got mine a couple of days ago, came with 1.09 and I flashed with MCR8 yesterday. Discovered this morning the same date/time reset that others have reported in recent purchases. Has it been confirmed as a hardware issue - I didn't have it on the stock ROM long enough to observe if it happened under that too. If I re-flash the stock ROM from the Advent website, will this wipe off the Clockwork Recovery stuff too in case I have to return it?

I think flashing stock ROM will overwrite the ClockworkMod boot image with a stock boot image. warwound
Guest stevie_mac Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Back from PC World with a replacement, no problems - they were happy to exchange it. The new Vega booted with correct date and time settings first time - i didn't even have to set them. I powered off and waited a few minutes and rebooted - date and time still remembered! Now to flash the MDC r8 and reinstall some apps... warwound. Warwound, have you noticed any other improvements? is the touch response better do sceen items still judder when slow scrolling? mine has the datetime reset issue - im thinking of exchanging.

I've noticed no improvements whatsoever with the replacement unit. I seem to get more of the screen glitches mentioned here: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...s/#entry1648178 But i only had my original Vega ~1 week before getting it replaced so i can't be sure that there really are more screen glitches, it might just be that i've noticed them more since i got the replacement. If you charge your Vega and shutdown while it's charging and then restart does the date/time get remembered? warwound.
Guest Leanne.williams38 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Hey can someone please do a step by step of how to get my vega back to its original factory state so that I can try and get an exchange as I find myself with the same date/time problem and it eally irritates me. I did notice the vega flash link but I still need telling with these things.
