Guest alperkiraz Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Dear All, I have purchased an unlocked LG GT 540 cell phone from USA. I am trying to use it now in Turkey. I am sure the phone is unlocked. I tried the combinations that should be used for entering an unlocking key and received this message "YOUR PHONE IS NOT PERSONALIZED". But still the phone won't recognize the SIM card. I receive no signal and get the error "NO SERVICE". I tried flashing the rom with other versions (Europe Open and Baltic versions). Still the phone does not recognize the SIM card. I would be glad to hear any suggestions on how I can have this phoen recognize the SIM card. Thank you in advance.
Guest JackG Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) Try going to Settings->Privacy->and Factory Data reset and say yes to the warnings, your phone will reboot to the LG logo, then reboot once more. This helped me with some com.android.phone crashes, so it might work for you also, you wont lose the unlock ;) Hope it helps, Jack Edited February 2, 2011 by JackG

I did a factory reset and the situation is the same. In the Location & Security settings when I go to the "Set up SIM card lock" option it seems like "Lock SIM card" option is selected by default. It says "Require PIN to use phone". I tried entering different PINs but I could not unlock the SIM card. I am also sure that actually the SIM card should not have a PIN. When I try with another phone the SIM card works fine. Best, Alper.
Guest alperkiraz Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Also, when I try to enter SIM PIN the phone displays exactly this: "SIM PIN Remains: -1". So it appears to me that the phone is in some kind of a loop or permanent lock. Anyone can help?
