Guest evilpaul Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hey guys, just formatted everything then went to install fiblesama's 4.1 rom and it said it failed and I'm stuck on green android! :"( anyone know what to do, i'm meant to go out in a bit! :"( What version of recovery are you using, and if you pull the battery can you get back into recovery by holding volume- during bootup?
Guest punkmilitia Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) What version of recovery are you using, and if you pull the battery can you get back into recovery by holding volume- during bootup? Thank you so much for the reply - yes I can go back into clockwork by holding volume down at startup but I never backed up.. :"( EDIT: V3.0.0.5 Edited February 15, 2011 by punkmilitia

Guest punkmilitia Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Try to wipe first did a wipe but it keeps aborting, flb installs ok though!
Guest evilpaul Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Thank you so much for the reply - yes I can go back into clockwork by holding volume down at startup but I never backed up.. :"( EDIT: V3.0.0.5 In recovery go into "mounts and storage" and make sure you format boot, system, data and cache. Then go to "install zip from sdcard" and then "toggle script asserts" and ensure the asserts are disabled. Then "choose zip from sdcard" and install the cyanogenmod7.zip. If you have used ext2sd before, then it can cause issues. If so, then make sure you format the sdcard before rebooting the system. The above steps will clear all data on the system, but should get you to a nice place where the system will boot.
Guest MDCFan Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Just restore your backup using recovery.

(Status 7) Installation aboreted happened after following all those steps - could it be because i'm using Sebastian404's 3.0.0.5 CW instead of TomG's? I don't know how on earth I can install tom's .img instead of an update.zip..

A generous 4.3-inch display 480x800, and is powered by a 800MHz Qualcomm-made chipset, plus a Adreno 200 GPU. There's also a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, along with the usual Bluetooth, A-GPS, and WiFi bundle. Check the source: Very nice :) Edited February 15, 2011 by cooldfuzion
Guest rayraven Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 ^Too big for my taste, hopefully we'll have official cyanogenmod by then, as i'm guessing most devs will move over to it. Liking the 10inch ZTE tablet though.
Guest cooldfuzion Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I will buy a table when ZTE realeased a Honeycomb one! A question for those that have bought a Blade, how mutch did it cost in your country?

Guest harry_m Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) How you get wifi-tethering (mobile hotspot) on CM7 ... 1.) You need the "hostapd"-binary from any 2.2-rom (for the zte blade) - it's located in /system/bin (extract it from a update-zip-file). 2.) Now copy the hostapd-binary to /system/bin adb remount adb push hostapd /system/bin/. adb shell chmod 0755 /system/bin/hostapd 3.) Install wifi/wireless-tether from the google-code page - I recommend the latest experimental version (version 3): http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list This version comes with/supports a toggle-widget, infrastructure/master-mode, wpa-encryption, access-control ... and other useful stuff like mss clamping ... IT'S NOT AD-HOC! adb install wifi_tether_v3_0-pre5.apk I'm sure it will be integrated into CM7 soon ... but in the meantime ... Happy Tethering! Edited February 15, 2011 by harry_m
Guest leetron1 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Just cannot get Flib ROM beta4.1? to install..used various recoverys, always wipe, toggle asserts to disable= error status 7

Guest Chris_M Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) I installed Flibble's Beta 4.1 build last night, and I've been completely blown away by the extra speed and functionality compared with the ZTE-based ROMs. Thanks to all the devs for your hard work! Having said that, I've noticed a couple of bugs which will need to be ironed out before this ROM is ready for everyday use. 1) My alarm failed to go off this morning - it vibrated continually, but there was no sound and the screen would not respond. I had to remove the battery to recover. 2) Occasionally I get a blank screen after a call - I assume it's the proximity sensor not realising I've taken the phone away from my ear. To end the call, I have to remove the battery. 3) Selecting "Settings / CyanogenMod Settings / Performance / CPU Settings" crashes the application. 4) After exiting a GPS application, the GPS icon sometimes stays on the notification bar. This looks like a known CM issue which was fixed yesterday, so hopefully newer builds won't suffer from this problem. Other than that, it's utterly brilliant... :D Hopefully this info will be useful to anyone who's thinking about trying out the beta ROMs. I'm looking forward to the Blade being added to the CM repository so we can start getting nightly builds! Guest richardkemp Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Thanks for the upload Flibblesan. Though it is much smoother and fully functional than previous uploads in this thread, I find that contrary to what others said above my screen will not wake after calls. I'm curious what the difference between the content here and metzench's BBlack mod is since he hasn't spelled it out in his thread. Don't have time to test another now though.. back to JJ9 for the moment.
