Yeah I'm suspicious of this too, even running in airplane mode.... Post a shot of your battery usage screen for proof.

I get about 24-30 hours on 1.6.1 overclocked to 1.15 with moderate use and a few background apps running.

It was a joke.

Here's the 170 boot.img with the per-page-process enabled..

if you don't know what to do with it, then don't do anything with it!

of course some light reading in this forum wouldn't go amiss....

Ouch, I'm running at 1.2GHz, play music all day at full blast on my internal speaker while browsing the net, full on facebook, twitter and several news feeds and I'm at 98.7% after 3 days!

Oh, and I have over 300 apps loaded ;-)

Lol

my streak runs without a battery and a power cable...beat tht..LOL

Thanks Fards. Flashed via fastboot and seems to be working fine!

Does anyone know why UOT Kitchen isn't working with streak files anymore? Can someone else try it as a test?

The menu issue was also there for 161...

easy solution..

use the sliders that are there.. don't press the menu key

Like I said NOTHING responds! ...that would include the sliders :P

Either itll freeze after boot. Or work for about a min, then freeze.

Only way to reboot is by holding down power button, or remove battery.

1.7 seams real unstable.

Any one else having problems with your phone turning itself off? Happened like 3 times today. Id use my phone for something, put it down, then go to use it again and it would be shut off. Often acted like it didnt want to come back on either. Had to wait about 30-45 seconds then try again and it would boot up like I had just turned it on.

Is that the perfmod? If not what is it?

Lol I love these ‘Sink the Bismarck’ instructions. After a bit of head scratching this is what I came up with.

Unzip the file ‘update-1.6.1.zip’ to a folder.

Access folder ‘system’.

Copy the folder ‘fonts’ to the root of the Streak SD card.

Launch Root Explorer

Copy the folder ‘fonts’ from the root of the SD card to folder ‘system’

When finished reboot Streak

If this helps anyone else who, like me, struggles a bit, and is embarrassed to show it. Though I am sure it is obvious to most.

Edit Update

OK that didn’t seem to go too well. So, back to the drawing board.

I extracted both of the files, update-1.7.0.zip and update-1.6.1.zip, replaced the ‘fonts’ folder for 1.7.0 with that of 1.6.1 and zipped the result. Named it ‘update.zip’ and flashed again.

That did the trick this time round. Sorry for any confusion, clearly I jumped the gun on this.

1. From your computer unzip update-1.7.0.zip and update-1.6.1.zip to folders called update-1.7.0 and update-1.6.1

2. Delete update-1.7.0/system/fonts

3. Copy update-1.6.1/system/fonts to update-1.7.0/system/fonts

4. Navigate to 1.6.0 folder. Select the 3 folders and boot.img and zip those to update-1.7.0withOldFonts.zip

5. Flash

Worked just fine for me.

GPS is not getting a lock at all... I upgraded from Dell's 318 build, not a rebel sim user, and I also live in the US. I used the amss.mbn upgrade for 1.5.1+, and my APN profiles are all good.

My install.txt contains...

noapps

gbkb

volboost

us240

bios

noswype

In the Location & Security settings, I unchecked the "Use Wireless networks" and "Use assisted GPS" and only have the "Use GPS satellites" box checked... Maps and Navigator are not able to find my location and give me the error "Your current location is temporarily unavailable.", even with the phone having a broad view of the sky outside.

Another thing, I'm using the Tablet Dialer implemented in 1.7.0 and during a call when you press the Menu button to bring up options, all the buttons are like squished? Like the end button? It's awfully weird O.o

My Streaks LCD broke, getting another one in. In the mean time, has anyone had any luck with any gameloft games that previously didn't work?

Thanks!

Agreed dell should def make a donation to him for taking there first born out of the trash, 2.2 still not avalable for att streak, no way in hell i was going to live with that rom this whole time, somone should write a letter to dell about steves work and post it on there facebook, twitter, email mr dell himself, company relies on him for his work , a donation from.a company with so much cash wouldnt hurt them.

They have, please check this forum for the "Support your Streakdroid" @dont_panic posted an Open Letter to Dell. Please read http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...or-streakdroid/ add a comment and if you have twitter please retweet.

Thanks,

Anthony.

I am a 160dpi ADW Ex user. On 1.6x, everything looked fine on my main homescreen but now everything is squished together:

Have you tried increasing your column and row sized in adw ex. I'm running it and the only change i've noticed is the size on the power control icons :P

Ta,

Anthony.

Ps Col set to 10 row set to 9 on mine.

The default is 160, which is the dpi I'm using. What's in your install.txt?

Try following the instructions I posted,

learn to read and search the forums.

Theres so many people on here that demand stuff or claim"this doesn't work"or "this is unstable" without having a clue.

It's time to put some work in and start to learn....

1.7 seams real unstable.

If you dont press the menu button then the sliders work fine,

if they dont for you then it's something you have done.

170 works fine, it's much more stable than any other rom.

Fards is right.

People should not advise anything if they don't know what they are talking about. There's bullshit somewhere.

Perpage img file has to be flashed in the boot partition !

Maybe that helps http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Fastboot

By the way Steve, is there a possibility for the next release to have a with/without 3D tweak option ?

Cheers
