1. From your computer unzip update-1.7.0.zip and update-1.6.1.zip to folders called update-1.7.0 and update-1.6.1

2. Delete update-1.7.0/system/fonts

3. Copy update-1.6.1/system/fonts to update-1.7.0/system/fonts

4. Navigate to 1.6.0 folder. Select the 3 folders and boot.img and zip those to update-1.7.0withOldFonts.zip

5. Flash

Worked just fine for me.

I appreciate the input but how is that different from what i said?

The default is 160, which is the dpi I'm using. What's in your install.txt?

install.txt and boot.prop are bothat 140

My Streaks LCD broke, getting another one in. In the mean time, has anyone had any luck with any gameloft games that previously didn't work?

You know, I treated the darn thing so very well. I never once stepped on it, sat on it, or hit it against anything. I even dedicated an entire pocket to it. One day I pull it out of my pocket, and the top side (power /volume buttons), and left side (earphone), had a thin line going all the way doing both sides. I'd say it was 1-2mm thick. Within an hour the upper left hand side grew and I had black lines going throughout the display. It was quite responsive still, just a garbled image and weird colours where the damage was.

Then I went and buggered it up and its stuck in a boot loop (streakdroid 1.6.1). Using Windows 7, I followed all the steps for QDL tool (2 guides), but I keep getting stuck at the driver installation. Verification is turned off, all the steps were followed, but it still says that the "driver cannot be verified, a previous driver may have been installed incorrectly or may be corrupt." I am absolutely installing the correct one from the list as well, I match the video 100%. I am going to try and hash out the issues on the PC again and then order in a screen off of ebay to replace it later. Then maybe I will sell it on ebay or kijiji, or maybe keep it as a spare unit to test some of the builds steve releases :P

So alas, now I must wait to try out version 1.7 of streakdroid. I really want to see if games like NOVA work on it! I won't have my new streak for a day or two.

I was playing in the snow a couple months ago and my phone fell out of my pocket. I guess this time (as opposed to the numerous other times it has fallen somewhere), the concrete ground impacted the streak in such a way as to crack the lcd beneath the gorilla glass.

Do you guys use the streak like is or have a protective casing? The day i bought my streak i got an Otterbox and since then i dropped it on the floor from desk height a couple of times and nothing. My condolences for the dead screens. At lease they finally came out with replacement screens cause buying a new one is very hard on the heart.

Just upgraded from 1.5.1, went smoothly without a problem. Wifi and 3g all working, super slick, data seems faster than it qas. One issue is whats the defalt pixel density for dell builds? Ive got it on 160 but things seem smaller, doesnt seem like the default density?

Also what the hell is perfmod? Didnt put it in my install.txt...ive searched but found no answers, everybody seems to just know what it is haha

First of all many thanks to Steve for these great ROMs. With the help of this forum I was always able to install all releases since I have left stock 1.6

I have noticed that menues pop up centered on screen, well in the original 1.6, menues used to pop up at right hand side - for easy access with the right thumb (landscape mode). May we have this back?

The most I've had on it was a screen protector. After having a couple peel off, I figured it was useless given the gorilla glass, and just carried it around bare. Given the number of tumbles that it has had before the final break, I'll say it has held up pretty well.

Every once in a while, I look at cases online or on ebay. I've not yet found one that intrigues me enough to buy. With the price of lcds dropping every week, pretty soon buying a replacement would be as expensive as one or two cases.

I started having the issue where switching from wifi to 3g or vice versa didn't work or required disabling wifi and rebooting. I tried reinstalling after a factory reset to no avail. What eventually worked was a reinstall with perfmod disabled.

It would be good to know if everyone else who experienced this also had perfmod enabled (in 1.7.0) or if there were people with perfmod who did not experience this.

Running Perfmod on 1.7.0 and not having any problems.. although I had a quirk after first reboot that made WIFI auto enable when switching to Airplane mode, but went away after another reboot.

My initial install had the radio problems did NOT have perfmod installed. I did reinstall after a factory reset w/ perfmod selected and things are going well.

There have been quite a few people on here with issues relating to pixel density. On my Streak its set at 160 but it looks more like 180.

Is it still the same after a rebbot, that fixed my phone - also changing from vibrate to volume on should fix this.

Reboot didn't fix it but a reflash did. Strange

Has anyone else had the issue of the notification bar dropping down when exitingan app and then needing to manually pull it down again to get rid of it.

Also I am getting the previously mentioned in 1.6.x volume issues on phone calls where it goes from ok to too low without steps down.

Notification bar gets quite annoying

I'm also having GPS issues with getting a lock in the US..., not a rebel sim user, flashed amss.mbn for 1.5.1+, live in the US. Won't get a lock unless I use assisted GPS or Use wireless networks, but that's not using the actual GPS

yup, it can play gameloft games now

i'm playing gangstar2HD MV

May I ask how? I now have my new streak, all upgraded (few FC errors that reflashing will most likely fix), and I've tried a few gameloft games. Admittedly, I get a little further into some of the games than I did before, but they are still quite unplayable. Gangstar2 for instance has incredibly slow menus/graphics. When I get I can see everything but graphics go a little wonky. When things do happen to look ok (which isnt for long), it runs very slow.

If you haven't specified a different density in install.txt, you will most likely be at 160. The reason why you think it's different is most likely the new system font Steve implemented. Others complained about that as well earlier in this thread. It was already explained how to get back to the "old" font. I did the same thing because I didn't like the new font as well.
