Hooowwdy ho! So there goes some feedback on this (real gem as it turns out to be) ROM. As I initially stated some pages ago, i went thru the install/flash process as i should. Went from official to malez recovery to wipe all to 1.2.17 ( the one b4 the current, maybe it was called .16, dont remember). I then experienced various FC's, random reboots but worse of all terrible battery life. I tried all i could think of. Went back to stock 768Mhz and did a screen-off profile with powersave and max 528Mhz, got rid of all widgets, minimized internet use.. Battery life still was quite lame. I noticed at that time that on battery consumption i was getting something like 'cell standby = 45%' and 'phone idle = 43%' which seemed very odd. Also the phone was quite warm all the time and when the CPU was used heavily (flash videos, heavy page loading etc) the phone was getting boiling hot! Anyways, i was starting to get a bit dissapointed cauz it seemed that the ROM was being pushed back by sometin, wouldnt know what. So when the 1.2.18 was out and managed to get some free time, i went for it. I wiped all and then i.. wiped all again, and again and again (I know, nothing to be gained there, was more of a desperate move) and flashed the newest version. In the beginning i got some weird bootloops and after a couple of times the phone booted alright. Then i had some weird stuff going down with the 3G networks, the phone couldnt get any access to data services, but after a couple of reboots the network was stable. And then.. I started fiddling with it.. and OMG! Im on very moderate overclock (883MHz) no extra profiles, all widgets on and the phone is simply FLYING!! I know ive said that a few times in the past about other ROMs, but this time the change is trully remarkable. The phone is lightning fast on just about everything! Even on tasks like orientation changing (which requires full OS redraw basically) the phones respnds without a hickup. Im 23 hours on battery, in which ive made a few phonecalls, used GMaps outside on HSPA, moderate internet browsing, some fiddling around and the phone still has 38% battery, and doesnt get warmer than normal. Ive also typical liquid problems like switch-on phone delay greatly improved. Hold down home button brings up latest tasks tab very fast and so does switching from task to task. To be honest, i didnt go higher on CPU speed because, well, i dont need it and i dont want to mess with the great (for an AOSP ROM) battery life that i have. On an3dbenchmark i used to score around 5300 at best on past 2.2 ROMs (official or modified) and i get a wooping 5980 (883Mhz) with CM7. All and all, i can firmly say that Liquid A1 on CM7 is a completely new phone for me. The only problem (and quite SERIOUS) that ive had was phonecall ringing and notifications going out the headset speaker and not the back speaker, but since this is a known bug im sure that the devs are on it at the mo. I dont know if other users have experienced such a radical performance bump as i have (i honestly hope that they do) but once this ringtone-notifications bug is sorted out, beverages are on their way for all devs involved in this project. And very well deserved they shall be..

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

EDIT: There still seems to be some inconsistency with data services and 2G/3G networks, or sometimes no network at all. Also flash player crashes web browser in many cases. Still my opinion about the ROM remains the same

EDIT2: Flash player flawless (Southpark Episodes High Quality) when clocked at 768MHz!

hey,

i have the same problem as yesturday with my wifi. i cant find my AP anymore, but its there and working. i can connect to other AP's. did a full wipe and reflashed still no connetion, flashed lcr and connected without a problem. just have the problem with this rom, and i just dont see my AP all others are there! it seems that there are some information about my AP stored somewhere and a wipe dosent deletes them. i deleted, restored, renamed but no results. really annoying.

p.s. what does +1 mean?

ap lists are saved to your google account if I'm not wrong if you enable backup data on my account when you setup syncronization..

+1 means that another person thinks the same as the quoted text..

Yeah well, I havent tested the how the phone goes OC'ed on this update, I am just about to. But on last version 921MHz was as high as i could get without freezing/reboots. Guess Im one of the unlucky ones. But hey, I have gingerbread running (pretty well too) on a 2009 phone, what else can i ask for.

To use sdcard as mass storage just replace /etc/vold.fstab

with this one

adb remount

adb push vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab

adb reboot

for everyone is using app2sd (ext partition) have to remove /system/bin/sdfix file, too. Later we will repack all in an update.zip

sorry for the inconvenience

vold.fstab.zip

One more bug I noticed is when the battery gets low, in my pattern lockscreen, it says something like battery low, please plug in charger (%d%%d) instead of actual percentages left.

seems like my phone is burning thru battery FAAAAST after applying the BT patch.

I've got wifi off, BT on (not synced up, but I wanna make sure it works when I hop into the car)

Gone down from 80% to 48% in under 3 hours, couple quick calls.... been on twitter twice.

When I first got my liquid I had problems with the routers' SSID randomly disappearing from the list overnight. I found other people had similar problems and after a lot of searching on forums (and trial and error myself) some solutions were found. Different things work for different people. The problem may not be with this ROM, so it's worth trying:

If your router has the option of 20MHz or 40MHz set it to 20. When I had my problems I discovered eventually that it was because my router switched between 20 and 40 automatically. For some reason, my liquid would only 'see' the network if it was broadcasting at 20MHz. (I have no idea if that's a general problem/limitation with all Liquids or just mine but after I set it to broadcast at only 20MHz I had no more problems - I have a new router now which doesn't give the option).

Other people later suggested that Liquids cannot support 13 channels, so try setting your router/AP to only use a channel up to 11.

I have updated first post with new experimental bluetooth-touchscreen fix, this time I also include new fstab and modules (added bonus of cifs and tun/tap), hope it works well  (no wipe)
