Can we even get fully working gingerbread or CM7?

Well don't get too excited or you may be disappointed.

But if Acer truly releases 2.2 sources tomorrow it'll be awesome :P

It would... tho I wouldn't get my hopes up, as you said... I don't have much trust in Acer at this point :D

oh i would put more trust in acer;)

acer said we get eclair ...we got eclair acer said we get froyo we got froyo so acer is better then other manufactures like sony or htc with hero;)

This is good news if true. We can backport some of the nice fixes in our custom kernel that is the basis for our AOSP ROMs too.

I am still using modified stock ROMs for my Liquid E until we get to a point where the custom ones can match the stock modified ROMs for performance and features.

-myTouch Slide (leak of FroYo build out, fairly stable, expected to be coming soon)

-HTC Tattoo (went from 1.6 to 2.1)

-HTC G1/Dream (went from 1.0 to 1.5 to 1.6)

-HTC Droid Eris (went from 1.5 to 2.1)

-HTC Hero GSM/CDMA (went from 1.5 to 2.1)

-Acer Liquid Metal (launched with FroYo)

-Acer Liquid Mini (launched with FroYo)

-Acer beTouch E140 (launched with FroYo)

-Acer Stream (got FroYo in Jan)

-Acer Liquid E (got FroYo in November)

-Acer Liquid A1 (released with Donut, upgraded to Eclair, no official upgrade to FroYo tho easy to install from E, still voids warranty)

-Acer beTouch E120 (released with Donut, upgraded tn Eclair)

-Acer beTouch E130 (released with Donut, upgraded to Eclair)

-Acer beTouch E400 (released with Eclair)

-Acer beTouch E110 (stuck on Cupcake)

-Acer beTouch T500 (RELEASED WITH CUPCAKE IN DECEMBER 2010)

Why old? Release date of this sources 2011/02/08. Its pretty fresh :P

oh, this was recently added :D not when they posted the link

-edit- I have done a fast check of the sources, and it is nothing major new really. Mostly it is just the new wifi and rndist driver for wifi/usb tethering. I don't think it will be too difficult to include their changes into our sources

no updates for the touchscreen, maybe also a fix for multitouch working well?
