Guest Master_T Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Is all hardware working with the boot you've just compiled? Yeah, that's the issue I think. It can be built, but it's incomplete, not all hardware works correctly with this kernel... or at least that's what I've understood reading the devs comments.
Guest Varyag Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) thats all so fun... for example: people, all of you (who use windows) using licensed software? all of you have bought all your apps from the market? all of you buying CDs with your fav music? all of you, the same, buying licensed DVDs? ahaha... aha ha aaaah... Guest Lew247 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 It's nothing similar to a person using genuine or "aquired" software, it's about a "company" abiding by the licencing rules.

Okay, works: Proximity sensor, Wifi, Bluetooth USB Tethering, Portable hotspot, Haptic feedback, Calls, Notification leds. No idea what else should I test. I believe that's the kernel we are using on a stock FroYo ROM. And better yet, here is the dhd.ko and zImage. For those who want to test the boot.img the same thing I did, here's my boot.img (ramdisk is from stock Acer ROM + ro.secure=0, ro.debuggable=1). ce251dde1497b9f387bc073b193210d9 boot.img 5f24966dfe291e3791f4db4a23dff67a dhd.ko 4d6ad94e80ad8bb1a5ba3230b707f1f5 zImage I suppose licensing thread can be closed. Guest errmsg Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 What about camcorder? Yep, camera works properly with images and video recording. All sensors work and GPS work too.
Guest endamaco Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) So this are good news.. roggin and koudelka should use your boot.img as a base for cm7 Edited February 13, 2011 by endamaco
Guest errmsg Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 what about fast dormancy? :D Hi koudelka! Thank you for your excellent work of bringing Android to Acer Liquids. Basically I started playing with the device having read your AOSP guide! Back to the topic, I have to admit that I can't test that since I am using GSM network only.
Guest errmsg Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 So this are good news.. roggin and koudelka should use your boot.img as a base for cm7 To give the credits where credits are due, that boot image is only for testing; roggin and koudelka know about androids on acer much more than me. Frankly speaking i started playing with the current kernel having read tons of messages about missing parts, broken build scripts, GPL andand other things. Cross-compilation of that kernel archive is easy, config changes are minimal and the onle-line patch for acer sources is, well, strange :D.
Guest Dario93 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 So this are good news.. roggin and koudthiaelka should use your boot.img as a base for cm7 Naah, this is full 2G vmsplit kernel, impossible to use with CM7 or MIUI and others
Guest endamaco Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Maybe I'm to newbie to understand. I was wondering: koudelka and other our beloved devs are trying to compile the kernels to bring us gingerbread but not all hardware is working (it was the same also with froyo by phh). Now you've compiled the kernel and all it's working. what's wrong? cant't be done the same with cm7?
Guest fischschneehase Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 Can someone add oc frequencies to this new boot.img?:D would be great:)

Guest tmp_do Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 guys, stop spamming please. Normal peoples understand that thise kernel not usable by default, and developers wont use thise crap. They have own, with blackjack and hookers :D

Normal peoples understand that thise kernel not usable by default, and developers wont use thise crap. They have own, with blackjack and hookers :D I don't understand why everybody keeps telling that this kernel is not usable, not working, etc. It compiles, it boots, it runs, it has a finite amount of changes and looks like it is based on codeaurora's one so cherrypicking of the changes from codeaurora's msm kernel + acer overlay should give us the stuff we need to continue working with this kernel or merge the changes to the respective public branches. Regarding vmsplit - nobody forbids us to recompile it with 3G/1G or 1G/3G region split (and nobody gives the warranty that it would work too, though) [ru]И тебе привет, tmp_do. Все-таки ты был прав. После того маразма, что был в motorola ezx, девайс acer'а да и android в целом выглядит конфеткой. Хотя и со своими костылями.

Guest tmp_do Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 i dont said that it not working, i just said that there nothing new and no impotant changes, so i understand why peoples so annoing in thise theard, when we have more intresting and important things

Guest fischschneehase Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 this has already been done, and tmp_do almost has .32 version running :D so is it possible to get anew kernel for lcr f? or just for cm and miui?
