I have the Clockwork Recovery 3.0.0.5 and wanted to share it with you! It's fancier than the previous recoveries and it's more effective. Check it out!

Before installing:

-you must have a rom with fastboot in order to install Clockwork Recovery!

-you must have Android SDK. Recommended destination of the Android SDK: C:\

Installing tutorial:

1. Boot your phone in fastboot mode

2. Connect it to PC

3. Rename your download to recovery.img and put it in C:\

4. Set your destination of cmd to C:\android-sdk-windows\tools. Click

for a tutorial

5. Open cmd

6. Type in order:

fastboot flash recovery C:\recovery.img

fastboot reboot

7. You're done!

To boot into recovery mode:

1. Turn off your phone

2. Press and hold Home+Power key until your phone boots into recovery mode

How to operate in recovery mode:

-volume keys = up and down

-call key = select

-back key = return

Clockwork Recovery is a recovery tool for your phone. When it's flashed, you can boot into recovery and perform backups on your whole system (I mean everything that's on your phone), restore to previous-made backups, you can erase dalvik cache, wipe user data/factory reset, and much more.

Just be aware that 3.0.0.5 was built for CyanogenMod7 (Gingerbread), not Froyo so some update.zip files for Froyo will not work with 3.0.0.5 due to changes in the update-script support...

Apart from it being a nice orange colour, there really is no advantage to this version for Froyo users.

In that case, I'm going back to Clockwork 2.5.1.8. Thanks for the tip. :P

No problem.

If any one wants to read the full facts behind the script change since version 3 here's the developer's announcement:

NOTE: don't try flashing the 2.6 version Koush links in his post above - it's not for our device :D
