Guest inspectorgecko Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Am I right in thinking that everything works fine with swift droid v1.3 public minus the fm radio and video playback or are they still issues with gmail and the market. Ryan

Ryan With google apps, can you copy it over to the sd card, and then install with file manager???
Guest Jamie :) Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 With google apps, can you copy it over to the sd card, and then install with file manager??? no sorry , you need to copy the .zip to the sd card and rename it 'update' restart into recovery (home+power) then use the volume keys to highlight update from sd card then press the call button to select use the back arrow , then click reboot :D
Guest inspectorgecko Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 no sorry , you need to copy the .zip to the sd card and rename it 'update' restart into recovery (home+power) then use the volume keys to highlight update from sd card then press the call button to select use the back arrow , then click reboot :D Ok so after installing the rom, does it contain the recovery option to be able to boot into recovery and do I do that by turning the phone off and then turn on holding down the home and power button. Ryan
Guest AerospaceMango Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 no sorry , you need to copy the .zip to the sd card and rename it 'update' You mean the zip? Or the unzipped folder?
Guest AerospaceMango Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) You mean the zip? Or the unzipped folder? When I boot into recovery.....I just get a black screen! Heeeeelp!!! Then, I have to take the battery out! Edited February 15, 2011 by AerospaceMango
Guest Jamie :) Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) READ 2ND POST ON PAGE 7. ----------------------------------- RENAME THIS ATTACHMENT AS recovery.imgboot.img Edited February 16, 2011 by Jamie :)
Guest AerospaceMango Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 It has to be Zipped for Clockwork Recovery to recognise it and also , i forgot to mention you have to install Clockwork Recovery download the attachment and put it in your sdk folder (where fastboot is) then its the same procedure in flashing the phone but you use the command flashboot boot boot.img fastboot reboot [/codebox] to enter recovery it's (in android) long hold > reboot > recovery (shut down) home + power -------------- edit: 23:21 ; added attachment ;o oops /jamie :D Dammit! Now my PC won't find device to do the fastboot on! Have tried to unplug it and plug in again.... Seems like I'll wait til the morning! CR*P!!!

Guest Jamie :) Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) I am SO sorry. I've renamed the file boot.img when it should be recovery.img. I am so sorry. If you still have the 2.3 files , re flash the boot.img image by fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot restart THEN when it restarts , go back into fastboot mode then using the PREVIOUS attachment STUPIDLY CALLED BOOT.IMG Rename it as recovery.img then; fastboot flash recovery recovery.img fastboot restart Once again , i am SO SORRY. hope it works fine , it worked on mine as i did the same thing earlier and saved it as the recovery.img instructions in my documents , what was i thinking! But LG are going to fix it as it was on their side > the LG Mobile Software updater ..... They would fix it even if you would do it via KDZ Updater, just lie to them, they have no way to check which method u used :D
