not MIUI nor phoenix?

most of the bugs that annoy me are actually miui bugs and not phoenix fault :D

Seriously, someone should add that to first post x)

OnT:

Now I have noticed that the RAM gets very low from time to time... MIUI music player stops playing music sometimes because of low RAM... And playing music and opening Settings, SMS or anything will result in too low RAM and music player stops playing music.

After reboot I have 80MB of RAM, but after a couple of hours listening to music, texting and such stuff my RAM is down to 20-30MB of free RAM.

And one more thing, which google-apps can I uninstall without causing my phone to act weird? :D

RAM management is a no go in this ROM.

I don't think the problem is the port, I think it's because of lack of optimization, after all, the new GB MIUI's interface has been released not so long ago, you'll see when they'll finish the new apps (new Music app for example) they will optimize it.

Until at least the RAM issue gets solved I roll back to 2.2 MIUI which is perfect now :D

from carera?

Yep, from Carrera. Actually for me 1.3.18 it's possibly the best MIUI for our Liquid so far. you need to go in this thread pages 18 & 19 to get the rom and the SMS fix...

BTW, I have a request for devs: in 2.2 Camera and camcorder work, but the saturation is too low, the colors are greyish and the saturation slider in the MIUI camera app doesn't work.

Could a dev somehow fix camera colors in 2.2 MIUI?

Thanks

Only thing that works: restart the phone once in a while...

Somehow the free RAM goes lower, and lower, and lower untill the phone reboots... Would be fun to know if it is the port that's... uhm, f'd up or if it is the original ROM.

Too bad it is like this, 'cause it is (Settings menu for SMS and phone settings are an exception) the smoothest ROM at this moment, and then touch screen feels way more responsive in this ROM if you compare it to ex. CM7, and it does not feel fair to compare it with a 2.2 ROM :D

does using launcherpro have the same effect for you ram wise? I'm trying it on top and it seems more stable.

I never experienced random reboots, but I experienced a lot of "apps closing (mostly launcher) because of lack of RAM", and LauncherPro didn't help...

(I'm talking about 2.3.3 MIUI)

Issues I've faced over the last couple days:

-Running out of ram. On Liquid E and was almost down to 50mb of ram open. It just seems to slowly go down over time. I have to strictly monitor task manager, which always stats SMS is showing open.

-Random reboots. I noticed this mainly when I run short on RAM or using the browser.

-When moving from one home screen panel to another or pressing an icon, the home screen will reset to the primary default panel.

-USB Transfer not working / transferring files / deleting files. (Malez working fine.) Only with USB Mounting. File Managers work fine.

-WiFi will occasionally disconnect. I usually just toggle it on and off to fix, but occasionally I have to restart the phone.

-Battery life is killer in comparison to CM7 or MIUI 1.3.5. I get maybe half the use time.

1. that is a weird thing I have noticed too, rebooting the phone once in a while seems to be the only way to avoid unwanted reboots...

And sms app is always open because of a reason, you don't want to miss sms's, right? That option exists in CM7 too, and you activate it to make sure you will not miss an SMS.

2. ^

3. that is weird, maybe it does not work the way it should for Liquid E? Did you wipe everything you should wipe?

Wifi thing: that is something I experience when you are a bit too far away from the router, but close enough to be able to connect. Seems like it has a hard time to keep the connection when you only have 1 of bars colored :D

That's what I think :D

Ohlawl, my English teacher just wondered why I never wrote that structured as I recently did on a test... like... "who do not you write this structured and with almost no faults at all normally..?"

Maybe because this is something important? =D

After doing some tests, it seems that the SMS app has a memory bug/leak... so i killed the app when it's running and ram comes back. this does not affect getting sms messages as they still come.

So, a work around I guess would be to have this app on an auto task killer so you don't run out of memory or need to reboot every few hours...

Another work around may be to push another Mms.apk, like the one from CM7, yeah I know the UI's not the same, but at least you don't have to kill the SMS app every time. Tried it and the app seems to work and my launcher didn't close after I checked gallery and downloaded all the needed apps on Market, which is good. Need to try further though.

Anyway this week's release looks very promising on the UI side. (check miui-dev) Let's just hope it won't be an april fool xD

maybe try the Mms.apk from miui 1.3.18 or 1.3.5 to see if it works fine ?
