sounds in bootanimation [solved]

is it possible to have sounds in bootanimation ?

and how ?

it's very simple

take any mp3

rename the mp3 in Bootsound.mp3

copy the file in /system/media/audio/ui/

that's all

it's because when i bought my phone from orange there was a sound with the orange's bootanimation

The audio for a boot animation is not found in the zip, and nor is any reference to it. Over on XDA, they have added sound for droid x. I took apart the zip downloads, one is a boot animation, the same as used for the blade, only of course with different folder names/pictures sizes and more pictures etc. The other zip just contains "android_audio.mp3" which they want to be in " /data/local/ "..

I doubt simply putting an "android_audio.mp3" in said directory would play the sound, (though I suppose it may, depending on what ROM your running).

I am led to believe that to enable boot animation sounds you need to delve into "framework-res.apk"....though I may be mistaken.

I'm pretty sure just the sound in the right directory would work.

Look at the original Chinese leak froyo ROM. It played a sound along with the boot animation.

/system/media/ui/Bootsound.mp3

yeah it works

just put a mp3 named Bootsound.mp3

in your rom Fibblesan the file must be /system/media/audio/ui

sound is played at boot

it say droid with the droid eye animation

didn't work for me either, either it's cm7's fault or because i put the animation in /data/local i think.

It is cm's fault I have the fix though over on XDA Works on many devices and roms :D

no - these are pushed via adb rather than "installed" via recovery. Although they could be.

The problem is getting the firmware to play the file, assuming it can/will and then knowing what location to push the file to...

I am very keen to get boot sound working on my Blade and have tried every trick mentioned via Google ...

and have even tried put mp3's in my personalised 'bootanimation.zip' as well as numerous folders.

has anyone actually got it to work on a Blade ?

my current rom is Ginger Stir Fry

but how can it be that this post is marked 'Solved'

when the advice given does not work, and the XDA link is broken also ?
