Guest Pelemane Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 What is this "Rugged Blade"? Finnish magazine Kauppalehti said that it's dustproof, waterproof, and shockproof but I cant find any more info about it..
Guest 90180360 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Im really interested in that 10" 1.2GHz dual core honeycomb tablet I'm really interested in the price of it... $800? :D Edited February 14, 2011 by 90180360
Guest hecatae Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 http://mwc2011.techradar.com/2011/02/zte-s...rbread-handset/ The ZTE Skate UK release date is May 2011.
Guest The-One Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 What's wrong with the Blade's GPU? 3D games run great. Say what? Adreno 200 is very outdated, even paired with a snapdragon on lhe N1 or desire it behaves like crap, adreno 205 on the newer snapdragons fixed this thank god. Just because it runs things doesnt mean its good. I can even understand its inclusion on the msm 7227, but in a newer device with a better platform? Just one word, fail.
Guest Azurren Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 I can even understand its inclusion on the msm 7227, but in a newer device with a better platform? Just one word, fail. I have another word, Cheap :D ZTE could have bought-up a load of these outdated chips for a bargain price :D
Guest 90180360 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Just because it runs things doesnt mean its good. :D What do you use your hardware for, if not for running things? Does anyone know if the new CPU will be ARMv7 (would mean support for Google Earth, Jet Car Stunts, etc.)?

The CPU i bet on the MSM 7230, witch is the one used at the Huawei u8800 (same price range for sure), and then again the Adreno 200 doesnt make much sense because it does not use that one. Yep, noticed that as well. So maybe it's Adreno 205 after all? In any case, MSM7230 would mean ARMv7.
Guest The-One Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Yes. If thats the CPU they pick its pretty good, its a second generation Snapdragon..
Guest Matty-p Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 It seems that 3 new devices from zte where confirmed some times ago at WMC 2011 sadly i found only an italian preview with pictures http://android.hdblog.it/2011/02/14/zte-pr...-light-e-skate/ Zte Skate: Android 2.3 - 4.3″ display - WVGA - 800Mhz - GPU Adreno 200 - 5Mp camera - GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/UMTS - Bluetooth - WiFi - AGPS - G-Sen 7″ capacitive display, Android 2.2, WiFi, GPS, 3G It seems that a 10'' gingerbread dural-core tablet is on the road too, but via http://android.hdblog.itgotta get that phone any word on pricing? Anyone want a oled blade? :D
Guest ricer Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Has anyone got any official statements from ZTE or a telecoms company themselves? If its really £150 and out in May I'm sold.
Guest MatthewJEC Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Adreno 200? Jeez not again that crappy gpu. The phone its huge, by watching the video you can see the screen is not oled cause the blue tint and the blacks are not really blacks, more like a gray'ish. Looks way better build than the blade but if you'd ask me it will only worth it if it is in the same price range the blade was. if it costs more does not worth it, you will probably get better with the arrival of the dual cores and price drops on the single cores. The guy also places it side by side with a Blade. It doesnt look that big by the end of the video but at the start, i actually thought it was a midget holding the phone :D Decent price tho and this phone will be in my pocket in no time :D
Guest Lew247 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 We are all guessing at the price of the phone - it hasn't been announced yet and it won't be available till May so no hurry to get rid of the blades yet but if it's cheap enough I'm getting one too :D
Guest 90180360 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 ZTE promises smartphones below $100 “ZTE wishes to act as a key driver to democratize the mobile Internet experience,” Shiyou said. “We believe high prices have been the bottleneck to adoption.” At the same time, ZTE will also start offering higher-end products in the $200-plus segment and work to increase awareness of the ZTE brand in Europe and the U.S., though it will continue to provide handsets on a wholesale basis to operators as well. Probably the Skate will be in the "$200-plus segment", sounds like they want to sell directly to customers though!
Guest 90180360 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 @MWC: ZTE Goes For The High End With The Skate One other key area, says Zhang, is that, unlike a lot of the other Android OEMs, ZTE also sells network equipment: this means that ZTE can sell “total solutions”—at very competitive prices. She says that ZTE has such agreements with 28 of the top 30 operators worldwide. And that's why we got this incredible Orange deal with the Blade.
Guest Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) it says ARM11 cpu :D It supports flash :D more info: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/zt...eview-50002729/ http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/zte-skate-...bread-50002711/ http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/38549/zte-...erbread-handset Edited February 14, 2011 by Guest
Guest 90180360 Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 it says ARM11 cpu :D ARM11 would actually mean ARMv6 :) It supports flash :D If I get this right, they base this statement on the fact that the Skate runs Android 2.3...
Guest Theme Ishere Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) it says ARM11 cpu :D It supports flash :D A phone with ANdroid 2.3 and no flash would have been pretty poor anyway! I am looking forward to the official price point, if it is not tooooooo expensive, I could consider getting one. Especially as the Blade is still getting some cash back via ebay. And yes, I am too lazy to double check whether I have missed it: ANy words about the resolution? Ahh, found it. 480*800. Like. Edited February 14, 2011 by Theme Ishere
