Can you describe more detail? Does it was happened at boot up time, or after?

6. I have battery drain fast problem!

I think it was caused by compcache.

(After many days test, the battery drain was caused by swap thrashing. So, at this moment the only thing we can do is change swapiness value)

hello

thx for the amazing work

4 questions:

1) how to change swapiness value? and which value is the optimal one in order to minimize battery drain?

2) is it possible to switch on compcache but to switch off swap?

3) is it possible to switch on compchache by the last version of liquid settings?

4) in setcpu there is a profile called powersave. what does it do? is it effecive in order to contain battery drain because of OC?

thx a lot

Hi ritchen could you please upload sources and your config somewhere? I'm trying to build a custom kernel for acer based rom since days but I got many problems with koud/roggin/thepasto kernels, since they are a bit too different from stock acer one..

I would like to build cifs module, and set clock speed to default 768000 still allowing higher frequencies via setcpu (editing msm frequency tables like phh did)....

Thanks in advance!

Attached is boot.img, 883mhz with lcr-f 2.0 ramdisk.. just unpacked and repacked with koud's perl scripts

headset works and also wifi with acer provided module.. great!

i have flashed oc_lcr.zip ,and it can boot but the max cpu freq is always 245,the same to the min freq.

i must use setcpu to reset the max freq to 768(768 is the max) after it boot everytime,

can your new boot.img solve the problem?

and i have comfirm that this kernel can use ext2 and swap!

Did you use oc_lcr.zip? It's so strange, some people say it works, and others say it's not?

1. You can look at first page, in compcache section i add command to change swapiness value.

In theory, if your system install lots apps, you need to change this value lower.

Because android system always load as much programs as your memory can keep, it will fill not most use app to swap.

And when you execution a hung memory app, the system will kill the programs you preload before.

So your swap will very busy, and always do compresss and decompress, it use lots battery.

2. compcache is one kind of swap, but it will compress the memory data before swap in to save more swap space, and the swap storage is in your memory.

3. I didn't try this app yet, so i can't tell

4. In SetCPU, you can change CPU scaling government.

If you choose performance, then even there is nothing to do, CPU always running at highest frequency as you set.

In the other hand, when you choose powersave, it will try use lowerest frequency to operation, so you can save battery.

Hi ritchen, I've seen today that you built a new version. Later I'll try to flash it..

Any change to have the source tree with your patches somewhere?

Thanks for your work..

Note to users: with the OC kernel, the phone boots @ 245-245 Mhz (min-max freq.) so it's VERY laggy. Remember to use SetCpu

It's sounds a little strange, it won't boot at that low frequency

I wll check it again!

Yes, You are right! I have mistype in one file, and I will upload the fixed kernel.

Thanks for your feedback :P

noticed this as well, very laggy is an understatement lol.

I ended bumping it up to 998mhz and my battery life has improved.

how did you do so?

moreover is the tun/tap module working?

I'm not sure I understand your question, sorry but I'll do my best.

I flashed the latest kernel via malez recovery, it booted up at 245mhz, slowly but surely launched setcpu and bumped the clock speed up to 998mhz.

Thanks rithchen for releasing it without MT patch  downloaded it yesterday. But I still have the same problem. Screen goes crazy. I assume its some sort of hardware problem at this point, as I don't see anyone else having the same problem lol So I'll just stick to stock speeds.

What is the minimum speed you've set in Setcpu? I just set the minimum value to 245MHz, and set the govorner mode to "SMARTASS"

Min value is the default 245, max is 998.....cool story bro :)
