Guest windin101 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 The vega lacks the WWAN daughter board that consists of the SIM card slot and a mPcie socket No one has so far been able to source this part which is bloody annoying but there you go
Guest tomolewis Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Thanks for the feedback............. does anybody have the pinouts part the daughter board connects too? thanks -Tom
Guest windin101 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 no thats another thing I have been trying to find the connector on the board has 15 pins its does not seem to relate to the standard mPcie pin out in anyway I can see I
Guest flip.c Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 Obtaining a service manual would be handy too; though where you'd get one from, I don't know. Maybe the manfacturer (Shuttle, I think) or myadventvega? Phill

Yes I have been keeping my eye out for that as well, the service manual would be invaluable failing that if we could get someone who has the board we could trace out the connections on the mainboard to the mpcie socet on the daughterboard, the mechanical key pins will be going to the SIM slot so thats taken care of it would just be tracing which 15 pins on the mpcie socket the 15pins on the main board line up with so what we need is a very nice man with a PoV Mobii Tegra or Smartbook 360 willing to spend a couple of hours getting us the information :D

I've tried zooming in on photos taken by those brave enough to have ripped their vega apart to try and get a butcher's for such numbers, but no joy. I also thought about adding an external mic. socket as my internal one is naff. Static, I think, as the shielding doesn't look too great around the internal mic.
Guest Uzi74 Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 I've opened up my POV, I'm also one of the unlucky ones - so no daughter board and SIM slot.. I have a flat sim cover, but my serial starts with TEGRA though.... I hope the rubber feets have enough glue left on them and won't fall off...
