Guest johnniewalker39 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 There is something that really annoys me about O2: I have set a longer ~15sec sound to notify me when I have a new SMS (so i can be sure i hear it in crowded places). The problem is that it plays the whole sound, each time i receive a new SMS, even if i'm using the phone and tapping the screen, no matter what app i'm running, it just keeps playing the whole sound until it ends. Only by pressing the end call / red button i can stop it from ringing, but it's annoying because that button also gets me to desktop (and on some apps it works as an exit button - really annoying!!). No other button works. For instance, if i'm already in Inbox reading SMSs, and i receive a new SMS, i have to press the end call button to stop it from ringing, which exits to desktop, and then i have to go back to Inbox again to read it. :D Each time i receive a SMS, i have to exit whatever app i'm using, by pressing that button just to stop it from ringing! It happens the same with any ringing sound (for example if i put a 3min song, it plays it ALL!). When on vibrate profile, it doesn't ring but instead vibrates for exactly 15s (or the exact length of whatever sound is set as incoming SMS notice) - it's just one creepy looooooong vibration. I don't know if i'm the only one who encounters this problem, or if this is a common problem. I've done some searching and found nothing about this yet. I'm using WM 6.5.3 So, is there a solution to stop the incoming SMS notification sound from ringing, just by tapping the screen? Thanks!
Guest johnniewalker39 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Can at least anyone confirm/infirm me if they encounter the same problem ? How does your phone behave when you receive an incoming SMS ? It keeps ringing even if you tap the screen ? Is this a problem or is it normal ? Please help, it's really annoying. Thank you!
Guest Neo3 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I have the same problem, so I changed to a short sound. I have no other solution :D
