Guest probals Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 If you search for CooTek in the market place you will find it. Don't worry about the Chinese symbols it works absolutely fine in English :( Then go into your settings and Language and Keyboard. You can set it up there. then long press in an input field (text message or email) and choose it as your default input method :( Nice and easy Touchpal :) You are a legend, mate. Thx.
Guest rak007 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 I have installed touchpal in my blade and also downloaded the language pack. I am facing an issue with it, as in when i am using the normal 12 key numpad, the word prediction comes in chinese and not in english. How can i get prediction in english ??

Guest dazbaz996 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 After a few days of using 10b I am much happier now. I did find one thing though which was to do with the battery consumption. One minute it would say I am at 57% and net thing I found out I was at 43%. It felt that the battery gauge wasn't working as it should have done. So I did the total drastic thing. I drained the blinking thing till the battery was 0%. Drained it totally and then recharged too a 100% Since then not a problem, the battery is more efficient in terms of it's percentage, much better in lasting and is spot on in terms of saying how much juice is left in the battery. I did the same to the missus's san fran and again it's running more smoothly. Just thought I'd let you know. So far I haven't had a problem in terms of apps I have been using, Handcent Diarler one, Swype etc etc. The only two small glitches were that the android market lost all my listing off apps? Which confused me, and Rom manager. The Rom manager when you use it drains the battery so fast it's scary. On the whole I have only had one boot up issue which I have mentioned earlier on in here. Oh that reminds me.... Notification Ringtones On JJ9 when you go through your ringtones and notification tones - for ringtones the listing would come up as "Ringtone" & notifications as 'Notifications' now on 10b both come up as 'Ringtones' is that a glitch or something that can be edited in the files? Thanks for the good work so far, I look forward to seeing this getting better and better I can second this. I was having problems with my battery also. Last night I drained it to 0% and the phone shut down, then I recharged it but I didn't turn it off. It was fully charged at at 11.30 pm. It is now, 1.33pm and I have made a few calls and texts and the battery is at 94%. This is really good compared to the performance I was having over the last couple of days. I am going to repeat this cycle over the next few days to see if this increases the battery operation further.
Guest mirko2002 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Hey Community, i have a problem with all versions of this ROM... its negligible which version i tried.. i started this rom with version 7 and tried now all new versions till v10 but still the same problem: Everything works fine - just MMS doesn't work. I come from Germany and my provider is E-Plus. All Internet settings and all MMS settings are correct. Internet works fine... but if i recieve a MMS the mobile phone isn't able to download the attachment... also if i try to send a MMS its not able to get a connection... but i don't know why. Everything seems correct. Same settings on mobile phones with original roms working great... but on this phone i give up. I have no idea why this doesn't work. is anyone there and can help me in this situation? Does have anyone a idea?

Guest Poodha Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) I haven't read the entire thread, so forgive me if I missed it anywhere, but couldn't find it skimming through the first and last pages. 1. Where are the settings for the powerwidgets in the notification tab? Can you change the icons? 2. Where is the alarm? Usually when I want a shortcut from my clock(widgetsoid) I just chose alarm, but in this ROM I only find clock. So if I press my clock, it goes to clock, and from there I can go to alarm. Is there any way to cut one step out? 3. Have there been any problems with market and this rom or is it just market that's iffy today/last night? I can't dowlnoad and install anything from market(although googles own apps updated themselves, and I was also able to download maps). 4. Where is NoFrills cpu control on the phone? Can't find it? None that I am aware of, I downloaded from the market last night just fine 4. No frills comes from the extras flash I believe

Now it is sorted after downloading from market.

Going to check out the extras and look for another alarm app. Nobody but me that have problem with downloading from market with FLB? I had no problems using JJ. I emptied cash, removed data and even unistalled updates(although I have no idea what that does) but nothing works. I can browse market, but not download anything.
Guest bhf Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Did you fiddle with your cache size? Ie. reduced it to less than 5 MiB? Well that could be the cause of all your trouble.
Guest muller37 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 2. There is no direct link for the alarm, it goes through the default clock app. i wanted the stock alarm also. if you unzip the jj rom you'll see a folder called apps under system i believe. in this folder you have all the app apk files. copy the alarm.apk, put it on your sd card and install using filer. :( would upload it but not sure how

Here is the stock alarm for froyo works fine. After you download just rename to Alarm.apk as modaco dont allow you to upload apk.Alarm.zip

And it worked. Just downloaded it =) Did you fiddle with your cache size? Ie. reduced it to less than 5 MiB? Well that could be the cause of all your trouble. Probably not, since I don't even know how to do it. How do you do it? =) EDIT: Nevermind, it was a stupid user error. Must have mucked up the settings in droidwall when I restored it in FLB, market worked after I disabled it. FLB works like a charm now. A lot snappier in menus than JJ and games runs a bit better as well. Love the notification widget and this will be perfect when I installed the ZTE Smart dialer(don't use FB or Twitter anyway) until there is a stable gingerbread ROM. Anybody know how the battery life is in FLB compared to JJ? Does the hardware acceleration take more power? Edited March 10, 2011 by Poodha
Guest Hpman48 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Did you fiddle with your cache size? Ie. reduced it to less than 5 MiB? Well that could be the cause of all your trouble. I guess this was a question for me with the download issue on market. Yes my cache partition is reduced to 4.5 Mbyte. But i thought market hs a own cache dir on /data/data/com...vending/cache. However is it possible to redirect all apps from cache partition to a separate dir on sdcard (Symlink). Hpman48
Guest jbfyou Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Hi there, Is on r10b an simple way to move the dalvik-cache to the sd cards ext partition?
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 FACEBOOK WIDGET FEEDBACK God this thread is huge already :( I am using an: GREY ORANGE SF OLED SCREEN 512mb RAM 3mp CAMERA Seems to revert to old data, using the stock launcher, I will try with spb mobile shell for oyu soon and keep you posted. opening the app allows me to see more recent data
Guest Poodha Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) Damn it, knew I shouldn't have tried my luck with the smartdialer... I installed it, but it mucked everything up, so I rolled back with the froyodialer. But seems like the smartdialer is still left in the phone? Reinstalling the froyodialer doesn't wipe the smartdialer? Call me anal, but I rather install FLB fresh then. Is there any way to completely remove the dialer? Edited March 10, 2011 by Poodha
Guest arunssed Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Hi Guys, Been noticing the blue tint on my OLED after I flashed it with 10b. Was previously on the Stock Orange ROM. Is there anyway I can get this fixed? Can someone help? :(
Guest shanewaz Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Hi, sorry for 2 more quick questions. 1) When I originally used Clockwork for my first update I used a win 7 machine. However I don't have access to one (in English), and when I tried pressing the 'up volume' when turning on my Blade, under XP it said it didn't recognise the hardware and came up with that annoying screen where it asks for the disks / look online for drivers. My question is can I still install clockwork through CMD or will this be an issue, as I can't remeber if it happened with Win 7 as well (unfortunatly I don't have access to a Win 7 machine here in English as I'm in China - otherwise I'd just borrow a friends one!) 2) Another member kindly posted an answer to my message about how to keep my apps. They mentioned to back up with Titanium Back up and simply copy them to my 'puter and then put back in with the APK file. Howver, when I look under my Titanium Folder after it's been backed up I don't see any APK files. Am I doing this incorrectly? I've followed the steps on the TB website / wiki but still don't see any APK files. Any answers?

If you have titanium backup installed in your phone, then just go to backup/restore tab and uninstall the DIALER application. It will remove the ZTE smart dialer from the phone. I too was facing FCs with it and reverted back to froyo dialer.
Guest rak007 Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Can someone help? :( Did you face this issue with only this version of FLB ROM or any other version too ?? If earlier version worked fine then i suggest you flash to that for the time being and revert back to 10b or later (whenever it arrives) after the issue is fixed. I too have a OLED blade and have not found any such issue :(
Guest Don Martin Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Still experiencing trouble with WiFi dropping whenever I let my Orange San Francisco sleep. Even with the Wifi Setting set to "Never" drop Wifi. I just switched from a stock 2.1 ROM to r10b (with the extras; wiped system, data, cache, dalvik cache first). Additionally, I can't reconnect to Wifi; it worked once, but now it won't connect anymore, even if I'm 100% sure that it's reachable...
