Guest Manbag Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 The reports on battery life are varied, some have great performance and some have very poor, I fall in the latter. I had to go back to the stock orange rom where I am getting 3/4 days out of a charge, where I was lucky to get a day out of 10b. Same here. I'm just about getting a day out of it. I've noticed a high pitch noise coming from the mouth piece on a few occasions, am wondering if this is linked? I've just got Android Assistant. Nothing jumps out as being the main offender: Launcher Pro 7.05% Swype 5.36% Watchdog Lite 2.3% Dialer 1.2% (Seems high?) SIMIClock 1.09% Facebook 0.85% Then everything else is below 0.5%. Any clues on this? I've read about the battery usage stats wipe, will this help. What exactly do I need to do?
Guest RaptorIndia Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I got my GPS to work again, without re installing !! What I did was booted into Recovery and then wiped the cache and the dalvik cache.. it was just a wild hunch but everything is super smooth now !! Thanks again.
Guest pjoates Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I have flashed FLB r10 and to answer your question wifi seems to be working fine on SF OLED 3mp. I have just one problem and that is that APN setup has disappeared from where it was, ie Menu, Settings, Wireless & Networks, Mobile Networks,Access Point names. My family send me pictures using MMS! How to restore please. Paul Oates

Guest Miracle Boy Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks. I will have to take alooks at what's eating the battery then. At the moment it mainly shows Android system 98%. The difference is that with this rom I have gmail and facebook apps, but i don't allow them to sync so really they shouldn't be active. Lew247 (Moderator) Reported that he had poor battery life on R10b due to a problem with the facebook app. He Removed the app with Android Commander & then downloaded the facebook app through the market. He reported much better battery life having replaced the app. Personally, I don't use facebook, I removed the app before installing the ROM. Hope this helps!!

Guest andy9876 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Any reason why I've only got the rooster alarm? The wifi is still pretty buggy on 10b and needs manually switching on multiple times daily. I'm on a uk tft phone using 2.6.32.9. Should I change to a different kernel? I thought I had a problem because I only had the rooster alarm available when trying to set a new alarm, then I realised it might be as a result of setting the phone to silent that I could not change the alarm sound. When I turned the volume up as if by magic all the different sounds were available for me to pick from. Therefore, in my view, there is no problem with the clock in the 10b rom.
Guest bloedot Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) To get the ball rolling I'd like some feedback about the wifi in r10. Does it work OK for you? If you have problems could you post with your phone type (San Francisco, Blade etc) and state if it's OLED or TFT and 3mp or 5mp camera. If the wifi was flawless in any previous version of FLB or another ROM then please state this also along with the rom version. Hi there. Just got my hands on a new Orange San Francisco, bought it in the UK, TFT screen, 3mp camera, stock rom. Went through the usual hazzle of first reading half a dozen forums, finding a few proper guides and finally ending up with probably a good rom. Long story short: wifi doesn't work. Trying to connect to a WPA2 network, worked flawlessly with the stock rom, not working with the r10b (authenticating, waiting ..., not connected - over and over again same result). Cleared caches, factory reset, rebooted more than once. Actually the rom looks pretty good, but without wireless, it's useless to me (well, to my wife, to be honest :(. Help appreciated. Trying JJ9 Basic HW Acc RDS AHB SF.zip, will let you know whether that works better ... regards,... bloodot Update: forget my post :D Edited March 17, 2011 by bloedot
Guest lesa0208 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 i got wierd porblem on my sd card. I flash rom install apps some are on phone memory some on sd, i reboot my phone and my phone boot up, but say that sd card is missing i took and put sd im my laptop and all my folder are gone, i have some files with chinese letters
Guest rak007 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Assuming an official 2.2 ROM comes (or has it already ?? ) and using a modded ROM based on that, can we expect a better battery life out of that ? If the official ROM for ZTE blade has still not arrived then when is it expected ?? The Dell XCD35 (rebranded blade for Indian market) seems to have froyo since the official Dell India page lists so.. Check this below http://www.dell.com/in/p/mobile-xcd35/pd?c...&redirect=1

I have an elderly Draytek 2800 ADSL modem/router & an application called 'Connectify' which allows my Windows 7 PC to become an AP for the WiFi, both are using WPA2/PSK & have never had an issue with either connection or authentication to either AP from either phone. Both APs have DHCP services running & to further reduce conflict, the Draytek binds a different fixed IP address to each of the phone's MAC addresses. The last sentence is my suggestion for things to consider when getting a reluctance to authenticate & acquire an IP address.
Guest tyrol_gangster Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Regarding the signal loss issue: Wow. This actually works, and gets the bars back pretty fast. Judging from this, it's hopefully just a display issue. Can anyone confirm this? I noticed the signal loss happens when my wifi turns on after coming back from sleep. I wonder if this can be fixed in this ROM. Otherwise this ROM works very well for me. Unfortunately this ultra annoying bug is more serious than being just a display issue as it prevents the phone from actively using the network (you CANNOT MAKE CALLS or SEND MESSAGES etc). At least the 'passive' bit works ok (you can receive calls, not sure about messages though).
Guest lesa0208 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 (edited) i notice one more problem, i using 10b and when i use phone for about one hours my phone get little warm (that is ok not too warm just little) and if i try to install apk from my sd card i can't because my phone restart when installation begins, does anyone have a similar problem Edited March 17, 2011 by lesa0208
Guest c-m Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 So i removed the facebook app. Turned everything off. Charged the phone to 100%. Went to sleep and when i woke up it was at 66% On Japanese JellyFish, I would wake up and the phone be at 99% - definatley something wrong with this rom. Battery history shows: Running 100% Screen on 1.7% Wifi 0.1% wifi running 0.1% Battery use shows: Android system 65% Cell standby 18% Phone idle 18%

I'll test the JJ rom to see if the battery problem disappear. Can i ask you which version of JJ rom you had before?

Using Android Assistant isn't helpful. All apps using few battery if you look at Android Assistant. I think there's an app that's preventing the OS going to sleep. The problem is: how to find it?

I've never used android assistant so I dunno if it's meant to be doing the same thing but in the spare parts app, go to battery history and change other usage to partial wake usage. Anything with a long bar in there is keeping your phone awake.

Many people reported this battery leak because of the new RDS radio app and kernel modification, related to this ... but nobody seems to give a damn about this *major* roms/kernel/app problem. Anyway, charge to 100% and do a battery cache wipe from recovery. This helped me 2-3 time already.
