I've never used android assistant so I dunno if it's meant to be doing the same thing but in the spare parts app, go to battery history and change other usage to partial wake usage. Anything with a long bar in there is keeping your phone awake.

sometimes the problem app is not shown there

if you can wake up the phone with the hard keys then go through the apps that are running, kill each one in turn until the phone doesnt wake

Hi guys.

Previously i was running JJF8.

In spare parts i've just looked at partial wake usage since last unplugged and see the following:

Android system (has a tiny tiny blue bar next to it)

UID 10021

Dailer

Media

NetCounter

Messaging

None of these have any percentage figures next to them.

I have never used the radio app, and i have deleted the facebook app.

I wiped the battery stats after installing the G2 rom for the first time, but i guess i could charge up and try that again.

It is the radio . Many people reported this battery leak because of the new RDS radio app and kernel modification, related to this ... but nobody seems to give a damn about this *major* roms/kernel/app problem.

Anyway, charge to 100% and do a battery cache wipe from recovery. This helped me 2-3 time already.

If it's caused by the radio then remove the FMRadio.apk. The small changes adding RDS support are only activated when you are running the radio app.

I will report back to night to morning %age drop tomorrow on my blade. Have recharged to 100% as of now.

Using 3G sucks the battery like a stopwatch counter :D

But i guess that is expected.

Btw will increasing the clock speed also eat significantly more battery in blade and what is the max SAFE clock speed i should put it to ?

Max available is more than 800 Mhz

I like 10B rom. Thanks FLB for it!

But seems to me that the compass is no longer working, on the previous ROM (orange stock version) it works well. Does someone has problem with compass?

GPS works !

The max safe speed is 600 :( The maximum speed of your cpu will be different from everyone else. 710mhz seems common but some will max out higher and some lower. You'll only know by testing your individual phone yourself.

closed all apps, though of course some come back after a time. but even then the phone is not sleeping. If i press the home or back button the screen comes on.

This wasn't the case under JJF.

Apps running (that have been closed but come back on) are:

Places - i've never used this it's useless to me can i delete it?

Gmail - i don't really use that app either

Netcounter - a hand tool for monitoring net access

I've installed this ROM two days back but i've got huge battery drain. I did a battery recalibration and I checked if the phone was sleeping correctly. Then I found out the Dialer was using a lot of network usage. Thought that bug was fixed some time ago but not for my Blade I guess. :D

Now i'm back to MoDaCo r12. Apart from this battery thing, FLB-Froyo is a very good ROM. Keep up the good work and I will try again with r11!

I have flashed FLB r10 and to answer your question wifi seems to be working fine on SF OLED 3mp.

I have just one problem and that is that APN setup has disappeared from where it was, ie Menu, Settings, Wireless & Networks, Mobile Networks,Access Point names.

My family send me pictures using MMS!

How to restore please.

Now my Browser ( the default one ) does not function at all... !!

I cold booted, soft booted.. reset the cache and did all I can except installing anew, but the browser doesn't function.

what to do?

re my previous post about MMS - I have now found the setup page in Froyo at Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile Networks - GSM/UMTS Options - Access Point Names. Not sure that I have got it working yet though.

There are some little glitches - turning back on after sleep takes a few presses of power button. When an App closes down it leaves a large icon on the screen which has to be removed using the home key. GPS seems less sensitive - takes longer to find location.

I prefer to use Skyfire - can I uninstall the included browser? What is the point of the settings app when you just need to press a button?

Dailer is not even running on mine so that's not the cause of battery drain in my case

This sounded like Stalin once said : "Есть человека , есть проблема. Нет человека, нет проблема." :D

I want to have both the RDS feature and normal battery drain. Shouldn't be that hard if someone pays attention to this problem.

btw, its not your rom to blame, JJ9 also has it.

Yeh, it's something andorko will need to fix in his app. Really needs to be a way to quit the app properly as it still runs when you close it.

So i removed the facebook app. Turned everything off. Charged the phone to 100%. Went to sleep and when i woke up it was at 66%

This happens also to me.

I'm not an expert but i think the only task active when the phone is switched off is the alarm. And also active when the phone is switched on.

Could be it's buggy?

I got my GPS to work again, without re installing !!

What I did was booted into Recovery and then wiped the cache and the dalvik cache.. it was just a wild hunch but everything is super smooth now !!

Thanks again.

Nice one m8 ... I had the same problem, but your cure fixed it :D

I had a battery drain issue once....after some time it worked out to be an app...as simple as that...Unfortunately I deleted lots of apps etc and could not fine which one it was...Good Rom.... :D

When I turn my phone off with this ROM, I find that when I turn it back on the touch screen can be unresponsive lockscreen.

I have to keep taking the battery out numerous times for it to finally start working again.

Does anyone know the possible cause of this and of any possible fix?

Thanks

So i removed the facebook app. Turned everything off. Charged the phone to 100%. Went to sleep and when i woke up it was at 66%

On Japanese JellyFish, I would wake up and the phone be at 99% - definatley something wrong with this rom.

Battery history shows:

Running 100%

Screen on 1.7%

Wifi 0.1%

wifi running 0.1%

Battery use shows:

Android system 65%

Cell standby 18%

Phone idle 18%

I only loose between 10-15% overnight with 3g left on, gmail, facebook and twitter syncing all night long.

I do wonder if these issues are battery calibration issues.

Simplest way (that most laptops calibrate batterys) is to run the battery completly flat, the reset battery stats and boot straight away into running OS and charge the battery until full (100% may arrive before fully full).

I do find that my phone stays on 100% charged for a long time - so I think there is a benifit to leaving your phone to charge for 30 minutes (on wall socket) or 1 hour (if via pc usb) to get extra charge in.

Cheers, Nick

The rom is very good for me

I have had batt drain problems with stock cleaned 2.1 roms in the past

but havnt had any with this

My phone has been on for 2 days though i havnt used it

and just went to check and its at 99%

710mhz crashed on my oled

im at 692

My kid's LCD i just installed 10b edited to 692 though it may oc more

but i have been too lazy to check as its not my phone

I usually delete any apk's i dont want from apps in the zip

and edit the overclock file

and just flash it straight on and havnt had one problem

Ive run the last 3 builds and am very impressed with it

Excellent MOD, switched to it from CM7, and really happy how fast and reliable it is.

The only issue I'm experiencing is that setting Wi-Fi Sleep Policy to Never does not work as it should. The phone doesn't keep the wifi after screen turns off.

Or better say in some rare cases it does (or it seems to me so), but almost always - it doesn't.

Hope this will be solved someday with this firmware. Keep up your good job!

Ok so last night while going to sleep at 11:45 PM the battery level was at 97% and in morning at around 7 AM the battery level had dropped to 80%. Also there was no network connectivity but i cannot blame this since the SIM card i am using in this phone, the network connectivity at my home is definitely poor. So chances are that during the night the network connectivity must have dropped and even completely turned off and phone must be constantly trying to connect to the preferred network which was eating battery. May be when i put my main SIM card which has better connectivity i will get better battery.

Also i found that the super user in this is flawed since many a apps like "shoot me" keep on saying that it is not able to get root privileges. In such scenarios, i have to again root my phone using Universal Androot and then it accepts the root privileges.

Also under spare parts, the partial wake usage during night was

Android system (approx 20% - Blue bar was at like approx 20% of total)

Media - 5% (may be because of alarm)

As per Android Assistant

Go launcher EX is using 22.31% battery (Can this be culprit ??)

Other things are less than 2%

Just out of interest, do the people getting battery drain turn their phones off?

I haven't turned my phone off now, or power cycled, for well over 3 weeks now. I've not had one issue.

Battery lasts about 3-4 days, with 3G on and FB, weather and Twitter updates. As well as the normal surfing, market place etc.

I do put my phone into Airplane (sic) mode everynight, instead of turning it off, and this results in 0% battery drain when I come to it in the morning. I'm running 9b ROM, with the phone overcloked to 650Mhz when the screen is on and underclocked to between 200-300MHz when the screen is off.
