Guest dibbles Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 So any one with a grey IMEI number ending 077xxx or later working without issues? My wife's grey SF IMEI number ends in 077etc and it works fine with the flb r10 ROM.
Guest as500 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 My wife's grey SF IMEI number ends in 077etc and it works fine with the flb r10 ROM. My first SF (IMEI not recorded) arrived a couple of weeks ago, but was sent back to be replaced as touchscreen not working after putting JJ9 on. I flashed the replacement tonight with FLB R10, working fine. IMEI ends in 084xxxx (phone was on a stock Orange B10 UK rom before flashing). Both phones came from onestopphoneshop.co.uk
Guest 2brains Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Just though I would update everyone, installed original rom back on phone (still non working touch screen) and took it back to shop for a replacement got a new one with IMEI digits: 1111xxx which is running its first custom rom (modaco) without issue. Gonna try one or 2 other roms now
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 it seems all phones with 09....... doesn't work ? it's because my blade has toasted (i have toasted my blade with an unknown car charger of a friend :D ) i'll get a new one monday from orange it will be perhaps a b10 model to be continued ......
Guest hcc27 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 My story echoes the many that are being reported on the new B10 ROM. Bought one SF (white) for my other half last month online from ADVERTISING SPAM which came with the standard 08 ROM. Quickly unlocked, rooted and ClockworkMod-ed, and installed Paul's Froyo MCR r12 which runs flawlessly. Decided to buy one for myself and get rid of my iPhone 3G and Pulse, which seemed ancient in comparison to the SF! The local Argos had one (black), bought it y'day and as soon as I switched it on could tell immediately that the screen looked different to the white. It had very high contrast at the same brightness setting as the white, even with the brightness turned up the black's screen was less 'easy' on the eyes compared to the white's. Colours definitely look better on the white. A quick look at these forums and sure enough, the white's TFT screen was 'TRULY' and the black's, 'LEAD'. The LEAD screen looks a lot darker than the TRULY at the same brightness level as the contrast was exceptionally high, colours looked darker and lowlights mostly lost due to the high contrast when having the same wallpaper. OK, so proceeded to root the Black SF, ClockworkMod installed fine, and tried Paul's Froyo MCR r12 Froyo ROM first. It booted fine and presto, the touchscreen was completely irresponsive!! Pressed the MENU button and one option seemed permanently highlighted in amber as if a key was being pressed continuously, back to the home screen and after careful examination noted what one poster has already reported..the two tiny dots at the bottom left of the screen were also highlighted in orange. Pressing the screen lightly at the top didn't change things. Removed battery and rebooted into recovery by holding PWR and (-) volume together (for some reason the standard + vol button doesn't work!!). Restored the original Orange B10 ROM from the Nandroid backup I had made initially, touchscreen working perfectly! Tried installing JJ9 and FLB r10b Froyo ROMs and got the exact same result (no touchscreen) - I managed to get the touchscreen working once with FLB but a reboot put paid to that. After much frustration, went back to the Orange B10 and touchscreen is working perfectly again, silky smooth. Seems definitely an issue with the firmware ? on these black B10 phones and the Froyo ROMS. My IMEI ends 09857XX. If it were a hardware fault it shouldn't work perfectly with the stock ROM every time, right? Probably will take back the black B10 SF to Argos as apart from the touchscreen issue, the LEAD screen is truly horrible compared to the TRULY (pun unintended).
Guest Berndvh Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 couldnt it be that most roms only work on TFT TRULY and not on TFT LEAD? i dont know if there are problems with TRULY but i do see people having problems with their LEAD screen.
Guest sambartle Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) I've got two Grey B10's with the LEAD screen type which both work fine with all custom ROMs. IMEI is 084xxx on one and unknown on the other (I'll check later) Edited March 23, 2011 by sambartle
Guest Solid Cactus Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Same situation here. Bought a Black SF last week. Stock ROM works fine but any custom ROMs the touchscreen doesn't function. What do I need to grab to help out here?
