Guest patsy Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Hi I just found this thread after search on the blue flicker thing, i never realized it was temperature related. My story is i have a ZTE blade that was working perfect with an early rom of Modaco. Then i decided to update it with flb-froyo-r11b, Straight after i was installing bits from app market when its started the screen flicker thing, as with others the annoying flicker goes when i use the phone for a while, also i would like to say mine definitely flashes sometimes on boot with the android screen showing. I have also another of these phones which is ok but i have not put any new roms on it in quite a while.

Guest patsy Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Another point! i and wondering if certain roms or maybe its just happens, that when you re-flash them they tend to slightly over heat around the top off the screen where the USB plugs in, and it actually damages the screen, This is what i think may happen.
Guest rwalton159 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I have noticed that over the past few weeks, when I'm in a cold place i.e. garage or outside, the screen starts to act up regardless of rom. When I put it in my pocket or go back into a warm place the screen is fine. The phone was okay up to the last few weeks and as it was bought in October 2010 its not under warranty.

When I put it in my pocket or go back into a warm place the screen is fine. The phone was okay up to the last few weeks and as it was bought in October 2010 its not under warranty. I´ve got the same problem since more than a half year... after flashing a new rom and going from Gen1 to Gen2 my blade started to flicker and was tinted blue - in the beginning only sometimes when it was cold outside, now constantly with blue tint. A change back to Gen1, stock rom ... I´ve sent my blade to someone who cleaned all connections, replaced the "motherboard", dried the blade over aqn oven but nothing leaded to any positive solution. Got the advise that changing the display (oled) from an used or bricked one would be the only way to get rid of these tint. Got mine OLED blade in December 2010.
Guest spiralbrain Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 This problem is linked to OLED's, ive experienced this on my OLED Blade and also my samsung toco ultra which is an also an OLED. It is linked moisture, the way I resolved mine was using silica gell. I placed my blade in an airtight bag with a few packs of silica gell for a day and the blue tint was gone. My only guess is that the moisture affects the bias voltage of OLED's as these displays require a negative voltage to operate, when this bias gets affected the tint changes. Hope this helps.
Guest Maxsas360 Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Or the screen is fractured. When warm it expands and has contact, when cold it does not. Thank god mine doesn't do that.
Guest rwalton159 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 This is a pain at the moment with it being so cold
Guest Maxsas360 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 This is a pain at the moment with it being so cold No problems whatsoever with -22 this morning. You sir have a faulty display.
Guest rwalton159 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 No problems whatsoever with -22 this morning. You sir have a faulty display. Below a certain temperature yes. However, its not under warranty and I'm not paying out to get it repaired. Its fine during the day in the office and at home in the evening. When it fails completely I'll upgrade to the next best thing.
