@ shakerist this rom keeps the battery at 100% for ages so its not a surprise it dropped suddenly.

re the overclocking issue, thanks ill reduce the speed. on a side note would this effect the screen freezing when using swype? thats the only time i experience screen freezes its irritating but i think its just a blip in the rom.

I'd just like to say top job to scoopading and rotmann for even attempting the rigourous testing going into this. I hope your efforts are fruitful, and it's good you're doing stuff about these problems, and not just whining like most the rest of us. Not that other reports from use aren't welcome of course :(

Hi there,

today went to switch from JJ9 to CM7/RC2. before the move, I used titanium pro to back my apps/data and then backed up the JJ9 ROM using nandroid.

Got CM7/RC2 & gapps installed and then went about getting my apps back as follows:

1) first re-enable my network provider setting to get data access

2) then re-installed titanium pro from the market

3) then set about restoring my apps, it has an option to restore "Restore all missing apps + system data", but I was unsure about the system data part as I'm moving from 2.2 to 2.3. Ended up restoring each of my user apps individually.

Anyhow, all the above made the phone unstable and constantly rebooting, so have redone my efforts to having CM7/RC2 & gapps installed. So whats the best steps to get my old settings (bluetooth/wifi) and user apps/data onto the new ROM?

Any help would be much appreciated...

W.

Possible Bluetooth Issue:

After pairing with my car radio (for voice calls, phonebook and BT audio), then switching off the radio and/or leaving the car, on return, the phone doesn't automatically connect again - I have to connect manually.

Previous ROMS (Froyo) would give me a message on first time re-connect, asking to grant permission for the car radio to always allow phonebook access, etc, and after that would automatically reconnect when in range. This does not happen with this ROM.

You need to use ClockworkMod 3.0.0.6

I installed with no issues. It's running fine.

edit: Strange behaviour on this nightlighy... boots up - no touchscreen (says giffgaff)... then reboots itself.. comes back no touchscreen still but Telefonica o2... reboots every 5s or so after a boot... clear cache/data/dalvik only allows touchscreen to work for maybe 5s and then nada - reboot cycle.. weird.

Thats the puppy.. thx hadnt noticed the new version.

Who know what change in 17?

Feeling a bit like the Saw Doctors (wishing I was on the N17) I just flashed it

made on call and the screen woke immediately! I've had lots of problems w that previously so this is promising but just 1 call so far - much more testing needed

one screen freeze (immediately on 1st boot)

Will reboot and continue to meddle...

(EDIT - the screen freeze resolved with the power button as Alex says below -just rebooted as I often find ROMs behave a little differently on 2nd boot than after the first - installation - boot)

In my observation screen-freezes (you can bring it back with pressing the power button twice, though, so no "hard"

freeze requiring a reboot) and laggyness increased with every nightly or the RC, earlier nightlies ran a lot smoother

for me.

@Victor - we just try to do our best like the rest of us here. Could you mark the proximity issue as solved? Ticking "Always use proximity" and restarting works

Thats the puppy.. thx hadnt noticed the new version.

You should have read the first post or use the search on your error on this topic, this has already been asked. Funny how you lost a lot of time flashing and posting but aren't able to read the instructions or search. The errors you get are surely because of that too

Who know what change in 17?

Apps2SD should work now and headset calling too.

have you added this to the issues tracker?

For wifi, saves from TB are unuseable, it deactivated something so that wifi didn't detect any networks anymore, then the phone start to reboot constantly..i guess it's, as me, you made those backups under 2.2 rom

i decided to reparameter manually, it's not like a PC, few parameters and it's ok..!

By the way, do someone can confirm me that datas i pulled with adb can be repushed with adb simply with "adb push /mymac/com.anyeditor.anyapp /data/data/com.anyeditor.anyapp or is it more sophisticated...?

thx in advance

Sorry to hear that - market's fine here. Sounds like it's not N17 specific though. Maybe hard reset full wipe etc?

I've tried to do this every week or so with the nightlies just to make sure I'm not carrying old errors forward, if you know what I mean

Just noticed - Modaco time = GMT again

for those of you trying to work out how this rom is doing with respect to battery usage; i would recommend a free app from the market called

"Battery Monitor Widget (Pro)"

it gives what look to me like some pretty accurate graphs of usage. they also record stats which can be uploaded to a pc to do real crunching on the data.

hope this is of some help

Currently using Nightly 15 with Slidescreen Pro as my homescreen. Is this a known battery eater?
