Guest shadowninty Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 You guys remember the apps not working from sd card bug? I have a weird continuation of that now! I thought i'd try out Swedish Spring and all the apps that crashed when run on the sd card appear to be corrupted backups in titanium! They have been re-backed up since the fix? apps with libs
Guest targetbsp Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) apps with libs Well yeah. Not sure knowing the reason for an old bug helps me though. :D To clarify, Angry Birds works now on SD Card on CM7. Angry birds works on Swedish Spring. Angry birds backed up from SD card under CM 7 and restored into Swedish Spring acts the same as Angry Birds used to when it was broken in CM7. This also affects all other games that used to be broken in CM7 when on the SD Card. If they are moved to internal phone space and backed up then they can be restored fine. Guest Paden Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) Hey all Made my first foray into CM7 land with N25 & after a couple of reboots things are running pretty good. I've noticed the bluetooth re-connection issues with my car that others have mentioned but after a disable/enable cycle it seems to connect again. One thing that I haven't been able to change is that the Dialer dock shortcut always opens to the Contacts page & not the Phone. This wasn't the case with FLB-r10 but I've been unable to find a setting that will change this behaviour. Is this normal for others using CM7 & can it be changed? Cheers, Paul Edited March 20, 2011 by Paden
Guest Rotmann Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) On N19 with BatteryandBluetoothFixKernel I experience a better battery life than on N23. (Did'nt try N25 yet.) With N19 i lost 4% in 11 hours, with N23 i lost 17% in about the same time. Anybody else who noticed this? Did full whipe after every update/install and don't have any weird apps running. Something kept your phone awake, there have been no battery issues since N19. It's been in the works for months now. I eventually gave up on the promises and moved to ADW EX. +1 N25 GPS still causing shutdowns/reboots for me. TFT, originally on B10. No overclocking. No Gapps, never logged onto googled. Full wipe. No apps running in background (except ofcourse usual Android AOSP background stuff like email, sms etc..). Below occurs regardless of overclocking, or not, and regardless of launcher type used (have tried it on ADW, Launcher Pro and Go Launcher EX). Reproducible every time: 1. Go into settings--Location & security, enable GPS satellites. 2. Go into GPS Test and wait till you get one or two satellite locks. 3. Exit GPS Test, note GPS icon on status bar takes around 5-15secs to completely stop blinking. 4. Go into setttings--Location & security, disable GPS sateliltes. 5. Wait around 30mts and try and wake the phone. 6. If you don't wait long enough either the phone appears to be working fine, or reboots. It all seems time dependent. 7. Phone always found in shutdow state, have to press Power button to start up again. Above is reproducible everytime without fail. :D Stop disabling GPS, I always leave it on, no problems, no power consumption. If you have programs who use your GPS to track you (like radio), they will stop accessing GPS after a little time. If they still track you, I would unintstall, I mean WTF does a radio app need to always know my position? I have no problem in playing Labyrinth or NFS Shift. +1. The orientation sensor/compass problem got solved in N22 for me, Tom_G added the sensors libs again. Edited March 20, 2011 by Rotmann

Guest LVL91 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) Yay, CM N26 is out :D I wonder what that smartass governor will bring to us... Edited March 20, 2011 by LVL91
Guest Rotmann Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Hehe, good build bot, seems like it's very reliable now. The changes should bring some goodies, definitely worth a flash.
Guest Fou-lu Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 26 already? jeez just flashed n25 5-7hrs ago lol oh well, no big issues so far, on initial boot was buggy but after reboot all's good.. :D
Guest jurrasstoil Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 I'm on N25+bl1nk v6 kernel (has the smartass governor already) and it feels a bit slower and laggier than N19+v5 - Menus and App Drawer specifically. What are the ZERO and speedy things the changelog for N26 is talking about?

What are the ZERO and speedy things the changelog for N26 is talking about? they are build targets unrelated to Blade. It seems that the only important thing is the new wifi driver in the kernel - I will not upgrade from 25 only for this purpose. The 25 really fixed proximity sensor (I looked in the c++ code :D )
Guest Daenja Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Hey are these necessary in n25? Spare Parts - End Button Behavior = Go to Sleep??? CyanogenMOD settings - performance settings - compcache = ??
Guest gusthy Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Hey are these necessary in n25? Spare Parts - End Button Behavior = Go to Sleep??? CyanogenMOD settings - performance settings - compcache = ?? The End button setting is not necessary, it was long ago when it was needed. The compcache depends on your taste, personally I don't see any reason to set compcache on a phone with 512MB RAM.
Guest Roo13 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Hi, I plan to upgrade from n21 to n26 (unless i delay it and n27 comes out..!), is bl1nk's alternative kernel still relevant to use..? Thanks in advance
Guest supermies123 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 I'm sorry to ask this as there must be tons of similar questions here. What exactly does Wiping Data and Wiping Cache do? And do I need to Wipe them if I update from earlier nightly to the newest? (I'm on N25 now) So if I don't Wipe data, all my applications and settings will still be there after flashing new nightly? What possible problems might it cause to NOT wipe before updating rom? I would like to update to the newest nighlies without having to install all apps I use again and again...
Guest Daenja Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 I'm having problems with my phone not going to sleep (N25) I'm able to wake the screen by tapping home/menu/back -buttons a lot. Is this normal?

Guest Daenja Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) Clean install using clockwork 3.0.1.4 wakes almost everytime I push any button... Done factory reset/ wipe cache / wipe dalvik cache Edited March 20, 2011 by Daenja

Guest Daenja Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Yes just did factory/data reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache ---> reinstall rom ---> again wipes just to make it sure and problem persists. No additional apps installed, I'm trying N26 next and see if I still have this problem.

Guest LordKickapoo Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) No one, anyone? Basically it resets your phone to factory settings. Wiping helps people who are trying to help you with the problems of this rom. Wiping can be done from clockwork or rom manager. Yes everything should be there if you dont use wipe. I dont usually wipe if i update to latest nightly but if if some problems exists then i usually wipe. The possibilities of non wiping are limitlles :D So wiping may help with the problems or not, but the main thing is that if you have done wiping data and cleaning caches the problems is somewhere else Edited March 20, 2011 by LordKickapoo

Guest Frankish Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) There is no need to wipe after installing a rom. However it makes no difference unless it comes with app preinstalled to the data partition. If the rom comes with .apk's pre installed to the data partition you shouldn't ever wipe after install. Although i've not seen any like this for the Blade all seem to be on system. It was quite common on the Desire, so wiping afterwards would remove all provided .apk's.
