The New WIFI Drivers are surely reason enough for Update to N26. Wifi reliably reconnecs. This

development is fantastic.

The only time you should NOT wipe after installing a rom is if the rom comes with .apk's pre installed to the data partition. Although i've not seen any like this for the Blade all seem to be on system.

It was quite common on the Desire, so wiping afterwards would remove all provided .apk's.

The first post says to wipe before installing the ROM, not after. Is that incorrect then?

Are you certain about this?

I have never wiped AFTER installing a rom and I think this is the first time I've seen it suggested for the Blade.

Please clarify as I'm getting confused now!

Ouch i meant there is no need to wipe after installing a rom. However it makes no difference unless it comes with app preinstalled to the data partition.

Sorry guys :D

Something kept your phone awake, there have been no battery issues since N19.

+1

Stop disabling GPS, I always leave it on, no problems, no power consumption. If you have programs who use your GPS to track you (like radio), they will stop accessing GPS after a little time. If they still track you, I would unintstall, I mean WTF does a radio app need to always know my position?

+1. The orientation sensor/compass problem got solved in N22 for me, Tom_G added the sensors libs again.

i got a fully wiped n23 and i have problems with the sensor so doesn't seem to be fixed for me =/

Hey all

One thing that I haven't been able to change is that the Dialer dock shortcut always opens to the Contacts page & not the Phone.

This wasn't the case with FLB-r10 but I've been unable to find a setting that will change this behaviour.

Is this normal for others using CM7 & can it be changed?

Cheers, Paul

I should clarify that I'm using Zeam launcher & have separate Dialer & Contacts short-cuts but both lead to the Contacts page, I'd like for the Dialer short-cut to lead to the Phone.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers, Paul

My phone app goes to dialer by default and my contacts to my contacts. I assumed the apps remember the last open tab though so if you have dialer open under contacts it will keep going back to that...or am i dreaming.

I had the same problem as Paden for ages where both icons went to contacts. And then it just fixed itself one day and has been fine ever since. I don't know how. :D

Thanks Frankish, I think my problem was that I hadn't actually used the Phone page of the Dialer & that's why it never returned to it :D

Actually you are probably a good person to ask, is the carrier name easy to edit?

Cheers, Paul

Now I don't know about app performance, but I tried N23 and N26 and I found UI responsiveness to be too slow, nowhere close to JJ or FLB. I'm not talking about the launcher, I know it can be tweaked, but rather I'm concerned about general UI responsiveness like menus, lists, etc.

For me, CM7's slow UI responsiveness almost kills the whole experience :( I wonder if it'd be fixed in release or is it something normal?

PS: and yep i wiped :D

I'm having problems with my phone not going to sleep (N25) I'm able to wake the screen by tapping home/menu/back -buttons a lot. Is this normal?

If option "use only 2g network" is ticked, blade don't sleep proberly. Temporarily "fix" is untick this option and use 3g network.

I have this problem also in other roms.

Same here, I want to use CM7, but JJ/FLB are generally smoother - e.g. scrolling in Twitter, or similar. This is the only thing putting me off CM7 (for what its worth, the original CM6 beta that TomG put out was fine in this regard, similar to JJ/FLB - though I guess that was Froyo-based, not Gingerbread).

I'm currently on N25 & found that I needed two or three straight reboots & then things ran a lot smoother, certainly as good as FLB.

As said earlier I'm using Zeam launcher.

So people on N26, is the WiFi re-connecting fine after sleep?

If so will be updating :D

Yay, CM N26 is out :D

I wonder what that smartass governor will bring to us...

Hi,

I'm wondering too the use of different governors, on my blade i let it ON DEMAND and am using OverclockWidget to reduce while screen off is it useful or is it double use with CM settings..?

Thanks in advance for clarification.

So people on N26, is the WiFi re-connecting fine after sleep?

If so will be updating :(

Since n21, even RC2, i always had automatic reconnections...what are the steps to reproduce your abnomal behaviour..?

About sensors, they seem alright in n26, i've tested a bubble level which reacts as expected...

new wifi works fine in N26 but dont switch off when screen goes to lock.

drains battery then.

also adwlauncher ignores home button. with other launchers it works so think its a bug in adw

In advanced options while on screen of wifi settings you can set if wifi should disconnect while screen off

Yeah, well, I might gotten a little over-enthusiastic.The reason I thought the wifi reconnection went so fine was merely because with N26 my phone never went to sleep. So I reverted back to N25 and sleep was fine again.

Mine just will not re-connect after deep sleep, I have WiFi Sleep Policy to "When Screen Turns Off" I am using WPA2 encryption on the router.

Are you saying you need to set WiFi Sleep Policy to "Never" ? ?

If so that kinda defeats the object.

I tried this rom a few weeks ago and found it too buggy to use as my day to day rom, although I could see that it would be something I would definitely be using when it matured . Well I installed nightly 25 yesterday and was impressed by how much it had improved . I don't quite understand why adw launcher is so slow and laggy but glngerbread launcher from the market makes a world of difference . I just have one question . Although the camera has lots of new features , the zoom on both video and stills is very jerky . I can't find much in this thread about the camera , just some people saying that it's much better on 25 . Is it just me , or is this a common problem ?

Pretty sure it involves hex editing. What's you actual issue with it?

It currently displays "Telefonica O2 UK Limited¦", where other ROMs simply display O2-UK.

Not a huge issue but I know flibblesan had it at one stage & tweaked something to change it.
