Guest StevenHarperUK Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 So with admin mode will this allow us to basically pull all the stuff needed for TPT from a device? If so we have a way of unbricking devices with self made TPT's? I am not adding this ROM to the known ROM's yet because of its different base offset of 0x02600000 We don't want people without Swedish Comviq 2.2 Blade trying this ROM.

This is a problem we should think about really... they seem to of pulled the same trick with the V9 and Racer (that I know of)... Ive just spent 40 minutes trying to explain to people why they cant just slap the new v9 2.2 rom on the older device without some changes.... I'm hoping greater minds (or at least less medicated than mine) can come up with a standard :D
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Yes, seems like that. Almost all the files are the same size. Wifi files are different (improved?) though. kk: Any chance of uploading the original kernel config from the Swedish rom please? I posted a link to the original dump. It's all in there...

We know repaircenters can upgrade phones so we need to get our hands on one of those upgrades. Tweaking the current TPT files to use 0x02600000 adress just won't be enough as there are more changes (RIL, camera etc...)

If so, then maybe we can dump the tpt files from that. Getting the official upgrade would be better & easier (if somebody leaks it), but it might not be necessary. Edited March 17, 2011 by wbaw
Guest vareBlade Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 (edited) Greek 2.2 will be soon released too (at the end of March, the rumors say), so more chances to get our hands to one of those Edited March 17, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest hecatae Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 will I need a windows install to do this?
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Has anyone tried the function to read the state of the phone on that program? I've opened it in admin mode and my phone is sitting next to me and the temptation is so great... Also, what does NV or CEFS stand for?

Guest kallt_kaffe Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Ok that's interesting 'cause this has not happened before and I have used JJ, MCR, FLB, some Sebs roms, Finnish Fillyjonk, CM7 and Honeycomb rom. I was just curious to see if this is better than JJ but I'm happy with CM7. :D Next version will have the same hack to Phone.apk that JJ has so it will bypass the SIM lock check.
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 The camera lib is a bit more of a puzzle tho... unless the 'new devices' has a different camera from the 'old devices'? Actually the real kernel for this rom have support for yet another camera chip so it's possible that the liboemcamera.so included expects this support in the kernel and does something stupid. I'm compiling a new kernel right now that is more similar to the original kernel meant to be used with this ROM. Perhaps the original camera lib will work with the new kernel. I'll report back when I've tried it. It'll take a while as I'm compiling on an Intel Atom N270 (in a virtual linux machine). :D
Guest Cow_007 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 if all change to new plattform will we be in the same boat again with no working ril libs for cyanogen or will the saunalahti one work?

My guess is that they've made changes to the kernel sources that we currently doesn't have the source for so for now we're stuck with the old liboemcamera.so. Seems to work fine though.
Guest oh!dougal Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 ... My guess is that they've made changes to the kernel sources that we currently doesn't have the source for ... You won't get if you don't ask!
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 You won't get if you don't ask! It was asked for (not by me though) yesterday but ZTE has not yet responded.
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 ... minds (or at least less medicated than mine) can come up with a standard :D I don't know much about how the offset works / is fixed - Is it just the size of the mbr?
Guest Pelemane Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Next version will have the same hack to Phone.apk that JJ has so it will bypass the SIM lock check. Now that's what I wanted to hear. :( Thanks KK :D
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Now that's what I wanted to hear. :( Thanks KK :D There is a link to a swedish Android forum in the first post where I've posted the download links to RLS2.
Guest DonJamal Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 hi so to see it clearly...if i install this rom i can never use clockwork and custom roms like cm7? or if i use tpt to 2.1 than works again?
