This is the part that's not working. I have the stock recovery installed and stock ROM ready to install. When run the command to add Update.pkg, it all hangs. Backlit, empty screen for an hour, last time I tried. It never booted anything. I haven't seen threads troubleshooting this issue, so I decided to post.

It seems like it can't figure out what to do when I use the #2 option under Stock recovery. Nothing appears, nothing runs. Rebooting w/o recovery returns me to the no-baseband 1.9.0.

I have the same exact issue. Can not get mine back to stock 1.6 which is what it shipped with. hva eteh same result above . No known fix that i am aware of. :-(

Why would you want to get back to stock 1.6 unless it's somehow for your warranty. Go from stock 2.1 ( if your using a rebel sim card) or from 2.2 and then strait to 1.9.0 if that's the one you want to use

PROGRESS! Seems like I had a faulty recovery.stock.img, downloaded from one of the threads. I started over and found another with more data and a response when running the #2 stock recovery command.

That's exactly what i was gonna say. Always get your recovery.img from a good source like streakdroid.com

Ever since upgrading from 1.8.1 to 1.9.0 I now get phantom "new email" notifications. I use the default email client to connect to Exchange 2010 SP1 server. I can reproduce the issue on demand by going to the email client and clicking "Refresh". Once its done checking the server I get a new email notification every time however there isn't actually a new email.

What worked for me: I have switched off notifications in Settings>Accounts>... then after a few days (and reboots) I turned notifications on again. Phantom notifications are gone.

Ever since I upgraded to 1.9 I've been having gapps (Google Application Framework) force-closing on me every so often. The only way to get it back up is to reboot. After that the phone is good for a day or so, and then gapps starts fc'ing again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

It's not too major a problem, just an annoyance.

And I've reinstalled 1.9 more than once, and the problem persists whether or not one does a factory reset before flashing 1.9. my install.txt contains the following:

adwlauncher

us160

noswype

bios

161font

As you can see, I'm not using any of the special kernels/mods that can be configured with 1.9 (although I am using the latest swype beta) - my thinking was that I would have the least amount of problems using the standard 1.9 kernel. Is this my problem? Since no one else has reported this, should I be using one of the other kernels (as per the install.txt options)?

EDIT: Also, what is the latest baseband that will work with 1.9? I have 131800-US on my phone, and I think this is also the amss.mbn linked on the front page, but I have seen threads where people have got updated basebands with their 2.2.2 updates. Will one of these (134700-US, for instance) work with 1.9?

I was hoping to try the official 2.2 from dell and see how.stable it is compared to this one. my streak shipped with 1.6 so I assumed I have to get back to it before going to 2.2. That not the case? If not thats good news. Can I just "downgrade" from steves 1.9.0 to.dell/att 2.2?

just remember if you go down to the offical AT&T you will lose the abilty to tether your phone .

Yep. Just change your recovery to the stock one ( in fastboot) then install stock 2.2 (witch ever one you want just make sure you have the right recovery.img for it). Make sure you install the rom you want just change it to update.pkg and put it in your sd card. Rogers....att&t...o2 all are at stock 2.2 so no more 1.6. Use the link a couple of post higher and look for official roms. Just download the one you want with the corresponding recovery.img

Thanks guys. I will give it a shot. No worries on the tethering. Don't use that anyway. ;-)

Just gotta say....

I got my Streak in Jan'11 had no idea what I was doing, my last phone was a $17 go-phone from Wal-mart. I rooted/overclocked/1.6.1 rom'd it because this site/members rock! I just had some endless looping issues last week(swear it was Angry Birds Rio, it was the only new app I had), did a stock reset and loaded 1.9.0.

Now my battery life is insane, I think it is finally the Dell "suggested" battery life, I go days without needing to charge it with moderate use. I'm running 1135 OC, no perfmod and get 2400-2500 Quadrant, which is up about 100-200 from the 1.6.

I love this site/I love the Streak, can't wait to see what you guys cook up next. I'm anxious to get some hardware hacking going on.

Thanks DJ Steve/MoDaCo! :)

Has anyone had an issue where mobile data / 3G / wifi all stop working, and won't reconnect, even after toggling airplane mode, and after a reboot? I've factory reset a few times, which fixes it, but I've had to do it 4 times already since 1.9.0 came out.

I'm not sure if anyone have already posted this issue. The music app that installed with 1.9.0 is not working. Everything works but there is no sound when the music is played. Other music apps work fine. And I noticed that the version of the preinstalled music app is changed from the last build of streakdroid (which I prefer the former one).

Don't quote me on it because i haven't tried it for that app. But if it was the way you wanted in a past version then extract both version zips. Swap the app from the old version to the new one and then rezip the newer version and reinstall the os using that zip. I have done it for other apps but never for that particular one.

Hey Steve!

First of all: Thnx A LOT for Streakdroid 1.9 - it's running like a charm! Bug-free (within my 2 weeks of testing), high performance and just really nice framework-work! :)

I am a *little* (!!!) bit experienced with other custom ROMs from the milestone, so I looked for all important stuff (to me) on my own as far as possible (dalvik cache tweaking, dpi, framework etc). But there are some open points which I could not solve at all up to now. I would like to ask following questions and hope that you find the time (and muse) to answer those.

- Overclocking: On my Streak, everything > 1190 MHz results in quasi-instantaneous freeze. Is there any possibility to tweak CPU *voltage*? If you could raise that, frequencies up to 1500 MHz would be feasible without any problems (but at the risk of frying the CPU - so for experienced (or crazy) users only). I looked for such variables during runtime (/proc/ and /sys/class/ and others) but were not able to find any suitable variables. Just fyi: On Moto Milestone overclocking to ~ 200% (1,1 GHz) is feasible when adapting CPU voltage (to appr. 105% .. 110% of original voltage).

- Is there any chance to change that standard-landscape orientation to portrait? I think you were fighting this issue in your MIUI-adaption, too. Is this a framework- or kernel-related issue? (Especially because shortly after boot the Streak seems to *switch* from portrait to landscape on the lock screen). Any idea / hint?

- I really dislike that behaviour of 345 ROM that those three LED's at the bottom switch off after appr. 5 secs. In 318 the LED's were lit up as long as the display was on. Any hint/idea where that behaviour is coming from? If it is kernel-related, what module could it be? (Again I searched /proc/ and /sys/ for appropriate entries without any success) Workaround right now: Echo the value of screen brightness to /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness on screen on (e.g. via Tasker/Locale) - REALLY not elegant btw.

THNX again and BR!

How exactly did you do this with leds? I would like them to stay let as before. Thanks

Wow peace I did not see your post. Same observation with overclocking : instant freeze or almost.

I think that some launchers like ‘go launcher‘ are usable in portrait only.

I don't like LED behaviour too :-(

I've tried to do a terminal line echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness to get the leds to stay on but it comes back as permission denied. Any pointers?

Another great ROM, but I did have a couple of issues.

I went straight from 1.5.1 to 1.9.0, at first without a factory reset. Everything went smoothly until an hour or two later, when the first reboot happened. I thought that was no big deal, but then more came over the next few days, about 2-6 per day, some in clusters. I also had the occasional spells of lag/unresponsiveness, like some others have mentioned, particularly right after turning the screen on or trying to turn it off.

Finally, I decided to do a factory reset. It worked like a charm. No more reboots, and everything was quick and smooth.

But there was a down side. While going through the long list of apps I had to reinstall (I have GOT to remember to use Titanium), I noticed a couple of apps were missing from the Market. Including the Slingplayer app that cost me $30. Checking the Market on the phone it didn't show up at all. Checking via PC, it said my device wasn't compatible. Taking a look at the comments on the app's Market page shows several people complaining about it not working on the Nexus S, so I'm guessing something to do with the Market in 1.9.0 was borrowed from that phone?

Anyway, so I flashed 1.5.1 again, then did a factory reset, installed the Slingplayer app (Market found it just fine), then flashed 1.9.0 again. Everything appears to be fine. The Slingplayer app once again can't be found in the Market, but it is already installed, so that's no big deal at this point. I've spent the last three hours reinstalling everything, and haven't had any reboots. *crosses fingers*

I did have one weird issue I thought was a reboot (I actually saw the StreakDroid boot animation), but it came back too fast to be an actual reboot, and uptime in system info afterward was shown as two and a half hours, so I have no idea what that was. I will be keeping an eye on it.

*Edit: I am also having an issue with installing Angry Birds: Rio via the Amazon Appstore. Normal install fails without giving a reason, and when I try to install with the SD card unmounted, it tells me it needs the SD card to be mounted.

Steve and others, thanks for all the hard work!

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Unfortunately, the first time I went to the page with the instructions on my Streak, I turned off the screen and set it down for a few minutes, and it wouldn't turn back on. Had to pull the battery. I'll give it a couple of days to be sure, but I've got a feeling I'm going to have to go down to an earlier version unless the (Nexus S?) Market issue gets figured out and I can factory reset without losing access to some apps.

Just a friendly tip. I would figure out the problem and stay away from easy to do stuff. At lease that way if something screws up you can figure out the problem.

Your prob might just be your recovery not compatible with your pkg. Sometimes its something simple. If your going from stock to streakdroid you need to change your recovery through fastboot.

Easy do software seems simpler but in the long run it wont be

No connection to mobile data network?

I have had 1.9.0 running for some time. I then tried to get tabmail to work with my POP3 account. All sorts of problem with that mail app. (Did not showed the incoming mails, only loaded 25 mails etc.) I tried to clear data. Then the mail app crashed every time I started it. Then I made a factory reset and flashed the 1.9.0 again (without tabmail).

And now I have no data network connection at all??

I have tried al sorts of things but no connection to mobile data network?

install.txt:

adwlauncher

volboost

bios

noswype

Can any one please give me a hint of what I shall do?

Just reflash your Nandroid backup from before you added tabmail. I know you wouldn't flash a new ROM without first making a full Nandroid Backup!
