I am thinking of getting a new Orange San Fransisco and want to unlock it and debrand it (I assune this is what installing a new rom means?) However I have been reading the dire warnings about attempting this on phones that are Gen 2 and am confused.I hope someone can answer the following questions I assume that a brand new phone will be Gen 2? purely because it's new. Is this correct? If so can these Gen 2 phones be unlocked and have new roms installed at all? If they can is there a step by step guide to tell me what I can install and how to do it? Don't assume a new phone will be Gen 2. Mine is only a week old and I found it was Gen 1.
