Guest ValiantSaint Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Nandroid and give Nightly 84 or 78 a try. Most people seem to find it's working. No more dialer drain and it's really quite smooth. Check this out as well: http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade_CyanogenMod Nandroid? (Sorry, I'm a bit dense LOL) Cheers : ) EDIT: I haven't really got anything on my phone ATM (Just the SS ROM and some wallpapers.....) Edited May 24, 2011 by ValiantSaint

Also can be done via ROM Manager, just hit 'Backup ROM' and name it and it's ready to go.
Guest saturnreturn Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 I'm sure I'm just being stupid, but can someone just set me straight: In the 2.2 series ROMs people complained that the button LEDs didn't light up. This was because it was impossible to get them to light up when the phone was in sleep mode. Now, in CM7, I frequently see the LEDs lit up - presumably this means the phone is not sleeping. Either something is keeping my phone awake that I don't know about, CM7 is keeping it awake deliberately in order to show notifications, or the devs found a way to make the lights work when the phone is in sleep mode. Which of the 3 is happening?

Why would I need to backup the old ROM? As I said, the only things I have on my new Blade is the SS ROM, clockwork and some wallpapers. I just need to get from Gen 1 to CM7 N84. God, I make things hard, don't I?

If it's the latter then just put the N84 file on the SD Card, Flash and then flash this: before booting up. Now reboot and let CM7 load up. Reboot again and go into recovery. Install the Gapps package. Setup your phone and enjoy!

The assumption that it was impossible, during the reign of Froyo roms, was erroneous. :P Also, this feaure was the number one reason I initially kept coming back to CM7 from the froyos - even in CM7's buggy early days. Guest TigTex Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I'm using nightly 84 here. Flawless. No wifi problems to report and I haven't noticed a single bug! Excelent ROM. (haven't tested proximity sensor yet)
Guest Maz2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I dont get this. I tried both 83 and 84 and they both drain my full battery in about 6 hours, even in standby. If I look at battery usage it says dialler 70+%, even though I didnt make or receive any calls. I've never had any trouble like that before. Going back to the build I was using before.

Guest Monkeyface66 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 drain my full battery in about 6 hours Did you apply the libaudio.so patch? You have to install the patch or do it manually. Download it here: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/335...0/#entry1706736 via CWM CM7 libaudio or push via adb to /system/lib
Guest lordofangels Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 N85 is out Includes No Blade specific fixes. N85
Guest supermies123 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Sorry to ask this, but what bugs does N84 + libaudio still have?
Guest vviskari Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Hi, N84 and the battery drain after a phone call seems fixed for me. Joy! So the final bug I have is the proximity sensor. I'm really not sure if it has ever been working on my phone and can't go back to original ROM. Who has the proximity sensor working on a Blade? Could you check the hardware info about the sensor (with Elixir or similar). Mine reads: Name: Taos Proximity Sensor Vendor: Taos Inc. Version: 1 Resolution: 5cm Maximum range: 5cm Minimum delay: when data changes Power: 0.5mA Could it be, that there are sensors from different vendors being used in some phones? When this sensor works, this ROM will be perfect! Thanks for everyone involved!
Guest Vasily Mulukov Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 regarding modified libaudio.so - the one posted here breaks SIP applications (will route sound to speakerphone), if I am not mistaken. How about ROM version update-cm-7.1.0-RC0-Blade-Kang-signed (was posted earlier in this thread) Battery life is very good, no hissing sound, no drain after voice calls, Skype and CSipSimple works 100% properly. May be it's worth to take libaudio.so from this ROM? I use it for about 2 weeks, works very well (I use Go Dialer instead of stock dialer) The only bugs this firmware have is proximity in a call works only once when auto brightness is on, and stuck LED when using Regpon WiFi Keep Alive
Guest Maringer Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I'm still suffering from some battery drain due to the dialler sensor usage problem. I'm using DialerOne at present but I don't believe which dialler is used makes a difference to the sensor problem? As a light user, my phone can still manage 2 days on a full charge so this isn't too much of a problem. Would be nice to see this issue resolved, however!
Guest Maz2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Did you apply the libaudio.so patch? You have to install the patch or do it manually. No, I didnt do that so that might explain why I got the huge battery drain. However I see that other people say that this libaudio thing breaks SIP functionality, which I use. For the time being I will stick with 7.0.3 which does everything I need and doesnt have any USB charging issue as long as I put the clock on before charging. Thanks for the suggestion though. Hopefully someone will fix this issue in a future build.
Guest Maz2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 N85 is out Includes No Blade specific fixes. Do you still have to do this libaudio thing for it to work properly?
Guest Orbbman Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Do you still have to do this libaudio thing for it to work properly? You don't have to but I'd recommend it as it is more fun :P
Guest Macca56 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I have tried several version of this rom and always have the same problem=emails are very slow to come through.I may get 1 or 2 in a day but when i log on to my computer there are loads waiting for me.My details are correct as i do get some but lots more do not get through,Anyone any ideas why this would happen. I have alway done a complete wipe before installing a nightly update.
Guest OckoTomBrok Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Just found out, that CM7 has "Permission Management", no idea of this is "old news", but I love this feature! (http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/24/new-cya...ons-with-an-ir/) Will immediately revoke "read contacts" from facbook app, let's see how it manages ;-) Great work at CM7! Keep going! Best, Jan Edited May 25, 2011 by OckoTomBrok

Guest Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Yeah. Tasker can be set to disable auto-brightness whilst you are on the phone and enable it when you hang up. As you mentioned it in another post, I tried AutomateIt yesterday and it seems able to perform this trick as well. I'll stick to it for the moment as I'm still not convinced the use I could make of Tasker is worth its price... Thanks for the tip anyway :P
Guest DonJamal Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 You don't have to but I'd recommend it as it is more fun :P n85 hasnt got the libaudio patch?

This seems a bit of contradiction for me. My phone usually stands a working day, from morning till late afternoon, but I do not feel I have any drainage :P Drain means for me that battery level changes "a lot" even while the phone is in standby state. Is it the case for you? How much can it change if it still lasts two days?
