Guest targetbsp Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 (edited) and its for the skate, not the blade, so its not a simple recompile - although as it turns out the skate is still arm6 not arm7, it may essentially be the same kernel, depends on wifi/sensor chipsets etc. looks like ZTE have pulled a motorola devy on us and just overclocked a blade with a bigger screen and gingerbread and called it a skate.... Is that confirmed? Last I heard they'd changed the CPU to a 1ghz one and we didn't know whether it was 6 or 7? £230 for a Arm6 phone is insane money! If the Skate is just a a supersized Blade, cool! We can just upgrade and carry on as normal. If not, another section will open up in this forum. There is a Skate section. :) I've just been checking it to see if there's any confirmation of it being Armv6 or 7 yet but I can't see any. Edited July 19, 2011 by targetbsp

Guest tsddave Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I had no issues with N131 but I flashed N135 and had 2 reboots.1 last night and one during the day today. One was during standby and the other while using an app. I have used the app many times without this issue and naturally have the phone on standby most of the time without issue also , so its hard to know what is causing this.
Guest tsddave Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 All of this is purely conjecture until the release of the Skate, possibly in a fortnight? The Mac community love to discuss what the next potential Apple product will be. Most of the time it's wishful thinking and they obviously get it wrong. If the Skate is just a a supersized Blade, cool! We can just upgrade and carry on as normal. If not, another section will open up in this forum. Life is too short for, if this, or, if that. I don't count my money until the cheque has been cashed and the payment cleared. :) Anil. PS. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade. We're all entitled to discuss what we feel is important. It's just that sometimes it feels like a pointless exercise. IMHO. 100% Agree with Anil here.

Guest bhf Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I've got a problem with ringtones and headsets. You can set up the Blade to play the ringtones (and alarms, notifications) in headset and speaker simultaneously. Settings --> CyanogenMod Settings --> Sounds in section "Always play on Speaker" (Settings below apply only when headphones are used). That worked fine with the old kernel. But with the new kernel, N126 and up, this pref is pretty much ignored by the phone. The ringtone is just coming out of the headset, not the speaker anymore. Can someone confirm this?
Guest Jean85 Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Anyone else with charging reboot problem? ME!! My SF reboots every time I plug it to the wall charger.
Guest j6mm Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 ME!! My SF reboots every time I plug it to the wall charger. It seems to be hardware dependent. Mine reboots almost every time I plug it to the car charger. No problems with neither wall charger nor PC USB. Been like that since the new kernel was introduced in N12X.
Guest ididmytime Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 If someone from ZTE PR releases a statement in the blade section that the source being released for the 2.6.35 kernel will be out by sep 1st, then you can pretty much bet that it will, and working on our blades. Speaking of the Skate, details not only seem sketchy about it, but price tag is over £200 in most places... crazy, think I would rather own two blades!
Guest tsddave Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 (edited) N135 Now I got a reboot when I plugged in usb to pc and enabled file transfer. The phone rebooted but file transfer was still enabled. Just upgraded to N136 and I notice the back button doesnt wake the phone up you have to hit the power button...annoying! Edited July 19, 2011 by tsddave
Guest Geree Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 How frequent are these reboots on the latest nightlies? and what does this wifi battery drain about? any workaround? or which nightly shoud I install? I'm coming from Burstrlam's gingerbread leak..

I'm coming from Burstrlam's gingerbread leak.. None for me, it seems like a small portion of users are affected. The Wi-Fi module is broken or something I believe. Don't use the Wi-Fi sleep policy, use Tasker or Greenpower to shut off Wi-Fi properly when the screen turns off to limit drain. Read the last couple of pages, I'd say try the latest N136 though. Guest Simono Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Someone have reboot, someone don't have. I don't have any reboot from N126.

Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I had a lot of problems with the latest nightly. Reboots every time it was in my pocket. That's the important part. Only whilst locked and in ma pocket. Unlocked fine. Locked and laying down, fine. Weird. Overheating again?
Guest ididmytime Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 The processor of the Blade has been confirmed to be ARM7 and 1GHz by a zte spokesman but the monte carlo is still unknown:/ Yet the ZTE spokesman who visits this site say's flash isn't supported... aka ARMv6, so one of them is obviously wrong. I do feel this is moot however, it's still way too expensive.

I then reverted back to N126. No problems with that Nightly. Besides the weird bug, that ringtones (or alarms, notifications) are not played over speaker when headset is attached. No matter how the blade is setup.
