Guest Anil k Solanki Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 (edited) I would love to see a column on that graph like that for everything maxed out at the same time. Then I can guess how long the battery will last while playing a game, finding prime numbers, transferring data over wifi and 3g at the same time while almost out of range in a very sunny place, which I need to take a video of. while playing music at max volume. The graph assumes the user uses their handset for 10 mins every hour. It also shows (In blue) services being used at full tilt. Your use case requires a nuclear powered device, HTC will surely bring one out soon. The HTC Fusion? My advice is get an external battery pack. Or a CRAY? :D Anil. Guest spaceguy Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 Hi spaceguy, I use English & Italian on my keyboard, I just checked and Swedish is available as a system language, but not as an input language. If you set the system to Swedish doesn't the ANDROID keyboard appear in Swedish? I did a quick check in the Marketplace, and there isn't a download for a Swedish input language. The app Go SMS Pro does have a Swedish input language add-on for the GO SMS keyboard. So it depends what you need the Swedish input language for, everything? Or just some apps? Anil. thanks for answering Anil. So something is wrong here, because i had alot more to choose from when i was using n133, over 20 languages. and i tried to set the system to Swedish, the swedish keyboard doesn't pop up in input languages. it's sad because i basically need the Swedish keyboard all the time when i am browsing and some on. i am not sure why the would remove this option and still have almost the same file size ( 88.77 Mb)

But surely the Swedish input language is available inside N133? That being the case, perhaps you could extract the input language file? And insert it in one of the latest nightlies? I'm sorry but I'm out of my depth here, you need a code Dev to step-up and offer some advice. At the very least finding out at which nightly they dropped Swedish, then at least you could run that. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Anil.

Guest mELIANTE Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) I don't think it's a rom issue. There haven't been enough complaints. :D Checked for partial wakes in spare parts? Yeah, Android System takes the cake. Not a lot of complaints because the battery life doens't seem that much affected, but it still shouldn't happen. Oh well... Edited August 2, 2011 by mELIANTE
Guest Anil k Solanki Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Why should it not happen? It seems in your mind things should be a certain way, but the reality is very different. If your phone is working & you are getting at least 8 hours of moderate to heavy use, where is the problem? I respectfully suggest you simply enjoy the phone. If you want to learn more about the ANDROID OS search for Google IO 2011 on YouTube. There are many many videos. I have watched many of them and learned a lot. For example, when you launch an app that uses a service like GPS, other apps that may use GPS will piggy back in the background and share that GPS data in order to save resources. ANDROID does many many things like this all the time. Anil Edited August 2, 2011 by Anil k Solanki
Guest targetbsp Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Yeah, Android System takes the cake. Not a lot of complaints because the battery life doens't seem that much affected, but it still shouldn't happen. Oh well... The difference in battery drain between the phone being awake and asleep is huge! It depends on your usage as to how noticeable it would be. A heavy user will drain their battery fast anyway with their own use so wouldn't notice the rom doing it as much as a light user would. I airplane my phone overnight and it literally uses <1% battery whilst I sleep. If it was awake most of the night it would be a LOT more than that and I'd notice. In the past 24 hours, my battery has gone down 14% and that includes downloading an 80-odd mb rom update, doing that long initial first boot and the time it took me to delete the 40-odd apps included in CM7 that I consider junk using titanium. There's just no way my phone was awake when it shouldn't have been with drain that low. I'm assuming the lack of complaints from other users (apart from the app sync related ones) means no-one else has noticed anything out of the ordinary. This new kernel has been in there 20 days now with no real battery complaints I've seen other than the wifi/app_syncs. Whereas several of us had spotted the fm drain within 24 hours back when it happened. It's obviously not impossible there's an issue that's affecting only certain uses but it seems more likely to me that it's some app you're using? Have you clicked android system to see the actually time it caused the phone to be awake? Juts looking at the bar can be very misleading. A full bar sometimes means about 5 seconds if there's nothing relative for Spare Parts to compare the time to. It's probably not the 17 hours that your phone was awake. :) Edited August 2, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest Markiv Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Dear All, Which .apk should be replaced in any ROM to get the dark-see-through kindof notification drop down which is seen in gsf ROM. Similarly which apk is associated with dialer kindof unlocking seen in CM7.

It's definitly not right but I havent had time to look into it, and I charge my phone almost all day anyway.. I keep meaning to have a look but havent got round to it yet.

I too have watched a lot of stuff, read a lot of stuff about android and, repectfully, I don't think you can teach me anything. I'd apreciate it if you would't be so patronizing ok? Thanks :) I know for a fact that the phone isn't supposed to be running for 100% of the time, as it is. I am enjoying my phone, I merely described what was happening to mine as it is not normal. If it isn't happening to anyone else then it is limited to only me and I must figure what is wrong with it. Anyway, I posted earlier that my battery didn't seem much affected but that is false, it really drained more. I rebooted my phone, let's see if it starts not sleeping again and if I can identify any pattern. Edited August 2, 2011 by mELIANTE

Guest jrknight45 Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 A couple of quick questions if I may? Does the universal GEN2 -> GEN1 converter still work on the latest builds of CyanongenMod? What does GEN2 offer over GEN1 - it seems slightly risky to do the update and I havn't read anywhere what the advantages are, apart from the greater number of new ROMS? Thanks in advance.

No idea about the unlocking. Thankq so much. Apologies for terming it as an .apk file... it should be in some system file (i did try to browse thru all of those files with any kindof notification name on em.. no luck.. am ignorant..) so it must be there somewhere in some file... i really am waiting to flash the rom and just waiting to add the notification of gsf & unlocking of CM7... plz help..
