Hide yo kidz. Hide your wives cuz ThermalDroid is double postin here

not to be hating or anything, but this sort of stuff is what i dislike about these threads.

you can talk about the topic, and then there's stuff like that, and that just extends the thread, which is already 370 odd pages long; its so unnecessary.

Hey sej, gonna share 157+ and you self compiled recovery? tongue.gif

my n157+ has been superseded by the official n158 now, i was just playing with the kernel.

my 4.0.1.4 recovery build isn't much different to clockworkmod 3.0.2.7 (but hey, its a higher version number!) i just wanted to try compiling recovery from the cm7 sources as paul had done for the skate, rather than relying on koush.

i've attached the recovery as a flashable zip (for rommanager or recovery) but i've not tried it as i've already flashed the .img file using fastboot. md5sum 62d75e0ab925262b2c99c3a1f534bbb6

it should work ok, but if you brick your phone don't come crying to me (i guess you could still fastboot or tpt actually) and do a nandroid backup first perhaps.

note it still shows up as 3.0.2.7 in rommanager, but when you enter recovery it shows as 4.0.1.4 and i've done a nandroid and a flash using it just fine (even from rommanager premium).

What if we like crying to you? Anyway on a serious note, is it worth updating from Nightly 152? It's been fairly stable for me and I'm wondering if there are any specific improvements and if so should I do a full wipe or just the cache?

No. The headphones act as the antenna.

You do suffer from this issue, for me personally, there are three major bugs Blade users are currently experiencing.

OK, if you say so. :) I don't use my phone when it's sleeping, so if Wi-Fi isn't working when I'm not actually using it, fine, call it a bug.

It's not about what rom is better, it's all about what bugs you are willing to accept, and accepting bugs seems to be a habbit of this community.

Let this community know when you've fixed all these "bugs" that we have a habit of accepting. :D

I feel you're confused as to the fact that this is a voluntary community. The kind folks building ROM's and answering questions here are not on a salary. I have a friend staying with me, and he has a HTC Desire running their "professional" ROM. For a start it's still only 2.2 Froyo. Secondly it's locked down!

My problem now is, I can't really buy a phone that won't run Cyanogen. Which in a way is a good thing. Because it narrows down hardware choices.

Anil.

Anyone know if S2E works on cyanogen 2.3.5?

Hi De@n, I use S2E on Cyanogen 2.3.5, and it works great. I'm running N158, but I have used it since N147 with no problems.

Considering this rom is about 99% functional, I would call these bugs minor defects :P

lol not really, there's been fsck all updates that effect the blade in ages, n152 had the faster boot but that's about it. i haven't wiped data in months, since i tpt'd i think, i was reading somewhere that even wiping dalvik is not necessary.

of the 7 who downloaded my update.zip has anyone tried installing it (the recovery 4) as i'd like to know if it works ok.it seems the main difference above the regular cwm3 is ext4 support and backups seem faster as all the verbose output and progress bars are turned off.

@sej,it seems to work ok,not fully tested it,but it backs up and restores with no problems.

I will report back if If I find any fault with it

I was on N95, upgraded to N152 last night in the hope that the GPS issues had been sorted, didn't want to read hundreds of posts to find out so took a chance. I guess the issues with GPS aren't sorted yet, went on a 20 mile bike ride today with my son and my Blade rebooted 4 times so not all of the ride has been recorded. Back to N95 I guess!

Is anyone else having GPS issues?

Yes, but I have a habit of flashing the gps fix every rom update, works great :-)

I can clearly see you don't understand how it's supposed to work, as I assume you have data allowence so it doesn't affect you.

Good news, the bugs I mentioned are fixed, we are just waiting on someone to implement them all. I expect it to come from Wbaw before CM when the source for 2.3 gets released, and will instantly switch until CM catches up. He seem's to be even more critical of the bugs which is a fantastic thing, because we need more people like that. I'm not critizing the CM devs in the slightest, just annoyed that people don't complain enough so ZTE don't fix anything in their stock roms, as they have only fixed one issue from stock 2.1 - 2.3. CM has been a godsend for us, fixing things that ZTE cant be bothered to do and sharing it with the community. We are just waiting on someone to compile these fixes and we should be set.

KK released a GPS fix, CM devs don't like so it's not included, but it does work and stops any problems outright.

Search the forums/thread for a link.

Clearly you have no idea of my experience, or how I see thing's. I don't see how deriding the contributions of this free community helps anyone. If the Wi-Fi during sleep is "essential", then use a Froyo ROM where it's not an issue.

I say count your blessings, HTC Desire users are still waiting for HTC to deliver Gingerbread. ZTE have no obligation to fix anything, we paid bottom dollar for the handset. Perhaps instead of complaining to ZTE we could donate more money to Cyanogen? People get stuff for free, and still complain, amazing.

thanks, i meant did the update.zip install ok (as i didn't use that method to install it myself) which it seems it does which is great.

i've backed up and installed a rom and wiped battery stats with it just fine via rommanager and vol-/power

i'd guess its gen2 only as well, like the regular clockworkmod past about 3.0 (and cm7 itself).

OK thanks. I'll upgrade may be at the weekend and flash the GPS fix

Do we know why the CM devs don't like the fix, especially if it fixes the GPS issues?
