I don't have any problem with tripadvisor and paypal (you have to buy tasker, so I did not install, but it showed up when I searched for it).

Have you tried to install the most recent version of Gapps?

It's N161 with the latest gapps yes, except for the market.

I'm using the previous market, since i don't like the new V3 market.

But all the programs i mentioned showed up on Blue Ginger V5 with the same market on it ... very weird (and annoying)

I know if I say this, I will be hated forever on MoDaCo and especially by you guys, but I have to say it.

The amount of abuse and shite talk I've noticed on MoDaCo is unbelievable! MoDaCo Blade is my first and only regular place on MoDaCo. Never been on here before. I've always been on XDA for all my PDA needs. Although some people don't like XDA, I've had very pleasant experience there and seen not a single flame war. Out here in few months time I've seen 2 flame wars and a lot of abusing!

It's surprising especially when MoDaCo has waaaaay more admins and mods on the forums. Perhaps too liberal out here?

Hi rockstarszzzz, MoDaco is a very large site, so I think it's unfair to say what you have. I respectfully assume you haven't visited every forum and looked at every thread? Overall I have found MoDaCo's members to be intelligent and helpful people. I have only heard of one Flame war, and most people are polite. Just like the real world, you get all-sorts here.

I suppose it boils down to why a person uses forums such as these. Some use them to learn & help thers, some, use them as social gathering places, hanging out with like minded people. Some, just seem to want to have a "shout" and complain about the hard, and free work people are doing to benefit others. Never for a minute contributing, or even helping themselves.

I have used many many forums in my time, this Blade forum is unique, and exceptional. I am having a very hard time choosing my next handset, because, none of them have a community such as this. I love Cyanogen, I never want to be beholden to a device manufacturer for system updates. A friend from the UK recently visited me in Italy. His HTC Desire (lovely hardware) is still running 2.2 Froyo. If it won't run Cyanogen, I won't buy it, it's that simple.

Anil.

EDIT. I know Cyanogen runs on a HTC Desire, my friend is a mere mortal, not a geek like most of us. Root to him, means the stuff plants grow underground. :)

Does anyone know if its possible to install and use the ZTE Emode Helper from GSF into CM7?

I don't think it will work.

If you have the Proximity sensor problem then use the N161 build Kang by Sej which has a proximity calibration tool (not officially integrated in CM just yet last time I checked).

I still have the old Market, so that is no excuse, it is odd indeed.

The last time that happened I had on old version of Market.

New Market isn´t any better than older. Because it´s very slow - too slowest than 2.3.6. If you click on everything, you will be waiting and waiting - no win.

Hello,

I was trying one of the new nightlies instead of one of my custom stuffs, and i noticed that i cannot install paypal, tripadvisor and tasker, neither with titanium or thru market (they don't show up in market, not compatible).

can anyone shed a light on this, i can live without paypal and tripadvisor, but i'd like to use tasker since i think it's quite essential (and expensive)

thanks in advance :)

Nb: yes i'm back on the forum, no i don't do custom roms anymore and messages conserning ROM updates will be ignored

A full wipe (unfortunatly) did the trick (and market v3)

has anyone got a problem with the top button on their phone? Since an earlier version of cm7 my power button at the top of the san francisco has just stopped working, it does however work if I change to an alternative ROM such as Swedish spring.

Any ideas on why this is the case? Cheers.

I installed CM7 N165 today , and no FC's or anything weird happend

I'm back because I got a tip that since N161 the battery drain is MUCH improved.

I can't tell at the moment , but it looks good :D

I just installed the Honeycream theme , and my Blade didn't looked any better before.

VERY NICE :P

I'm happy , and I think I did find what I was looking for ... a nice looking Blade, working fine , and hopefully battery drain lasts 2 days.

But I promise to test it for a week ... no tips needed about battery calibration , but thanks anyway B)

Looking forward to test a good working CM7 for the first time.

I think CM7 is very close to be the best rom now ...

How would you guys say the performance is compared to Ginger Stir Fry and Blue ginger? Is the 2d performance equal? Is the gps-bug still there? How is battery life? Havnt used CM since n90-100 something, has the rom been much improved since then?

From N100 is big improve. There is no GPS bug since nightly build from new sources and all work great for me. I don't use GFS, but CM7 speed is good for me.

i got the new maps update last night, this morning it had eaten 20% of my battery due to sensor usage!

its starting to feel like i've got to build up a list of apps that if i use them i must remember to reboot before i go to bed (google reader is the wakelock king, which also got updated).

You'd like to think Google of all people would know what they were doing in writing apps. But apparently not. :D

For me from previous update of Google Maps is the bighest to make Partial Wakeup, see in Spare Parts. From boot phone about one day is OK and after Google Maps sudedendly makes wake-up for about 10-12 seconds. For one day is about 50-120 minutes, for night I lost for it about 2-3% of baterry.

Honestly, overall it is very good experience. I was last using CM7 3 months ago and there was all kind of bugs: gps reboots, charger reboots, and most annoiying one: battery drain was abnormal, comparing to SS5 i use before. So i return to SS5 and was perfectly happy with it. But then again i get bored & install CM again. And i must admit that there it's a huge difference: GPS works ok, battery is very much same as in SS5, the only problem i still have is a car charger reboot, which hapen only i attach phone in a sleep state. If screen is on, then it begin charging, otherwise it reboots. But i can live with that, so CM is now on my Blade :P
