Question

I deleted partition/cleared cache in clockworks

Then isntalled cm_blade_full-165.zip rom, right after i put on google apps (7.1.0-RC1-Blade) from here

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps

Everything working fine, but i dont see google 'MARKET' app nor google maps :o

Someone assist me please? I have tried the latest rom, 169 as well still same thing. What am i doing wrong. I have 26 app icons in my programs drawer, but google stuff missing

you installed the wrong file. first nightly you did right (165) then you installed rc1 (not google apps). at the bottom of that page you can see cyanogen mod 7 google apps. get that instead. install.

ghost in the machine mate! that's something crazy going on, more likely to be an app or setting than the rom though.

i've been running my n169+ on two blades for a couple of days no problem, although i've not had any major issues for quite some time.

that said there's some weird stuff hidden in /data - for example my sister's blade went postal trying to run igo8 satnav that it's been running for about a year, nandroid restored to a couple of days back and its fine. looked at adb and it seems to be crashing on exit due to lacking the vibrate permission, but i can't figure out what setting/app she's changed since then to upset it.

i'm a backup nazi - as soon as i get a stable rom install i nandroid it and look after it like my precioussssssssssss :)

well i wasn't away for long

your plus 2 build seems to have done the trick

no ruinous battery drain so far

once again thanks

Thanks for your N169 build Sej, running well here.

I also followed the instructions on the bug tracker page for the Wi-Fi and changed the settings.db thing so it can turns off after a minute and it seems to have re-connected 100% so far.

I've uploaded the settings .db file where Wi-Fi is set to turn off after a minute (rather than the standard fifteen).

Just push it or copy and paste it to here: /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/

You can also change the timeout period yourself by editing the line 'wifi_idle_ms'.

Credit goes to connogriofa for the instructions over on the bug tracker page here: http://code.google.c...ail?id=3157#c66

lol, mine must already be set like that as the wifi drops (ping) instantly as i turn the screen off, or it turns itself off, but yeah it comes straight back on again, although i've never had the reconnection problem myself anyway.

regarding the usb debugging notification fix - on my sister's admittedly very odd blade, i can't seem to turn debugging off as if i try, the usb mass storage screen pops up all the time. anyone else seeing that on n169+? i think her usb connector is fscked as i can't reproduce it.

Ah, I assumed it didn't, oh well laugh.gif. Yeah, mines usually okay the vast majority of the time but it seems just that fraction more reliable now (so far).

I haven't found that issue that's on your sisters phone though.

My question is do I have to uninstall the Market downloaded gapps first (so I don't get duplication)?

Yes, uninstall them.

Or will clockwork recovery do that for me?

No, the script only deletes old versions in /system.

Clockwork can "uninstall" things when you wipe data / factory reset though. ;)

there will be a lot of changes in new nightly - something important ? I`m on gsf now but I want to switch to CM7 :)

Nothing too drastic, but the FM app will be tweaked a little, and other small changes. Stay on GSF for a few more days, that won't hurt :)

sometimes, the market app gets install "frozen" on my blade. havn't bothered to find out why yet, i just go into titanium and it's there (in a different colour which means frozen) and just hit defrost

According to the last Cyanogen blog post, they are in a soft freeze preparing to release the next 7.1 release candidate.

Cheers, Nick.

yeah i read that and thought how nice it will be to be able to report bugs now whilst we're stable-ish, before they start merging the 2.6.35 kernel (that zte have a week to provide us with) and all hell breaks loose!

Erm, just open the app, press Calibrate sensor and it should be done. It works fine for me.

Running N166 for some days now, everything is candy.

Few weird things happened though :

1. Wifi did not reconnect one time

2. when i plug in the charger and the battery is less than 25% the phone reboots

I can live with that though

The first one is a known and (so far) unresolved issue. And you'll notice that you can't send files via Bluetooth in that build. Try N171, much has changed in it.

The wifi reconnection is actually fixed in a test rom on the bug tracker. It's just not made it through to the code review and nightlies yet.

Also, you can work around it in all current builds by setting the wifi sleep to never. And if you value battery, using an app to turn it on and off. I use tasker for the purpose.

Never is the default option there. Actually wifi still turns off after 15 minutes.
