<br />updated to n173. camera is OK for me.<br />
<br /><br /><br />

have been using sej's 169 plus 2 bulid for afew days now

battery good, wifi good, gps good no random reboots or crashes evreything appears sweet

the nature of peoples problems in general make me wonder about the bugs they experience

if it is not reproducible from one device to another it's probably not a bug in the rom

i see few patterns of problems emerging

so many blades, so many apps and so many configurations

its a wonder the devs ever fix anything

Well, after using GSF since release 1 to 19, I've decided to give CM7 another try. I'm also with sej's 169 plus 2 and i second you mullen666, good battery life, no problems with wifi, quick gps fix, not a single reboot... wow!

Nice work developers! Thank you.

I don't know, use cm nightly it's mostly the same thing minus one patch to enable the disabling of usb charging. And is more up to date :D

Sorry if it's been mentioned before.

Right. I was having a problem with email crashing down or not connecting ("the application email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" or.. "connection to the server could not be established"). The problem appeared when I moved from N156 to N171 and N173. I tried clearing data from settings, factory reset, installed a different rom, with gapps and without gapps, fixing permissions with titanium and on recovery mode, WiFi enabled or just 3g but nothing worked. So I downloaded an older modified version of email.apk from here and it is working fine now. According to the author it has "been modified to remove any Exchange Security policy enforcement" so I'm guessing it was the security checks that were causing the problem??

In any case is there a newer/better version of email.apk somewhere? Thanks!

What are the known bugs for n173?

Good question.

E-mail does not work for me. After setting up an exchange box, keep FC-ing until I remove the mailbox.

I have N173 and have a bug in the camera, when I want to take a picture, it has a countdown (10 sec) like if it was with the timer mode activated (which is not), anyone else have this bug?

It's a new feature of CM:

http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,7467

It's a new feature of CM:

http://review.cyanog...om/#change,7467

i can see a preference for timer that defaults to 10secs, in camera app->press menu button->advanced settings->timer duration

there's a preference for capture mode if you press the power button type icon within the camera app - immediate or timer, and immediate is ticked so i get no delay.

seems the timer mode was set to off by default in http://review.cyanog...om/#change,7559 which was in n173 but not 171

I get that when using a different charger not when using the zte one or usb charging.

The person i mentioned on another forum with the issue agrees with you. The original charger is fine, it's only his third party one that causes the reboot. What a strange bug! Explains why most of us deny such an issue exists anyway lol. Guess someone with a non-standard charger will have to log a bug after the next stable. :)

n173+ with wifi reconnect patch and usb charging app as well as softbuttons

usual download link

edit: due to the recent apache issue, i've disabled range support on my server entirely, so as it says on the page, download managers WILL NOT WORK, yes that's you natcop18.banglalionwimax.net who has tried to download it 71 times in the last 50mins and has been ignoring the "400 bad request" response

Great! And as others here, i also must say, that this happen only when i connect my Blade in sleep mode to thirdparty (Deal Extremme) car charger. With original charger (or over PC - USB), charging work as it should. With other ROMS (JellyFish, Swedish Spring...) car charging was ok. Currently this is only visible 'bug' i have with N165 (which bytheway currently run 3days, 10 hours with battery still on 33% - light usage), other functions so far are ok.

it did !! thank you !

Blimey, that's incredibly good. Do you have 3G enabled?

No. I use only GSM (2G) and my current usage is really light. For net i mostly use WiFi - we have it everywhere: at home, in the office, in a bar's where i go to coffe ;) And via power widget i switch WiFi on/off only when i actually need it. I really hate to be connected everytime, everywhere, i never like that :) Screen brightness is on auto, other setup is quite normal i believe (and i use only 3 screens in ADW - enough for me). This is my second battery charge on N165 (i do a battery stats wipe when upgrade), first charge was drained in 2 days and i discharge battery to 1% and then start charging and i also charge hour, two more after indication that it is full - i think that this also helps (it stays on 100% for quite some time). But main reason for long battery life is light usage. If you constantly 'play' with it, it can / will discharge fast... And also CM now is really much better like it was few months a go, where with same usage pattern i was hardly achieved even 2 full days...

Blimey, that's incredibly good. Do you have 3G enabled?

I'm using N160 right now, and I have the wifi disconnections problem. What's the status with the current nightlies? I can't understand if it is fixed or not...

Has anyone else noticed that the GPS fix in the camera does not work? On ANY version that is.

I can - on occasion - "fool" it by using a gps app and then switching to camera. But it's hit and miss.

Where can I report this bug?

Cheers!

There shouldn't be any wifi disconnection problems? There are wifi reconnection problems which aren't yet fixed in the nightlies - only in custom builds (such as from TomG or Sej)

If you mean it disconnects when the screen is off, that won't be fixed until we have the new kernel source code from ZTE.

No I mean disconnections even during use and screen on. There are still there? It's very annoying, I can't download large files (such as a nightly, for example)

I don't think this has ever been a CM7 problem. Does it work if you try it on another router? Do you have other devices on the same router? Have you tried static ip?

Hi guys. Ist the camera problem fixed in 173+ ? Have anybody an experience with this ROM (Battery life, etc) ?

Thanks :)

n173+ with wifi reconnect patch and usb charging app as well as softbuttons

-snip-

Could you tell where to get the wifi patch, or did you just replace the binaries? If so, would you mind telling which ones? These three are mentioned in the tracker

wpa_supplicant, wpa_cli, libwpa_client.so

but just want to make sure these are the correct ones. Would like to test it, but don't want to flash the whole rom to do so. Btw, earlier I noticed another downside with soft buttons, you won't get the status bar messages that come with some notifications like a couple of lines from a new sms/email, only the icon will be displayed.

yes i replaced those three binaries with the ones from tom_g's build. i tried just wpa_supplicant but it didn't work at all well. you could just make a flashable zip with a simple edify script to install them on a vanilla nightly.

as far as softbuttons go, notifications seem fine to me, the only thing you don't get is the time in the notification pulldown, to tell you the truth i never even noticed the time until someone said it was missing lol :D

ice99, yes of course the camera fix is in n173+ as its in n173, although its not a major issue - if you're using n171 just change the setting once and it should stay as the new default.

as far as battery life goes it should be no different to the official n173, can't really tell after a few hours.
