Guest TheDOC1 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) One question regarding the cyanogenmod kernel: Which kernel source tree is used to compile the binary "kernel" and "recovery_kernel" in "device/zte/blade" in the cyanogenmod source tree? A link to this source tree should be provided near these binaries to comply with the GPL. Is there no way to include the kernel sources into the cyanogenmod build process instead of a binary? That would make it easier to compile a version for GEN1 and GEN2 devices. Currently you have to swap the binary kernels. Edited April 15, 2011 by TheDOC1
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Firmware Over-the-Air Kill and what exactly does this do? I.e. do I need it?
Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 One question regarding the cyanogenmod kernel: You are better off posting that question there as this thread is the more or less official one handled by the CM7 Blade maintainers.
Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 and what exactly does this do? I.e. do I need it? "Prevents GoogleServicesFramework from downloading OTA updates." Your choice if you want GSF to update "whatever it thinks needs an update" by itself or not :)

Guest saturnreturn Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Does everyone have the "reboot when phone is on charge" issue, or just some people?
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Does everyone have the "reboot when phone is on charge" issue, or just some people? just some people. I have never had it (nor the GPS reboots for that matter either)
Guest yamahaxjr Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Quite many if you ask me just some people. I have never had it (nor the GPS reboots for that matter either)
Guest paulocostavct Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 l never get that because i only charge mine when is off, but i have to try when is on.

I think google have released some sort of update that prevents your OS from being rooted (specifically for 2.3), the FOTAkill prevents this, pretty sure this has nothing to do with the usb-reboot issue Edited April 15, 2011 by KACE_231

Guest peter0118 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 So now in N39 the radio is working?
Guest Productivity Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I just want to say well done to the devs so far for all the hard work that has gone into this rom! You're almost there, the only real hurdle left is the random shutdown/reboot issue. You can do it!
Guest reluctant_traveller Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 So now in N39 the radio is working? See 1st post. Specifically, the section showing the changelog for the nightly. Specifically, the part that does not mention that the radio is fixed. For the love of gods.
Guest JimJam707 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I believe that the next Nightly, #40 WILL BE Gen2.
Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 I believe that the next Nightly, #40 WILL BE Gen2. It will, and I seriously hope that'll be made VERY clear, otherwise those who don't know they have to convert their Blade to Gen2 before applying n40 will be in deep, deep trouble.
Guest sm4tik Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) Have you guys checked the battery voltage after charging the phone succesfully? I was using CM7 for a while (now back to SS4) and just now remembered I once checked the voltage after a short period of charging and it said 3mV, but everything else was still ok (batteery percentage etc.) so I didn't think much about it then. Could something like this be related to the charging reboot issue, or was it just a one-timer for no obvious reason? edit: Just to be clear, I didn't actually "charge" the phone, only transferred a couple of files with usb and didn't let the screen turn off while doing it. After a short period of charging my blade is dead as a duck and I can't bring up the display, which makes it somehwat difficult to check anything :)

Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Don't let duck fall asleep while charging :) Yep, I'll keep the display awake next time I charge, my "problem" is I only do it once a week now that these dreaded battery issues are gone :)

Guest mELIANTE Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 ... without knowing why Yeah, and us here will be the ones in trouble with the "oh noez iz no bootingz mai fonez!" :)
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 S'all right doodz, I have my BIG RED TEXT at hand. It should get the plight noticed.
