Just a question, why are you not upgrading to the latest stable or N39? I've been out of the nightly loop for a while, and I'm also on N35. Was considering to try N39 now(although N35 have been very stable) but have some recollection of people recommending N35 over later nightlies(some new bug in the new kernel IIRC). So you have any specific reason not to update to stable or N39, or are you just lazy like me? =)

Under stable and N38 I had it reboot twice while charging and switch itself completely off a third time. Once on usb, twice on mains. Up to and including N35 I'd only ever had 2 reboots whilst charging in the entire history of CM7 - both times using versions of the 'experimental kernel' which could have been the cause. I've never had a GPS reboot (don't use it much though) so I don't need to be on a newer version to avoid that. 3 crashes in 10 days is hardly the end of the world but if I can have none without losing any functionality I need then I figure I may as well! N35 I know to be fine on my phone whereas N36 froze regularly due to overclocking issues. So N35 is the latest version I know to really like my phone. I have no experience of N37 mind you - that one passed me by. Not tried N39 either come to think of it - but not much changed from stable.

Ah, yes, forgot about the issues with charging on latest stable. And yes, same here, I have maybe 1-3 reboots a week, nothing to lose sleep over. Although I have as you, not tried the GPS that much. Think I'm going to give the latest Swedish Spring a spin then instead. I'll probably upgrade to gen 2 when the next stable CM7 comes out.

Try to make a Windows virtual machine on your Mac with VMWare, Parallel Desktop or something similar. So you can use Windows on it. Another solution is to make a dual boot with MacOS and Windows.

Forcing someone to buy a copy of (otherwise useless) Windows just for a one-time phone upgrade

sounds a lil' bit like overkill, or ? You'll get a new Blade for less than what you pay for a legal

copy of Windows :)

After the install of N41 the phone work but

NO SIM PRESENT and i cant register on mobile Network.

Any ideas if i wrong something???

nah shouldn't brick it. a n40+ nightly should just fail to install on a gen1 blade. tho, there's no point in trying, as i guess there's a small chance it could do something weird.....

all work great, the phone boot up, but i cant phone coz the sim seems not present.

so everything went fine?

you followed the guides, step by step,

and everything is now fine apart from sim related stuff like calls, texts, internet?

have you tried wacking another sim in, from another phone, to see if it's just that one sim which doesn't work?

You could try SS and see if it's only a problem with CM7

If i put one sim of any operator (EXCEPT Telecom Italia Mobile TIM) i can phone and sim its present.

If i put on phone a TIM sim (TIM ITS OPERATOR) Sim cand recognized by phone...

other ppl (from italy) have same issue with Gen2?? (i have try a lot of gen2rom)

You could try SS and see if it's only a problem with CM7

aye already try... my sim on another phone is working.

Seems a bug on gen2 or last mod.

btw on CM7 stable the name of my operator (on screen) was Telecom Italiz spa, now when i try to search and connect, the phone show TIM. seems somenthing change on it.

Try VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/), it is free.. In the previous versions, they distinguished between Open-Source and "Closed" version (was the PREL version, i think), where only the "Closed" version had USB support, but i believe there is now only one version and it has the usb support.. Don't forget to install the Guest Additions for things like mouse over from Linux to Windows, and stuff like that!

I don't force anyone, windows can be used in evaluation mode and there are also free virtual machine softwares.

Sorry, of course not, should have read "to be forced to install ..."

Still overkill to download and install a VM, download and install Windows ... just for a 2 minute upgrade task.
