I havent used CM7 since N25 or something. Does it still suffer from bad performance or lack of smoothness?

after RC4 it's almost fully stable just the GPS bug seems to remain, try RC4 or N35, if you want the latest N41 use kk's converter..

@nognir

many people reported issues with "stable"

Stable, okay! But how is the performance? Is it still slow when scrolling contacts/settings/browser?

Hell no, for me with GO launcher and ADW EX before that, it's perfectly smooth, remove the stock ADW launcher.

I had the same problem. Now, after upgrade to Gen 2, scrolling within apps is much smoother, but in system things, like settings, contacts, its still a bit laggy.

People who i asked many times about this problem, said that on their phones this problem didn't appeared.

If someone have any working solution for this, please post it here. On EVERY CM7 version since n29, scrolling isnt as smooth as it should be (considering to RLS4 an 5 SS).

all graphical boosts are off, animations are minimalistic and my launcher is the most simple launcher ever- launcher pro.

Did you try the evern simpler one(s), the pure gingerbread lancher(s) ?

I'll check. But why do i have to limit myself to get satisfying performance, while all you guys have no problems with smoothness ? Theres certainly something wrong.

I have thought of this earlier and maybe it's because people have different definitions of "smooth".

I've tried ADW EX and the launcher is perfectly smooth while the contact scrolling and like you said, systems menus are laggy, with or without overclocking.

Try GoContacts see if it makes a difference.

If you want complete stability and smoothness SSRLS5 is probably your best bet.

So whats the sense of using CM7 while SS has the best perfmormance ? What are advantages of CM7 that can beat completely smoothness ?

All the added goodies which CM gives, game performance is smoother, extra settings / themes , copy and paste is better , smoothness ain't bad with the correct launcher, 0 lag in menu navigation and Normal scrolling, can't see how there's much of a difference to 2.2 in "smoothness" , the added CM features outweigh the need for milliseconds of speed which SS probably provide on scrolling..

Uhhhh.... mind me asking - what rom are you currently on at the moment?

Your warranty was voided if that is you are on a rom other than the original rom that came with the handset, i.e. Orange? It is also voided after you unlock it...

Warranty is a moot point after putting on SS, JJ, KK's rom, CM7....

:)

I want to put CM7 , Im on Bulgarian Globul Rom :) 2.2 froyo , Gen 2 , not sure bout tft or amoled :\ hmmm . If I flash it than return things to normal , they wont make a problem right? My phone strugles with playing games , lags on fruit ninja , nfs shift ( non stop lag ) , angry birds and so on. I want to play with almost no lag , thats it ;D , and the abillity to control the clock for me :X is a must . The phone is relatively new , 2-3 weeks.Wouldn't be happy to brick it or damage it some how , and then the warranty to not cover it ( I am aware that it wont if I am the one who bricks it :[) . Is the latest nightly worth it , and have somebody played with ZERO lag modern combat sandstorm hd on a blade with cm7 or other rom doesnt matteer if its overclocked? :]

when considering the low price of a Blade, the very low risk of anything going wrong with it, I would say that the warranty is worth very little. It is also easy to make it appear unmodified (just make sure it wont boot and no-one will tell the difference), and I imagine most warranties will still be honoured despite some modification, despite the constant assertion that rooting voids your warranty etc. rooting may void your warranty, but complaining bitterly to a salesperson in a store generally unvoids it.

Hey thanks :) . The biggest problem for me is that the phone is not completely bought , its on a mountly payment for 2 years :\ . If I go to say cm7 or jj9 and then restore everything like it was , how can they tell the diffrence?

I'm sure it would be possible to tell the difference, but no-one form a phone provider is going to do some complicated analysis on your phone to determine whether or not you've meddled with it. I would expect the following line of reasoning: Is it working, can it be fixed by turning it on and off again, has it very obviously been meddled with, does it look like its been hit very hard with a hammer. If the answers are all no, I think you're ok.

I think the battery drain issue is back in Nightly 41 on GEN2 :\

I went to sleep and there was plenty of battery left and when I woke up, battery had drained out.

There was no 3G, Wifi, GPS or anything on which would drain battery that fast.

After flashing it three times, trying the Universal converter, i'm still stuck on the operator logo.

Nothing can falsh the CM7 on my finnish gen2 Blade... Now I'm back to the Swedish Spring RLS5.

Anyone having the same issue?

Hehe :) You are lucky to live in countries without budget problems... in Poland, Blade costs about 600 PLN, which is an 1/3 of national average wage.

Such a curiosity.

But still its the cheapest smartphone on market.

Depends how much you use apps vs navigating in menu's I spose! Apps run faster than the Froyos, the menu scrolling doesn't - but as suggested above, peoples concerns differ and it's not slow enough that I personally care. :) Also, as others have suggested ADW.Ex is awesome at sorting out your homescreen and app drawer performance.

The other main advantage that no-one else seems to ever mention is you actually get a notification led for missed calls and texts even when the phone is asleep - which is incredibly handy from the point of view as using the phone as an actual phone.

You don't need to flash the universal converter if you're already on Gen2, especially with Nightly 41. Just wipe your cache/data, install the ROM and leave it alone.

Also the arrow to move around text when typing! :)
