Guest Matthew Ferguson Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Hell no, for me with GO launcher and ADW EX before that, it's perfectly smooth, remove the stock ADW launcher. If you read what he was asking, you'd see he wasn't even talking about the launcher. Yes, it's still slow when doing these things, zhcimon.
Guest nofx1984 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 You don't need to flash the universal converter if you're already on Gen2, especially with Nightly 41. Just wipe your cache/data, install the ROM and leave it alone. I gave it a try, just in case.. I'm installing the stable version, not the nightly. Installed, rebboted and stuck on the Logo... I'll try with the nighlty.
Guest Peter H Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) After flashing it three times, trying the Universal converter, i'm still stuck on the operator logo. Nothing can falsh the CM7 on my finnish gen2 Blade... Now I'm back to the Swedish Spring RLS5. Anyone having the same issue? The order you flash in matters - N41 first then the converter. Also check which version of Clockwork you are using. I used an older version than specified and it worked but I believe later ones have a problem. Edited April 22, 2011 by Peter H
Guest alex1alex2alex3alex4 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 It never really went away... It did, I'm on n39 and can get up to a full week of battery life with light use, and no overnight drain anymore.

Yes, it's still slow when doing these things, zhcimon. 1. launcher affects scrolling, CM is not slow in performance, it is on par with 2.2 or a couple milliseconds slow, people wouldn't stick with a sluggish rom. app performance is generally what is important for some, which is faster in CM7. 2. four posts in a row is a bit messy, edit button comes in handy. :) +1 It went away around RC4, a new install will read battery statistics bad anyway, don't trust the percentage till a couple days atleast :) It did, I'm on n39 and can get up to a full week of battery life with light use, and no overnight drain anymore. He was talking about scrolling in apps such as settings and the web browser. Launcher has NOTHING to do with this, so my point still stands. Can't believe I pointed this out and you still didn't get it. 2. Unnecessary criticism much... Once again, praising RC4... I've always had poor battery in CM7 with recalibration. On every version. Yeah okay... I don't think anyone's gotten this with ANY ROM on the Blade. Edited April 22, 2011 by Matthew Ferguson
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yeah okay... I don't think anyone's gotten this with ANY ROM on the Blade. I dont know airplane mode and full system sleep it could make 5 days i reckon

Guest targetbsp Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Yeah okay... I don't think anyone's gotten this with ANY ROM on the Blade. Mine is on 2 days 20 hours and 59% battery so I'm on track for that! Only used it for downloading app updates, 1 level of refraction and a few texts the past few days though. Guest Fou-lu Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) I've always had poor battery in CM7 with recalibration. On every version. your entitled to your own opinion about launcher. Never tried recalibtation, im a heavy battery user, and at night lose 1-2% battery with 3G on, i tested a PlayStation app "Fpse" for 5hrs it lasted from 100-5%, i figure that's good performance as 3G is never off and it's hardcore gaming, without using that app, just charge daily like Norm. I recommend roms when a majority of user's write good experiences about it, yes.. Edited April 22, 2011 by Fou-lu
Guest qwertymz Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 It seems that people have stopped discussing the shut down while charging issue on gen1 final. has this issue been resolved? I'm very happy with cm7 stable and don't really want to go to gen2... but I'd like to know if the issue has been solved. thanks for everyone's hard work. :)

So there's no point in "discussing" it. Edited April 22, 2011 by alex1alex2alex3alex4

Although, the workaround do seem to work, at least with N41 on Gen1. If you tick 'Aktiv lassen' (Stay awake) in Einstellungen (Settings) - Anwendungen (Applcation) - Entwicklung (Development), no reboot while charging even overnght.
Guest Zythus Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Yes, I had the problem with shutdown when charging. I was like omg wtf noob phone. But I used that "converter" for those, which don't want to go GEN2. And with that converter I installed N41. Guess what - no shutdowns :).

Tried that (n39), it did stay responsive while charging, but as soon as I pulled the plug my Blade locked up and rebooted after a minute or so.
Guest qwertymz Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I'll try the 'stay awake' option, thanks. The reason I'm not willing to GEN2/move up to N41 is that it seems to have re-introduced the GPS bug, which I had with RLS3, and not CM7 Stable. That, and I'm not sure I want to re-flash everything! Shame there's no solution though. It makes my alarm pretty much unreliable (as there's a change the phone will have switched off during charge).

Try N41 with k_k's universal converter CM7 universal converter. No GPS bug there.

Guest Frankish Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Hmm it seems users are also getting GPS related reboots on CM7 on the Motorola Defy. It's an unofficial port but you know...just thought it worth mentioning. No charging shutdowns for me on the Defy one though.
