The Google Apps such as Market are proprietary and closed source. The rest of Android is Open Source.

They are, under instructions:

1. The vital first step is download either Tom's or Seb404's ClockworkMod. Seb's is here, with instructions

2. Next is to do a Nandroid backup within Clockwork. This will produce a full backup of your current ROM, so you can go back to it at will.

3. Wipe data/ do a factory reset

4. Install the ROM .zip file.

5. Install Google Apps, which are HERE

6. Restore and backup, install new apps

It should be noted, that restoring settings and system apps could lead to some bad stuff going down, so be wary!

As an aside, makes sure you have the latest version of Clockwork installed, which, to be safe is 3.0.1.4. This can be downloaded from Seb's post, linked above, or through ROM manager. However. ROM manager will only install newer clockworks for our blades from within CM7, unfortunately.

This is really starting to be frustrating! I mean, i'm not a programmer myself but how hard is it to fix this GPS shutdown/reboot issue?

It's the only thing that REALLY bugs me in the whole CM7!?

Guys, please try playing Miami vindication and tell me if it works fine without graphics glitches because i'm facing these issues with graphics, i don't know if my GPU is messed up because quadrant and neocore seems to be working fine...but this game is giving me prob...please can someone test it?

Well... to answer your question, the fact it's not fixed despite lots of people trying suggests it's pretty hard. :) And I am a programmer - sometimes these things are hard. :)

It's mainly a warning for people who flash from a 2.2 rom and restore titanium apps with the user data, or anything else backed up like that, Google contacts, etc should be fine.

Used Google apps for awhile, and no reboot? GEN1 with N42 doesn't seem to have this bug.

Just a guess, but since the stable (n38), it has been exaclty 12 days. 38+12 = 50.
