Guest stephen m Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Have you repartitioned? But it was ok with N41 without repartitioning. So then I now have to repartition? If so (I'm sure it's mention previously, but to save me trawling through the previous pages) can you show me the link please. BTW, my phone is Gen1 ! Edit. Reverted back to N39 as I'd thought that may be the issue, but it's still not allowing me to install from Market. How can I resolve this PLEASE Edited April 23, 2011 by stephen m
Guest simonckenyon Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 My Phone is G2 and N51. Ok, GPS not work, but if i install the cm7_gen2 converter ver 3 "kallt_kaffe" GPS works, Confuse? Let's wait , everything has its time... that is because he gps bug would appear to be in the kernel and the converter uses a different kernel not really that confusing at all. the question in my mind is why jacob doesn't move over to kallt_kaffe's kernel? it seems to have a lot less problems

People who did repartition had problems. What happens when you try download?
Guest Matthew Ferguson Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 FFS. The moderators have had to delete all your guys crap once before. Cut it out! Woah woah my posts were never deleted by admins. Sorry if what I've said has offended you.

It states 'your download of xxxxx was unsucessful' Edit. Trying a total wipe as discussed above - see if that helps. Will keep you posted, thanks Edit. Even after a total wipe it's still not allowing me to download from Market Edited April 23, 2011 by stephen m

Will keep you posted, thanks I do remember reading that when people were using the Windows flasher to change to GEN 2 an option was offered with a 15mb cache to help those who were having some issues when downloading from the market, rather than the 2mb version. Not sure of the validity of that. I have also read of some people having success when they wiped the cache in Clockwork.
Guest qwertymz Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 I wonder why the charging issue is still there... bit annoying. what's the latest nightly/rc to have no problems with charging AND gps?

Guest dibbles Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Thanks. But still doing it - any other ideas Through skimping back a page or two I see you have tried various nightlies and all have the same issue on your phone when you try and download from the market. Not that it should matter (?) but are you on a std partition layout on your phone...? As I have not used the conversion method (I'm on a GEN 2 modified phone) I could not advise you if that could be a possible issue for you. Considering you have tried that many nightlies what was the last (IIRC n39) like for you without having to use that converter..? Are you able to download from anything other than the market..? Have you grabbed an appbrain.apk and installed that and then tried to download from there...?

It wont download at all from Market I have app brain installed, but that takes you to Market to install - so same issue. Thanks for your help BTW Hopefully there is some more ideas out there. Or maybe the only solution is move to Gen2 but although I've seen the instructions in the forum, it still looks a little complex. Is there a more easier way? Edited April 23, 2011 by stephen m
Guest bhf Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 I haven't partitioned the SD in anyway, so I guess it's on the standard partition. The SD card wasn't meant, the phone memory was. Back in the day :), it was popular to use the tpt image of Japanese Jellyfish to repartition the phone memory. /system was shrinked to 128 MiB, /cache shrinked to 2 MiB, so that /data was enlarged up to 300 MiB. The /cache shrinkage was the problem. Did you do any of this sort?

It wasn't the SD card I was asking about but I'll assume that the phones partitions are std. The only time that I have had an issue similar to yours is when I was connecting to WI-Fi via a free hotspot around a town centre. It would allow me to browse but I could not download. I assume you are using Wi-Fi to connect to the market etc..? App Brain takes you to the market but I thought that using a different "front end" might have helped.

Yes I was using wi-fi to connect. Just tried downloading via 3g instead of wifi, but to no avail - there is a message stating 'your item will be downloaded' just doesn't do it - ahh! N42 doesn't have this, nor did N35 in my experience, but others differ. GEN1 GPS, In 10 seconds find my position, with this kernel. Guest stephen m Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Re my phone's issues with Market (see above). Just noticed an interesting thing. When in Titanium back up and clicking 'check for updates' it states 'there are no matches in Android Market for the search :) And when accessing the Black Market app it just keeps searching - a possible command file issue with the Market app itself I wonder - redownloaded latest Google Apps via Clockwork BTW. Any other other suggestion out there and from any of the mods :) Thanks to dibbles for his ideas so far though
Guest shad0wboss Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 ATTN: the Hardware acceleration messes up the graphics when playing game. I've tried disabling the hardware acceleration which delebrately decreased the neocore test by 1 FPS but it's still fast and the games run just fine without a problem. Is there a way to report this fault? so that latest builds don't have this problem.

If you haven't it could be somethings got left from a previous version/ROM thats causing problems.

I'm sure they pop in and are well aware of most of the current issues. I, for one, would appreciate "An Idiots Guide to Fault Reporting on CM7" Edited April 23, 2011 by ThrashMan

Guest zabtcent Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 On N52 I noticed if you disable the wireless location option and leave only GPS-satelites turned on, no GPS CRASH..TESTED ON AURA AND GOOGLE MAPS. CHARGING BUG STILL IS THERE..
