Guest hydrophonic76 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 i have the chargin issue too :) overnight-charging --> reboot on disconnecting the charger cable.
Guest jarno27 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Thank you for your excellent work. I succesfully went to GEN 2 from GEN 1 and then did full wipe and cache wipe, installed then CM7 7.02. The only problem is that the submenus opens as black. For example if i go to settings and then choose wifi settings, the wifi page is black and I must guess where to press. Is this problem noticed by someone else?

Guest redironman Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 i had same problem i went back to swedish spring as soon as u open anything in settings got black screen then after when i clicked on settings there was a black screen there phone was unusable. (Orange SF B03 OLED upgraded to Gen2 (windows method) 7.0.2.) I've had that occasionally ever since n39 but only when the battery was low. I found if you rotate the phone to landscape the screen appears again. I have not seen it since 7.0.2 though. On a side note anyone else getting high sensor usage by Android system? I get between quarter and half the phone's up-time indicated. How can I find which sensors are being used?
Guest The Soup Thief Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 i did a "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" before installing. this is a full wipe..or not? Hiya - yes - that's what I'd meant by "full wipe" I often don't bother - sorry - I assumed you'd been as lazy as me! After reading flib's comment I thought this was the cause of my problem, but it seems it's still there in 7.0.2 as you say
Guest Simon O Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I've now tried twice to reinstall and wipe but the problem still exists. I also tried to install Market from Vending.apk and it installed correctly but it crashes immediately after launching it... I noticed that there isn't any of the apps which should come from GAPPS-package?? Your system partition is too small so you don't have enough space to install both CM7 and the gapps package. The system partition should be at least 136MB.

Tom realised after release of 7.0.2 that the issue is still present.

Guest campyr Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 what size had you made your system partition...? i did kallt kaffes version (the 2nd one on hecataes list of 4 options) i did this one to stop the gps reboot
Guest dibbles Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 i did kallt kaffes version (the 2nd one on hecataes list of 4 options) i did this one to stop the gps reboot So this one...? gen2_128mb_system ----------------- /dev/block/mtdblock4 37.5M /cache /dev/block/mtdblock5 128.0M /system /dev/block/mtdblock6 254.5M /data FWIW (and maybe not a great deal) I partitioned mine using the TPT method to get to GEN 2 with a 140mb System 20mb cache and 270mb data. As the 2.2 ROM's are supposed to direct the cache to the SD card it is debatable if the cache needed to be as big as I set it but I have more than enough room for my data.

Guest tmmp Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I can't send sms with very long text, if the sms takes up to 3 total sms it does not send anyone else?
Guest dibbles Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) yes thats the one . i'll try your method, thanks for your help DO NOT try my method of the TPT install / partition as you upgraded to GEN 2 from using the Windows flasher, you risk bricking your phone. If you need to use the KK version to run the Windows flasher again you can generate two new GEN 2 partition files to replace those within the files folder of the KK's downloaded zip to create your own partition sizes. Be careful please :) I spent quite a while returning back from GEN 2 to GEN 1 and restoring my IEMI number to come away from the Windows flashing process so that I could only then use the TPT method. Guest manji Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) GPS works great on CM7.0.2, tested on Google maps and Google navigation, the problem I had before is no longer there (rebooting as soon as I got a GPS fix), though my only issue is that the GPS icon on the status bar remains, even after i switch it off, does anyone else have this issue Same happens here. :) Edited April 26, 2011 by manji
Guest samjam Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Same happens here. :) I also get the problem that the status bar always shows GPS - using 7.0.2
Guest Nathorr Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 GEN2 & CM7 7.0.2 succesfully installed and everything is working flawlessy! I'll try Angry Birds in the evening, I'm sure it'll work better than in SS RLS5 :)
Guest manji Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) My GPS icon has been there a couple of hours now. lol Edited April 26, 2011 by manji
Guest pellen Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 For those of you that have the permanent gps icon in the status bar, start maps and press back to homescreen again before gps gets sat fix :)

But untill then I would agree its best not to take the yellow BRICK road Edited April 26, 2011 by Guest

But untill then I would agree its best not to risk brickage. You can return from a GEN 2 windows flashed phone to a GEN 1 and I do admit that the procedure was quite unnerving. At least it only has to be done the once and as long as you make sure you do a nv backup at the correct time you can then restore your IMEI number when back to GEN 1 using the nv restore. Without burstlam sharing those tools to enable it to happen I think that I would have been stuck on GEN 2 from the Windows flasher. Not necessarily a bad thing but now with the TPT option I'm glad that I changed. I just had to work up enough courage to get on with it. After that with the TPT choice in going to GEN 2 it is quite simple, relatively speaking - especially after downgrading from the Windows flash.!
