Here we go: http://www.mediafire.com/?jqdatdi7e3ujy0a

- Camera will likely not work but that I think I can fix later.

- If it boots, please test if FM Radio is working with this kernel.

EDIT: If camera is not working with the above kernel then try this fix: http://www.mediafire.com/?1sta4q916f7d2wr

Please try without the fix first, then with the fix installed.

Has this been tested yet? Did it work? Was the camera fix needed?

The kernel is working, my device is up.

I installed setcpu.

It won't allow me slide the setcpu speed bar either up or down.

When i tried to drag the speed bar up/down a bit, it just stucks for a while.

Then reboots.

I guess it's the scaling (culprit).

Most phones "only" overclocks to 691.2MHz or 710.4MHz. Mine runs stable at 710.4MHz and perhaps also at 729.6MHz but above that it locks up and reboots. Start att 672MHz and run for a while, if it is stable you can try another steps (the steps are 19.2MHz).

Trying the patch for camera that you provided.

Great, it should fix the camera. Also please try the FM Radio. I had to make a small hack in the kernel to get the FM Radio in the 2.2 dumps to work on Gen1 phones and I do not know if I have to undo this hack for Gen2 phones or not.

Following top down approach (691Mhz freezes and reboots).

I wonder why T-mobile Pulse runs faster than blade, i'm running it @691Mhz for weeks.

Hi

I'm Faisal Mushtaq. Recently bought ZTE u-v880 from china. It turned out to be GEN2 with pigfish app.

With the help of modoco members support, i managed to do the following task with the device.

The details are listed below.

PigFish output:

Mr pigfish says you have a G2 model.

ram_console: 0x02500000

system RAM: 0x02600000

Stock Rom details:

Model: ZTE-U V880

Android ver: 2.2

Baseband ver: P729CUB01

Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf zte-kernel@Zdroid-SMT

Build: UNI_CN_V880 1.1

Edit:

Clockworkmod recovery for ZTE-U V880 GEN2

1. I installed Z4root, you can find it here Link

2. I did a temporary root using Z4root

3. Installed "Recovery manager 0.34b" Link

4. Using recovery manager i installed the recovery image: recovery-clockwork-3.0.1.4-x880. Link

5. Boot into recovery manager power off, power on whilst pressing the Vol down button or you can use the quickboot, find it here Link

6. Finally nandroid backup your current ROM.

Now i'm looking farward to install sweedish rom (for GEN2 Blade), i'll post the details when i'll be done.

Installation of Custom Rom on ZTE-U V880 GEN2 Blade

7. Download the swedish spring RLS2 rom from Link (Courtesy of kallt_kaffe)

8. Copy the downloaded ROM (zip) file on your sdcard root.

9. Boot into clockworkmod recovery mode as i mentioned above.

10. Do nandroid backup of your current ROM.

11. Now select "Choose zip file from sdcard" option and select the downloaded rom file.

12. Wait and let it finish.

13. For the first time the ROM will take some time to boot ( i guess 4/5 min for me) so be patient.

14. You'r done, Cheers.

Installation of an Overclock kernel on a GEN2 Blade (Courtesy of kallt_kaffe)

In progress....

Will update you soon....

Download the OC-kernel, camera fix and flash them in the recovery mode.

Don't wipe the cache/system partition.

1. This is the kallt_kaffe's OC-Kernel for Swedish Spring RLS2 (GEN2) KK OC Kernel

2. Camera fix for the OC kernel: Camera Fix

3. FM Radio is also working.

Thanks to all active modoco memebers on this thread.

Do you make data/cache erase before flashing the new rom.....

.....and please give us more descripe about procedure for import of the new OC kernel, camera fix and RDS...

10X alot

10X alot

Clockwork is on the Device, so you can try without wiping, then wipe it if android does not boot.

After the Flash - try to let it boot - Give it about 6 minutes.

If it doesn't boot, go back into clockwork (hold down the VOLUME DOWN button while booting) and then just do the
wipe cache partition
and
wipe data/factory reset
then reboot..

If you don't care about any of your APPS or DATA, then I would do the WIPE just after flashing the ROM.

To apply the 2 patches

Download the two files to your
SDCARD

  • KK OC Kernel (gen2_kernel_test2.zip)

  • Camera Fix (gen2_camera_fix.zip)

Enter Clockwork (hold down the VOLUME DOWN button while booting)

Choose the 5th item "install zip fom sdcard"

Choose the 2nd item "choose zip from sdcard"

Pick
gen2_kernel_test2.zip

Choose the 5th item "install zip fom sdcard"

Choose the 2nd item "choose zip from sdcard"

Pick
gen2_camera_fix.zip

Then reboot

Thanks a lot to solidchips and kallt_kaffe for all their work over the past 2 days to get this working.

Obviously Install the ROM (Swedish Spring RLS2) before you Apply the 2 patches.

Also Let the Rom Boot Once - Before you reboot and apply the patches.
