Hi Paul apologies this is slightly off topic, from your tweets you seem to he liking this device and I am pleased to see your making excellent progress with root and custom roms.! My question is how does this compair to a HTC device? Been using them for years and currently on a desire but the new ones are a bit meh..... also I like this form factor I don't want to jam a giant device in my pocket ..... anyway you thoughts on this will be appreciated.

Yes Paul, please let us know this :-) I think the 2x formfactor is nice. But i would prefer the HTC Desire, with hard-keys, bettert screen and dual core - that would be awsome :-D

Paul, what are your thoughts on the device? Compared to everything else you've played with? :D

(Both in terms of developing, roms etc - and in general as a device)

I really like it, it's my device of choice atm.

What's the current status of your device? How did you toast it?

P

Toasted by trying to replace framework-res.apk, missing resource ID, boot-loop.

Used to have a brief window of adb access now nothing.

Can access recovery and S/W Upgrade.

USB device not found with NV Flash (but I may be doing this wrong)

To get to NVFlash mode, take out battery, then hold down volume up AND down while inserting the USB plug.

Tks, will confirm in 60 mins... then I will flash whatever you want... I can get a replacement easy (work for Voda) so don't mind double-bricking it in the interests of the community!

Sorry for any trouble i caused for people, but i didn't know since my device was bricked anyway :D

Could explain why i lost adb connectivity though.

No hard feelings.

It didn't occur to me that it would happen without any warning at all, but luckily my phone wasn't stuffed with important things. No harm done, really.

Did you succeed?

Yes! :D

Although don't expect your phone to tell you so... it doesn't even turn the screen on. Took me a while to figure that one out.

Edit: I'll write a post with the correct files and drivers.

I've now found a way to boot from recovery from the main OS itself I think. :D

MIUI will come I'm sure, whether it's from me or somebody else I'm not so sure about. I stopped working on MIUI once we'd got it up and running in English. But let's not go off topic on this thread yet... recovery and kernel first! :D
