Guest Babtain Posted October 16, 2011 Report Posted October 16, 2011 Hi Paul, Just joined this great forum after unbricking my LG 2x using the nvflash procedure. I have tried the above file 'CWM 4.0.0.5" and it was installed as per the posted instructions. The phone was restarted and I got into the CWM menu (blue colour text) successfully. The problem starts when I try to install a custom ROM namely 'CyanogenMod 7' because I heard that it supports Arabic text. The ROM was put into a SDCARD and then I use the install from zip so as to install the rom. The installation starts which is rather fast to me something like a 30 seconds even less? I read somewhere that it takes longer like 10 minutes. I then restarted the phone but instead of the custom rom I get the white LG logo followed by a non animated LG start screen then the phone freezes. I tried different versions of the custom rom and even the stock rom but nothing happens differently after the CWM installation. Could the CWM be the issue? I'll be grateful for your advise or the advice of the knowledgeable wise men/women of the forum Cheers PS, OK so just found out that I may need to use the 'restore' function rather than the 'install from zip'. But I need to put the custom rom in this path Sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ ??? I did use a file manager on the phone but when I put the file there or at least i think i did. Then when I used the restore function I do not see the file??? Ok, the above version of CWM was the issue found out by searching through xda. I managed to install the rom finally. See this link to find out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745 Thanks anyways Babtain

Guest thanphongvt Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 Ah, damn you Windows permissions. Could you edit the batch file to add 'adb-windows shell chmod 4755 /data/local/psneuter' after the push and see if that fixes it? P Can you explain clearly? I have this proplem an I can't install CWM in my LG Optimus 2x adb-windows push psneuter /data/local/psneuter adb-windows shell chmod 4755 /data/local/psneuter adb-windows shell /data/local/psneuter adb-windows wait-for-device adb-windows push clockworkmod.img /data/local/ adb-windows shell dd if=/data/local/clockworkmod.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 this is my .bat file
Guest Immortalis Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 I've got the same problem: /dev/block/mmcblk0p7: cannot open for write: Permission denied My o2x is not rooted and I've been able to do this before using CWM 4.0.0.5 without any problem. This all happened after LG finally pushed out their gingerbread/v20l/2.3.4 update which my phone is now running. Any help would be highly appreciated so I can get back to a proper rom. Have also tried some different root methods without luck. http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1327599http://www.lg-phones...ingerbread.htmlSuperOneClick

Guest aaww Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 This thread is too old. get the latest CWM through the Rom Manager application (Play Market). http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager I got the Touch controlled version 5.8.1.3 :) you can get the 5.0.2.0 witch is also fine.
