Baseband is the "drivers" dedicated for the "radios" in the phone, radios being 2G/3G, UMTS etc. Flashing a newer baseband "can" mean better battery life, better reception etc. BUT BUT BUT, in some rare cases you might experience a worse experience then before. Its all down to networks, coverage etc. RIL is Radio Interface Layer, and is "commonly" the drivers the phone uses to interface with the radio's. Is that good enough? So if you experience good enough coverage etc, no reason to upgrade right? - im still on the one I recieved phone with - 20110306 - seems to work alright. Worst thing im experiencing at the moment with my phone is it seems there is a problem with my on/off button on phone - only works when pressing on the edge - pressing on middle of button, no response, wtf :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Squide Posted June 16, 2011 Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 Just flashed the 0606 baseband... with the RIL fix.. running on Windows 7 64Bit 1. nandroid backup first 2. copy the internal SD content to my computer, for just in case. 3. flash like the first post said. 4. after the flash finish, the phone reboots itself.. then, I unplug it from the computer.. and put back the battery.. 5. The phone enter the boot loop, LG screen -> Startup animation.. -> Boot again, but no big deal ;) 6. Switch it off, enter clockworkmod and restore nandroid backup. 7. install the RIL fix. 8. Reboot normally and have the new baseband working. P.S.
