Guest Paul Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Can we expect "the norwegian fix" to be implemented in FR19? Yes, possibly not for the first release as i'm going to do the Norwegian fix differently this time. P
Guest Paul Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Fixing the Settings issue now, fix online shortly... P
Guest matterno Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Hi Paul, com.android.phone crashes when I want to get Phone-Info in settings. Got the same Problem on RC1. I came from Beta2 and wiped (Dalvik-)Cache, no Full-Wipe EDIT: Thanks Edited June 21, 2011 by matterno
Guest Paul Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Fixed Settings.apk for the Phone info crash is merged straight into the RC1 kitchen, you can grab the Settings APK on it's own here - http://cl.ly/3e3A1Z1P2b251A421B3u P
Guest herist Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Paul, i already use fr19 beta 5. why my baseband still 20110405 ? why not change to 0606 ?
Guest Retaured Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Clocked my lg optimus 2x to 1.4 ghz on fr17 custom kitchen. I got about 80 apps on my mobile. Here's my quadrant score: Quadrant score :) Love your work, keep it up!
Guest Jay-V Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Paul, i already use fr19 beta 5. why my baseband still 20110405 ? why not change to 0606 ? Baseband is not included in the ROM. It has to be flashed seperately.

Guest ralli1300 Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Paul, I can confirm that crashing of com.android.phone is solved. Thanks. Edited June 21, 2011 by ralli1300
Guest MrMastodon Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Yes, possibly not for the first release as i'm going to do the Norwegian fix differently this time. P No rush, I can wait when I know there is something good ahead :)
Guest mankian Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 I can't replicate this, i'm guessing you left out something it needs in the bake.... P did it on beta 2 aswell. i guess your right it might be the options i'm selecting. as said before it still works fine and everything else is fine so its all good :) cheers for the new settings.apk too!
Guest herist Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 You have to flash it using SmartFlash, with new (this) ROM you get only new RIL. what the means "Based on the new 2011.06.06 release" ? thank you all
Guest Ph4nt0m Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Anybody else has problems with bluetooth? Don't know if it worked before, but now (RC1) I can't recieve files. I have paired my phone and mac, but when I try to send a file from computer to the phone I get an error. Didn't try the opposite way... Settings -> About Phone works fine after installing new settings.apk :)
Guest Ph4nt0m Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 what the means "Based on the new 2011.06.06 release" ? thank you all It is based on new ROM, there wasn't just new baseband and RIL.
Guest herist Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 It is based on new ROM, there wasn't just new baseband and RIL. oo...i c anyway, need upgrade baseband or not after using fr19 RC 1 ? thank's
Guest Paul Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Baseband is completely seperate. So if you want the new baseband, install it from the baseband post in the forum (remember it wipes your device). P
Guest Ph4nt0m Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 oo...i c anyway, need upgrade baseband or not after using fr19 RC 1 ? thank's It's recommended to use same RIL and baseband version so I would say yes. However, if it works fine with your "old" baseband it is not necessary.
Guest goatee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Probably being a numpty, but do I just install this through the app manager, or do I need to copy it into /system/apps? Guest goatee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Thanks :) - in fact I was lazy, and dumped it into the ROM zip, and reflashed - also means I don't have to cook a new ROM if I want to reflash with RC1. Copy into /system/app as Settings.apk. P Edited June 21, 2011 by goatee
Guest cheloman Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Im coming from FR18 and with Baseband 1035.21_20110405. So, I guess Iam in EXT4. The steps should be: 1. bake the rom, and put it in external SD Card. 2. Download the BacktoEXT3 zip and put it in external SD Card 3. Download the new baseband and install it through smartflash tool. 4. Reboot in recovery and install the BackToEXT3 zip 5. Without reboot again install the new rom FR19RC1 Its correct or Im missing something? Thank you!
Guest Clone519 Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Thanks paul xD Love your ROM, stability got me back from CM7 to your ROM :)
Guest goatee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Spot on - that's exactly what I did :). Just remember to back up your internal SD card B) - I've never had it wiped during a baseband upgrade, but it could be. Im coming from FR18 and with Baseband 1035.21_20110405. Guest jon.m.knight Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Apprieciate that whilst Paul waits for the kernel source this is an ext3 ROM... I've had a quick read through here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4 Wondering if anyone can translate for me? - i.e what are the main advantages of an ext4 rom vs ext3 ... I'm debating whether to wait for an FRXX - EXT4 based ROM, or go ahead with 19RC1
Guest goatee Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) I've not read it, but should you wait? FR19 RC1 is faster and more fluid than FR18. It doesn't do as well on benchmarks, but I don't care about benchmarks - I'm just interested in how my phone feels and performs in the real world. Edit: I have now read it, and I can see why ext4 will provide speed improvements over ext3, but I don't know how perceptible those improvements are, and as I said above, FR19 performs better in the real world, which is all I care about Apprieciate that whilst Paul waits for the kernel source this is an ext3 ROM...
